Most countries have good players but still don't do well when it comes to international duties, blaming the players is not right because at times game pattern plays a vital role in players performance, the coach in charge and condition of service also should be considered especially for African players that there nations never capture there welfare Emerging, a player playing under Amorim's 3 - 4 - 2-1 formation going to play under slot's 4-2-3-1, how do you think his performance will be knowing fully well they don't have much time to practice together and understand each other when it comes to international duties, so drawing conclusion on there individual performance should be after putting all this factors into consideration.
That's why they're professional, the formation is not an excuse cause most of them if not all have played for different clubs and with different coaches using different format so as professional they're supposed to adapt to any formation. I'll only blame a coach when he fails to know the rightful position that would be suitable for every player and the right substitutions to make and change the dynamic of the team when they're not doing well.

In the last African Cup of Nations tournament, the performance of the super eagles was so bad that all the countries they played against in the tournament were better than them when it comes to ball possession. The super eagles were lucky to score goals against their opponents in the tournament. Ivory Coast couldn't beat their opponents in the group stage of the African of Cup Nations tournament, but they qualified for the knockout stage of the tournament as best losers. I expected the super eagles to beat Ivory Coast easily in the African Cup of Nations finals, but what did the super eagles do? They gave up their one goal lead against Ivory Coast, and Ivory Coast came from behind and beat the super eagles in the finals.
You didn't say the part were Nigerians were cheated. I think African cup of nation tournament need to be reevaluate by the FIFA. In the last African cup of nation, in the final Nigerians weren't even allow to go in, just few people and Ivory coast were filled up to the brim and were making the game harder for Nigeria to concentrate. Anytime they have a kick off to play, they shout to make confusion, honestly we weren't that good but Nigerian players deserves some praise. Look at what the Moroccans did to our female players that went to the final, they were shinning LED light on Nigerian female players so they couldn't see. This wasn't talk about after the game, they were busy crying with manipulated faces saying the referee was paid and all sort of talks that weren't meaningful. They didn't complain when they were leading, it was later they started all the talk but Nigeria won the cup already, we will be there again by next year. I watched the finals between the super eagles and Ivory Coast, and i didn't know that the super eagles were cheated by Ivory Coast in the last African cup of nations finals. I was thinking the cheating was that the referee disallowed the super eagles's goal, or the referee awarded Ivory Coast a penalty with a foul that's not supposed to be a foul, and it led to the super eagles losing to Ivory Coast in the finals. But if the cheating you are talking about is just about Ivory Coast having more fans than Nigeria in the stadium, it is not enough reason for the super eagles to lose to Ivory Coast in the last African cup of nations finals.

Even when the right person is appointed the super Eagles head coach, we also have problems with him in choosing the right players to play for team without making biased selection and politicizing their choice of players.
Yeah this is happening because of the "you owe us mentality. The coaches are getting appointments not based on merits but based on connections they have and people that can do what the cartels want. This is a playground for most of the politicians because they choose people that they have relationships with to get into the national team. They're using their influence to give their people visibility without caring about how it's affecting the team play. We have reduced from the footballing nation we used to be known for to a joke now and haven't won the AFCON tournament in like more than a decade.

Does Amorim uses only one formation? It will not be Yes, because he usually give different formation and there are other match we saw new things so actually if those other ones were also effective, having this other one by the players in different place shouldn't become something on understandable or hard for them so actually the formation you are thinking to be what is causing it is a problem of compatibility, the super eagles are not the only case study on this but every countries in the world but out of technically by the coach and players adhering to him, they surpasses a lot of bad formation so why not the eagles also adhere to it.

Most of the West African countries big footballing nations are in the rebuilding phases just like the Super eagles Although we are aware that the Super Eagles have not yet accomplished anything with this group of players, we must keep in mind that they are the current AFCON runner-up and have outperformed some of our West African football rivals, like Ghana and Cameron, during the past 5 years. Even though the nations I named are in far worse shape than we are, we don't see their supporters scolding them the way we do our players. We ought to focus on the long term and accept whatever we get now because it's a new project with younger players who have less experience.

True but we have players playing better for their national team than their clubs. Cucurella form picked up with spain before it started showing in his performance at club level.
Cucurella was always brilliant for Brighton and Hove Albion. I don't think it's bad if we ask our players to do the same for us. I don't see any player (apart from Osimhen) giving his best to the national team.
What i see in this thread is not people asking for better perfromance from the Super Eagles, it is endless criticism, even when it isn't necessary. One user was criticizing the Super Eagles for finishing runner-up in the last AFCON, of course i wanted us to win it, but it didn't happen, but how can someone say the team that finished second position had a terrible tournament. I don't know if some people who post in this thread actually watch football. You won't see Moroccan players act the way our Nigerian players are acting same can be said about most nations in the continent.
And what is special about the Moroccan national team, 1 AFCON win in their history, as far back as 1976, and one good World Cup outing and you sound like they are a bigger nation in African football than the team that has won three times and have been runner-up multiple times. That said, i know it is typical of Nigerians to bring down their own at every opportunity.

Thats the settings here and how will it change, it can only change when we have a system that believe in transparency and merit system of whether appointment, it has become very worrisome in our football settings to see politicians taking over everything, too bad, there dressing alone when we have football matches will tell you that those guys are not sports people, they are just their on appointment bases carrying out the instructions of their bosses not minding what what may may likely happen to our national team as far as they can syphone money meant for running of the team, I get pissed discussing things that has to do with Nigerian football because our leaders have made everything to look like a joke.

Cucurella was always brilliant for Brighton and Hove Albion. I can attest to that on Cucurrella he was a brilliant left-back all that time with Brighton he made an improvement on his brilliance on joining Chelsea. I don't think it's bad if we ask our players to do the same for us. I don't see any player (apart from Osimhen) giving his best to the national team.

I don't know if some people who post in this thread actually watch football. A better performance will produce the expected results the fans are taxing from the super eagles and from all have seen the users in this thread asking for is that the super eagles should live up to expectations in the energy they give for their individual clubs. There is a level of team-effort the super eagles will give in this tournament qualifiers and the people will be satisfied that they tried their best, and not this average results. You won't see Moroccan players act the way our Nigerian players are acting same can be said about most nations in the continent.

You'll see Achraf Hakimi giving equal and even more energy when playing for his country as he does for PSG. We use to notice this in the super eagles of Jay-jay Okaocha, Kano Nwankwo, Babayaro etc times. The super eagles we have now are made of players who are more interested in making money than making names and making the country proud. It is not about bringing down of any one.

, I have begun to doubt the capacity of Éric Chelle.
You're praying for the Super Eagles to qualify in the World but also pray that they should not qualify because definitely they give us heart attack. So preferably they should just stay at home. The selection of the recent two matches by Eric Chelle was not good. He would have used the normal players and only bring in like 2 or 3 of the home base players. But some of the ex players said they didn't blame the coach but the players. All that is not the issue now, Nigeria should just forget about the tournament this time and prepare themselves in the next tournament. They can't do anything again. Finidi came and sidelined some of the good players and suffered defeat. Eric came abandoned the current players and use home base which was hand picked by the assistant coach from his National Team, Remo Stars boys. will the country's sports be able to allocate much funds to make such decisions a reality? I think Allocating sufficient funds for sports development in Nigeria seems to be very challenging, which the government should be the many primary funders and administrators of sports in the country, however from i could say is that inadequate funding is a significant issue, honestly speaking many sports organization's and program lack support and suffering are from sufficient funding to provide necessities facilities, equipment and supplies.

Ivory Coast national football team played very well in the last match which they played against Nigeria national football team. They have won the match by doing 2 goals in this match and Kessié was a person who did important goal for the team when it was required and he did this goal at 62 because before this goal match was in the side of Nigeria football team. Haller was a person who did last goal of the match and he did this goal at 81 minutes. The shots of Ivory Coast national football team were more in this match which were 18 and 8 shots were on target and possession percentage of that team was also brilliant in this match which was 63 percent in this match and passes of that team were also high in this match which were 410 .

Lol, the same Morocco were eliminated in the Round of 16 of the 2023 AFCON, losing 2-0 to South Africa. And the Super Eagles with players that are not "zealous" and do not want to play well for their country made it to the final of the tournament, and defeated South Africa in the Semifinal. You guys are trying so hard to make up a conspiracy theory that keeps failing to add up.

Nice win for Morocco as the came back from a goal down to win 2:3 this win is a statement that when it comes to African football Morocco is a leading force but the surprise package for me in this tournament was Madagascar

Yeah this is happening because of the "you owe us mentality. The coaches are getting appointments not based on merits but based on connections they have and people that can do what the cartels want. This is a playground for most of the politicians because they choose people that they have relationships with to get into the national team. We have reduced from the footballing nation we used to be known for to a joke now and haven't won the AFCON tournament in like more than a decade. Checking past histories, we saw that Nigeria was the best team in Africa and anytime they represents Africa, they usually do well and their opponents were afraid of them. Nigeria performance and rating in the world ranking has drastically reduced even when we have good players representing us and playing outside the country, we don’t get to produce good results. The problem is from the coach in selecting the best players that best fit to be played but since politics is involved, we may never get to witness any progress from the super eagles now. Hopefully if this is rectified, we will see a better super eagles once again.

These are Nigerians most likely to make a possible switch to the Premier League before the transfer window comes to an end by 7pm today. Samuel Chukwueze is the most anticipated for me, the likes of Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi must have engineered his move over to the Premier League Competition. Regardless regardless, I want to see all three thrive and shine for their respective club. We need a ready sqaud ahead of the FIFA World Cup Competition.

I love to see our players play in the premier league because I see this league as the best in the world and even though we don't what to accept the truth, I don't see other leagues as competitive as the premier league. The hype and attention is here so when you perform well, you'll be getting the recognition that you deserve. Chukwueze is now a Fulham player and I'm delighted with this switch. At Fulham he'll get lots of the spotlight that he needs for his career and with his week in and out performances from him and others coming in,to the league, we can get a stronger and more inform squad for the upcoming games for Nigeria.

The premier league is the best league and the most competitive in the world, and anybody that doesn't agree that premier league is the best league and the most competitive league in the world is just being bias or the person is just starting to follow football recently. I didn't know Chukwueze is now a Fulham play maybe it is because haven't been following transfer window for the past 3 days. I am happy Chukwueze joined Fulham in the transfer deadline day because his move to Fulham will help him develop into a good player, and he and Alex Iwobe will understand each other very well, which will be a big bonus for us when they play for the super eagles.

Messi never tasted the best league in the world which is the English premier league, as a good player that has never played in the english premier league before going for retirement try and play in the English league, Chukwueze coming to Fulham is a nice move he is a good baller and he will be more known now that he is in the best league Chukwueze will be a great here if he remain consistent without getting injuries that will not keep his presence in the football pitch.

Nigerians are making waves globally and this Chukwueze's move to Fulham is another milestone and if he makes it to their first 11 which he would hopefully, it will mean that Fulham now fields 3 Nigerians in the first 11 including Iwobi and Calvin Basset. Asissat Oshoala is also heading to Al-hilal too. These are rare milestones and she's that Nigerians are doing great. Chukwueze will score enough goals in Fulham and I can bet he would score on his debut in front of the fans.

On Saturday, 6th of September, Nigeria would face Rwanda in our World Cup qualifying match. The first leg in Rwanda, ended in a 2-0 victory for the Super Eagles, that is sadly our only victory in the qualifiers so far.
That said, what are your score predictions for this match? The venue is the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, and i am sure the stadium will be filled to capacity, with fans cheering on the Super Eagles. It is a must-win game, if we fail to win, we can kiss our chances of playing in the 2026 WC goodbye. My prediction is a 2-0 victory for the Super Eagles, same result as the first leg away from home.
