If we should do the logic, you are very right. Among the four clubs that are in the group D, only Nigeria has lost two matches, the remaining three clubs have neither lost nor won themselves but they all drew.

The next match is against Congo. Are we to be confident in the Nigerian team to win against Congo? Even if they win against Congo, the win is taking them nowhere with 3 points.

I doubt if Nigeria can win Congo because of the matches that have been played. Nigeria played so bad and performed woefully.

I am not even disappointed. Rather I would say that I am disappointment-proof because I start any of the super-eagles games without any expectations. In fact to make me more indifferent, I expect that the Super-Eagles will lose to their opponents before the start of the match, that way my blood pressure doesn't go high why the match is on. But on a more serious note, the implications of a drop in ratings for the team doesn't look to me like a motivating factor for them to do better. We must find something that deeply motives us from within that should make us strive for the championship. With our past outing which has not been encouraging, I don't know if there is still any hope for this to happen.

Eric Chelle assistant coach is the head coach of Remo Stars and he brought in 6 Remo Stars players in the first game with Senegal and they loss the game and in the second game again he brought 7 Remo Stars players and loss the game with 4-0. And those players were the best in the Remo Stars. 1 goal they could not score.

It's indeed a a sad day for the Home based Super Eagles. This might another indication that the Nigerian Football Federation didn't choose the right coach. Coach Eric Chelle have now been impressive since he resumed as the national team coach. Nigeria is technically out of the African Nations Championship, a sad realty indeed.

I don't think the fault lies solely with the coach, because the players poor performances are also to be blame. The selection process seems flawed, and it's embarrassing for Nigeria to have conceded 4 goals against Sudan. We have talented players in Nigeria, and even in a local team from one state they may have a strong lineup of players who can represent us effectively.  I am not trying to condemn them, but I always anticipate Nigeria to win over any African teams, and based on head-to-head records Nigeria outperformed Sudan. and as it is today, I don't think they have any possibility of qualifying for this African Nations Championship again because they are the last in the table.

One of the major problems that the coach has faced is the selection problem, trust me if a proper selection had been done, we wouldn't have lost to Sudan with those numbers of goals. An indigenous coach would have done a better selection by reflecting on the performance of each player from the domestic league, though he might have technical assistance from Nigeria but it would have been different if he was a Nigerian, at least nobody will tell him or recommend to him who to use, he would have selected based on his own assesment.

From the process that brought this coach in as head coach of the Nigerian national team there was allot of questions and talks because allot of people were not comfortable with the process truth be told this coach is not technical sound and we can see it with even the nation team and now the home based eagles, this is a result of what you get when you play politics with everything because a home based coach is better than this coach

I couldn't return back to this thread after thinking our National team can possibly do a comeback being down with 1 goal during the first half as of the first 25 minutes of the match. Nigerians are disappointed, streak losses in our Group D stage, the atmosphere created by Eric Chelle looks to be unfavorable, our Men side are failing both when we use international players and local players for competitions, the federation needs to look into this, it now seem like a coach problem.

How are you not disappointed? Also what reason did you think that Super Eagles would lose?

Thank goodness that I did not take the match because I prefer betting on clubs. Although, if I staked on the match, I would have used small amount to bet on the match. Those that bet on the match might be confident somehow, but our players absolutely disappointed us flawlessly.

Just as you have made mentioned i think the coaching selection process has been a major issue, and the a Nigeria coach might still have made different choices, potentially leading to better results, i think having a coach familiar with the domestic league and players could provide valuable insight, which would allow for more informed decisions.

You can't blame the players because it's said that when the head is spoilt there is nothing the tail can do he was the one that selected these players and looking at the team there is no technical input no intelligent play and even no tactics this is just to show that the coach is deficient when it comes to tactics because we can see it in his players

Because either the players were forced on the coach to use in the competition by the people who made the selections, or the coach did not take the selection process seriously enough to screen these players.

I knew that the quality of our local is poor, because any of the players that did well just for a season or two, are mostly transfered the next season to Europe or any other well organized league around the world, so I know that they are not that good enough to compete with the south African or the north Africans team that their leagues is very good and well organized, but to be frank here, I never thought that it's this bad, our main super eagles team can never disgrace us like this as you have rightfully said already, but in a situation like this, the only good lesson to take home is that our government and football federation will pay more attention to our league after this because in the history of our local league, their is no point in time we were this bad, so more measures needs to be put in place to improve the league because this is what we should make sure never happens again.

I know that the Super Eagles are playing with home-based players in the ongoing African Nations Championship, but the Super Eagles were supposed to defeat Senegal and Sudan. The performance of the Super Eagles in the ongoing African Nations Championship is terrible, and it has put them in a difficult situation to qualify for the knockout phase of the tournament. The Super Eagles failing to get a point after playing two matches in the ongoing African Nations Championship is already terrible for us, and I will not be surprised if they fail to win against Congo in their next match.

I don't think the result of the last game will matter a lot because even if they win, I don't think they will also qualify for the next stage of the competition. I'm probably thinking that maybe these players underestimated these other teams and expected that they were going to dominate this competition, so they did not put in the extra effort against the first two teams they've played. It'll be a shame because winning this competition would have been a very good opportunity to earn for themselves some good amount of money, considering that our president is being generous to sportspeople this period.

I think Nigeria's problem in their last two matches was underestimating their opponents. It's surprising that Sudan defeated them 4-0, which was a huge margin. And the team inside their group I expected Nigeria to have an easy win there, especially against Congo and Sudan, which they have already played with because they are the lesser team, and Nigeria has already lost to them. Their third match will be against Senegal, which I believe will be a strong opponent. Given Nigeria's performance in this tournament so far, I don't think they'll win against Senegal. Unfortunately, they've already missed their chances to qualify, which were against Congo and Sudan.

When you see results like this coupled with the result against Senegal, you just wonder how the players who went to represent us were selected. Were they the best home players that we had, or did they pay their way to the spot? It paints a poor image of the quality of our local league and homebased players.

Sudan national football team played very excellent in the last match as that team did excellent in last match and did 4 goals in this match. No player of opponent team could do any goal in this match and match was ended with one sided result. Raouf was a dominant person in this match because he did 2 goals in this match and he did his  first goal at 55 minutes and no person could could oppose the goals of Sudan national football team because their goals were accurate. Ngenge was a person who did first goal of the match and he did this goal at 25 minutes when it was requirement of team and we saw back to back goals by that team and Nigeria national football team stats was good in this match but they could not win this match.

If you're very familiar with the NFF terrain, you will know that some of these players come from various recommendations from the hierarchy of the Nigerian football federation, even recently an interview was conducted on Brown ideye, he confirmed that his name was removed from the 2014 World Cup squad, because he had some disagreement with certain individual that was so powerful and had connections with the Nigerian football federation. So for me, i believe this players that were selected for this competition came under serious recommendation to the coach and the coach being a non-indigene who hasn't really taken his time to go through the league and various club to select players, he wouldn't have any choice than to obey the instructor given to him by those that hired him.

I haven't been following the African Nations Championship, but after I read your post, I immediately checked the group of the Super Eagles, and I was so disappointed when I saw the Super Eagles at the bottom of the Group D table with zero points. Now I see the reason why you said that the Super Eagles' performance put them out of the tournament because even though they beat Congo, they will still not qualify for the knockout phase of the tournament.
