Truly, the Nigerian super eagle may have more talented players than Cape Verde, but it is so unfortunate that we couldn't go far even to qualify for this world cup not to talk of play within the tournament, while we all can see how Cape Verde show their competency in this world cup and perform best even be joined the limit we expected them to get to, please why many will definitely believe that in football it is not by how far but how well, as we speak we all know that we cannot even stand the power of Morocco when it comes to football any longer with what they are playing these days.

The Nigerians teams we are having now are still far inferior to the ones we have in the past. Before this World Cup, looking at the players that represented Nigeria in the 2018 World Cup in Russia, it look as though this current squad has good players than them but they were able to qualify for the World Cup without facing any much hassle. This now leaves us to two questions as to why the Nigeria team fails to qualify. They are either lacking of a good manager to manage the team well with the good players in the team now or other African teams have steeped up and are now having better players than us.

Nigerian football quality has dropped drastically, while most African countries have improved in their performance. Selection in the past, like the team that played in the 1994 World Cup, was based on merit. Now tribalism and corruption are destroying the national team. In the past, countries like Cape Verde were nonexistent because they had a very weak team. But today that country is a force in global football.

This is really unfortunate hearing the passing of this player barely a week after the exit of the south Africans team from the world cup. Our condolences goes to the immediate family of the player and to the south African football federation and the club his current club. Death is one thing that everyone will experience but coming at this stage of his life, where he is at the peak of his career is something that is not good to me. Even though the cause of his death is not yet that clear to the public players should always take their health as a priority always.

I read the tragic story online some minutes ago and can’t seem to find a source on the cause of death. The general assumption is that he was depressed but we cannot be sure until there is confirmation from the authorities and family so it would be respectful if the media for now stop peddling the story as a suicide until there is proof.

For someone who just returned from World Cup competition do you think someone of his caliber will have anything to do with xenophobia? How do you even imagine that to be the cause of his death? The media is fast in spreading false information just to get engagements instead of waiting for the family to bring the right information on the cause of the death of the player they will just put out an information there so when the real information is out their narrative has already gone far. So far the player is dead but the cause of his death is still unknown let's not help the media to keep spreading the wrong information until the family or the national team release the press statement.

The bitter truth is that both of your points are exactly the reason why the Super Eagles missed out on this World Cup. If you look back at that 2018 squad under Gernot Rohr, we didn't even have all these young stars that we have today, but the team had serious discipline and their performance was smooth because the management was stable.

Today, we have amazing players shining in Europe, but total tactical confusion and administrative issues from the top have ruined everything, making our players look completely lost on the pitch without a proper plan. To make matters worse, other African countries like South Africa, Benin, and Rwanda have stepped up big time, they don't fear the Nigeria jersey anymore because they have built solid, highly organized teams. At the end of the day, having top players means nothing if there is no good coach to guide them, and that is why these well arranged countries are punishing us now.

I’m just as confused as you’re but that’s the internet for you. People will speculate and draw conclusions from absolute nonsense. Adam was South African so how could he have been a victim of xenophobic attacks? I think if he died violently or was murdered, it would be a much bigger case than this.
@giftedman The best we can do for the family is to offer our condolences and allow them process the passing of their loved one. To us, Adams was a footballer, to them, they lost a brother, a son, and a friend.

The media you mentioned want to have the scoop first so they don't care a lot about the cause but about what happened to the player unfortunately. They will added later the cause if it was made public..
It is unfortunate to see a person dying without an obvious cause at this young age.
It is also sad to see his nation and every African team being kicked from the World Cup sooner than the last version in Qatar.

I don't know why people like spreading false news about something they have no knowledge about, I'm pretty sure people are doing this just to generate traffic on their page they don't really give a fuck about the deceased or how the family of the deceased is feeling right now. This is why I keep telling myself that one day it's going to be me one day…because one heartbreaking thing about life is that one day we all must die someday….life is just so unpredictable like one minute someone’s celebrating his success traveling from coming back from the World Cup game…and next another minute you are seeing RIP…I think I saw that the dead body was found in Cape Town…but to me, I feel it's not making sense for the police to start bringing up all these issues of investigation… investigation like this should be done on a low key…

I wouldn’t call anyone inferior to another, that’s just wrong. In my opinion, the Super Eagles team are suffering from bad management and lack of drive from the players. I made a joke some days ago that if Nigeria had qualified for the World Cup, we would have heard stories of players being owed salaries and probably a training boycott. Personally, I feel like there are only a few players in the Super Eagles who are passionate about playing for the country, the rest are just there for points.

Such a news will most definitely drain and ruin your mood. I can recall how the football world reacted to the news of Jota who played for Liverpool.
No teammate of him would love this news, it will cause an emotional damage especially to fellow players who shared a good bond with him right before his passing. Thoughts are with them all. My sincere condolences.

If we want to play the blame game as what have being going with the Nigeria supper Eagle then I must say that alot of things is not I palace and corruption, bad management and lack of motivation and support for your country is what is killing the supper Eagles, but as much as that if everyone need to take responsibility and begin to take action that alignment can produce success for the supper Eagle going forward.

Sometimes what compliments or contribute to their success as a team is their ability to play together and play well as a team, because we've seen how big countries against some other smaller countries do end up being losing because they underestimate a team.

With no African country left in the World Cup I'm very sure European teams will start to analyze and push for a move for some of the breakout stars from Africa.

The Xenophobic attacks are against foreigners and not a well-known player like Jayden Adams. I don't think his death is connected to the protests against immigrants. The cause of the death has not been officially announced by the South African authorities. Social media and other news platforms have several rumours about the cause of his death.  Some said it was food poisoning, and others reported that he was depressed.  We would have to wait for official news about the cause of his death

I am so gutted getting to hear about the demise of this south African player because he was a vibrant young man that died too young, and this is a sad day for African football generally because such a talented player has been lost to the cold of death. I just pray that God in his infinite mercy strengthened the bereaved to bear this irreplaceable loss.

Right now the cause of his death has not been made pubic, since the police is still doing some investigation on the potential cause of his death, though rumours are saying that he may have killed himself due to depression, but that's just a rumour, until the police has come up with something concrete, we should believe anything that is not official yet.
