It becoming more clear for Porto especially after that sporting dramatic draw yesterday. Porto are now 4 point above 2nd place sporting with a match in hand to play, a win in their next game will put them 7 points clear, for me it looking more like their season. They have been very good this season, imagine by this time of the season they have just conceded 4 goals, they very impressive. Well I don’t want to be too quick to finalize but I think Porto Will win it this season.

Benfica are will be playing later today and I think a win should be easy for them, they are still yet to lose a match in the league since the arrival of Jose morihno, I gambled on them to win and I really hope I don’t regret that.

Sporting Lisbon surprisingly drew 1-1 with Gil Vicente. Sporting conceded a goal after receiving a red card in this match. Therefore, Inacio's red card could potentially cost his team the Portuguese championship. Currently, this loss of points will push them further away from the top of the table. Porto could win their match tomorrow and extend their lead to seven points. In that case, closing the seven-point gap will be very difficult for Sporting Lisbon.

Porto have been a developing team for the past few seasons, their consistency so far this season is leading them towards the title. Halfway through the season, Porto have managed to build a 4-point lead with one match left. Tomorrow they will fight against Santa Clara. Recent form and the position of the points table tell us how likely Porto is to win. Santa Clara is the bottom team in the points table and they have only found 1 win in their last 5 matches. Even though it is a home match, Santa Clara's chances of winning against the strongest team of the season are very low. So I see Porto building a 7-point lead and taking another step towards the title.

Sporting are only experiencing some difficulties at the moment and am optimistic that they would get back to winning ways to continue chasing Porto.

We've reached the middle of the season, the first half of the season is over (although there are 2 or 3 games in hand, involving teams at the bottom of the table). We can now take stock of what has been happening.

Porto is currently in first place with an excellent performance, with 16 wins and 1 draw (which they conceded to Benfica). They have the best defense, having conceded only 4 goals. They are 7 points ahead of second place (Sporting) and 10 points ahead of third (Benfica).

Second place is held by Sporting, who are having a balanced performance, despite having conceded 3 draws and 1 defeat. It's the team with the best attack, having scored 47 goals and conceded only 9.

In third place is Benfica, who have had a very turbulent season. Despite not losing a single game, they have already conceded 6 draws. With a nearly impossible mission to reach first place, they are still fighting to try and stay in second, which is only 3 points behind.

The surprise of the season has been Gil Vicente, who have been playing very well and are currently in 4th place, one point ahead of Braga.

There's still a very small difference between 8th and 4th place, which will be resolved in practically two rounds. So, for me, there's not just a chance for Gil Vicente or Braga. There's a chance for everyone within that range I mentioned; they just need to win two games to move up quite a bit in the standings.

League Cup first semifinal hurt badly as Sporting CP was at @1.3, this was looking easy money with they also score early things were going on easy win for them but at the end 11 minutes injury time brought serious changes and Vitoria Guimaraes turned the table for themselves.

Super sub Ndoye arrived on 78th minute and have 2 goals 92nd minute then 101-minute goal broke hearts and also killed many parlay bets, worst display of performance from the Sporting CP in second half of this match, they missed few good chances and then Ndoye done rest of damage in dying minutes of game. Now tomorrow second semifinal is going to be played between Benfica vs Braga while Vitoria Guimaraes after beating Porto in quarterfinal and now Sporting CP in semifinal looking interesting for cup.

If the team at the top of the table has a 10 point difference to the other teams in the league it's possible for them to drop points and still remain at the top of the table but when there no much gap between the team in the 1st position to the other teams it's possible to see them team in the first position to move to 4th place. In the case of FC Porto and the other teams, there is a big advantage for them to keep dominating the league as there are no other teams that are as strong as they are that cdn challenge them to take over the first to fourth spot.

This weekend, we have the final of the League Cup, between eternal rivals Guimarães vs Braga. It's going to be a very exciting game, because both teams will give everything to win. It could be an interesting game to watch.

Most of us expected to see Derby de Lisboa between Sporting and Benfica in League Cup final, instead we got Derby do Minho between Vitoria and Braga - oldest rivalry in Portugal. Also not bad. Didn't watched both semifinals in full, from what I saw Vitoria Guimaraes made bigger surprise, it doesn't happens often that they win against big 3 clubs. From Braga sometimes you can expect to see such result, but still, it's surprise.

Both of hot favourite and favourite are now out of League Cup race with Braga looking much better to win from here, but it's going to be not easy for them because in last two games both ended on draw.

Vitoria Guimaraes is doing good job in this season, but their attack is not organized like Braga, this could be advantage with them still it's going to interesting game as Vitoria Guimaraes play against Sporting CP in semifinal. I am expecting them to be having good chance to win with the odds @4.2 while Braga which is not good in league need to be secure their name on trophy, this will give them good confidence, last five games in league both have 8 points.
