Absolutely.. Winning Benin Republic didn't gives us a chance to qualify to the playoff. The goals he scored gave us hope while the last goal scored by Onyeka sealed it for the Super Eagles.

I honestly didn't expect our super eagles to win Benin republic by 4 goals to nil, but victor osimhen and his comrades rose up to the occasion and deliver the much needed convincing winning that gave them a lifeline, but to be honest, they wouldn't have struggled like this if they were performing like this throughout the qualifying series, but that's by the way.

Only one team will qualify for the continental play off stage. I pray the Super Eagles exact the same effort they put in today on every game in the playoff. I will rather lose to qualify in the intercontinental playoff than in the continental playoff.

I initially thought that it was two teams that would qualify, I don't know that it's just one,  but if our super eagles can put in a performance like they did against Benin republic, I don't think any of these opponent can stop them from not making it to the world cup next year.

Also Osimhem, showed us that he is a word class player and saved us from shame in African football. I am fucking tired of all these calculations, but because we want to see the super eagles play in the world cup, we are going to keep calculating to know how possible it is for the super eagles to qualify for the world cup. We found ourselves in this condition because Victor Osimhen didn't feature in the super eagles 10 qualifying matches. The next thing for the super eagles is to play in the playoffs. I saw a different super eagles against Benin, and if they maintain the same performance in the playoffs, we can qualify for the world cup through the playoffs.

The super eagles out performed themselves yesterday compared to most of their previous matches, at first Benin republic seemed unbeatable for the super eagles but coordinated player performance with Osimhen starting his scoring streak very early in the match served as a discouragement to the opposing team, they just seemed stunned, unable to put their own team in order against the super eagles which was ultimately what paved the way for Osimhen to score his other two goals and for Onyeka to be able to net the final goal, if they keep up with this kind of player performance then the playoffs won't be too much of a stress for them and qualifying for the World cup would be a breeze.

If the super eagles has been performing this way in there other matches they wouldn't be waiting to get playoff to get them qualify to the world cup, i see victor Osimhen as the only determine player in the super eagles squad if other players has been serious as Osimhen Nigeria would have qualify without even going for a playoff but i believe they will now be serious since they still have another second chance to qualify by winning there play off matches which i believe they will qualify unless Victor Osimhen had an injury that will keep him absent  in their play off matches.

Because we would have won our group convincingly if we had perform in such a manner from the beginning of this world cup qualifiers.
All the players did very well, but the two people that really caught my attention was victor osimhen and bassey, they were the mover of the ship yesterday in their encounter against Benin republic, and to be honest, we are blessed for having a striker like victor osimhen in our ranks, so if we can maintain such a performance in this upcoming playoff matches coming up, we are going to qualify without much stress.

I’m not impressed by the Nigerian team even though they won the game, why do they have to wait till this point before they could at least show a good performance, all through the qualifying round they’ve not even won a game 3 nil and today they are expecting people to be happy with their performance, well other people can be happy with their performances but for me, Super Eagles is a mess, and I can’t be supporting a team that doesn’t show any seriousness until when it’s hard, my question would be what makes them think they will qualify from the playoffs, it’s a more tougher phase than the one they allowed South Africa to take from them, Nigeria had everything they need to qualify for the world cup in an easy way, We have more European based players, but they couldn’t show themselves, I can only compare Nigeria with Senegal in terms of quality players in their team, but it was hard for Nigeria and that is shameful and a disgrace to the fans, we have more quality players than Ghana, Egypt, Cape Verde, Morocco, South Africa, Ivory Coast, Tunisia, Algeria.

I initially thought that it was two teams that would qualify, I don't know that it's just one,  but if our super eagles can put in a performance like they did against Benin republic, I don't think any of these opponent can stop them from not making it to the world cup next year.

I had thought so myself but after doing a thorough assess on the total teams that would be contesri in the World Cup I realised it can't be two teams qualifying from each group but just one. The playoffs wouldn't be any easy despite the look of the other teams that Nigeria may be playing against there. It's actually a long walk of games and should our boys not maintain a high performance in the playoffs they might not get lucky as they did in the group stage because IMHO, Benin Republic would have been more deserving to that second place in the group, but football is unpredictable.

I think their performance yesterday was driven out of the fact that the knew if they didn't get a win with good number of goals, then it wi be the end of the road to qualify for the world cup, so they had to put in their best. This is what they would have done from the beginning of this qualifier series, because even the South Africa that qualified from our group did not even qualify with much points.

Now they have to face Gabon for the African playeroff, if the succeed in winning, they might probably meet tougher countries during the intercontinental playoff,  so for me this route we are using to qualify is strenuous and difficult.

African football has gone beyond when the countries with the highest number of players in Europe easily win games. Sometimes it is even better to have more home-based players in the national team because they can easily blend since they train together longer. North African national teams are made up of many local league players.

Yes, we didn't give our best when it mattered most but you would have exempt Victor Osimhen. He had always given his best to Nigeria. Check the matches he played, he was patriotic and did all he could.  But regardless of the past, the good thing now is that we have hope to be in the World Cup.

But Nigeria will secure a 4 - 0 victory, this was an unimaginable result. We have not seen Nigeria win by such a big margin in the previous matches. But this  match was a do or die match for Nigeria. So the Nigerian players tried their best  to win by a big margin. And they succeeded.

We saw the great performance of nigeria's star player osimhen on this field. Osimhen was able to score a hat-trick. Also Samuel Chukweze and Moses Simon made two assists each.

After defeating the Squirrels of Benin, the Super Eagle has top 2 second in the group stage  with 17 points and 7 goals.
The Super Eagles have qualified to play in the round of play off. They will be facing 4 teams, as seen in the image. However the chances of qualifying for the world cup is a slim chance. Even if they win the continental stage of the play off, they will have to face other teams in the intercontinental stage of the play off.

Anyway good game from the today. If they initially started  like this, it would have been a different story now.

I'm not even sure if the Super Eagles will win the continental stage of the play-off to qualify for the intercontinental stage of the play-off because the three teams they will play against are strong teams. If the Super Eagles want to have a chance of winning the continental stage of the play-off, they need to show more seriousness because they will face stronger teams in the continental stage of the play-off than the ones they faced during the group stage of the World Cup qualifiers.

Same here, I'm not even sure they will be able to beat their opponent. According  to this image, there are 4 teams and only one winner is needed to represent Africa in the inter-confederations playoffs where they will fight with other teams from other continents for a WC ticket. Well get put themselves in this mess in general first place, if they had won their group, they wouldn't be needing to play a play off match in the first place.

According to a post by Fabrizio Romano, after the Super Eagles of Nigeria won Benin by a whooping 4:0 defeat today, they have qualified for the play-off round which is quite interesting but my question is that can the Super Eagles scale through the play-off round and qualify for the world cup proper? It will make no sense after all these struggles and they couldn't make it to the world cup at last, it will just be like a wasted effort and i don't want them to experience such. At least for the sake of Victor Osimhen who has made wonderful performance in the qualifier matches, i wish Nigeria will qualify so that he can play at the 2026 world cup because it will be so painful that a world class player like Victor Osimhen will be nowhere to be found at the world cup due to his country not being able to qualify.

So far, that was the most Interesting match I watched the Super Eagles play in the FIFA World Cup qualification tournament, I even had to keep rewatching the goals scored by Victor Osimhen after the match and all I can say is that he's a wonderful player and deserves all the praises he got yesterday, I'm really proud of the Super Eagles, Victor Osimhen especially.

 Although they disappointed me and I believe some spectators at large also but they've made up for their mess with yesterday's victory, the match taught me that the Super Eagles really missed Victor Osimhen in those matches they couldn't win comfortably, if he was available I believe they would've easily qualified for the World Cup, Victor is indeed a Superstar player.

Nigeria will play Gabon in the play-off round while Cameroon will play against DR Congo which means that if Nigeria wins Gabon, they will be meeting the winners between Cameroon or DRC after which they will qualify for an international playoff to determine if Africa will make it 10 countries at the world cup since 9 countries have already gained qualification. Despite that we have condemned the outing of the Super Eagles in the qualification round but for the fact that they made a remarkable performance yesterday and qualified for the playoff round, i think there is need for us to give them our support. On paper Nigeria is the favorite team because it's better than Cameroon, which is the other strong team. Then we have Gabon and DR Congo, and they are just average teams. Nigeria can actually make it!

Have you watch these sides play?! Lol. Nigeria has big names all around the world but on the pitch? Where it's all decided? Lol, you'd want to throw your yourself on the floor rolling. Cameroon and Gabon wouldn't be easy fixtures, but Congo could be aced swiftly. Look, I'm Italian, and I would say that both national teams are in the same position: long football tradition, excellent results in the past, now we're both playing with players that probably 20 years ago wouldn't have never been called for a friendly match but just like I think Italy is better than any other team we're going to face in the playoffs, so do I with Nigeria. Osimhen is playing with the mindset of patriotism and not any other things like they are not paying well or anger among themselves. He is very angry now that they didnt qualify in the first instant. But I believed they qualify from the second playoff stage. But the issue is not even the qualification, but the sustaining ability of the group stages and throughout the tournerment.

Nigeria need to step up or wake from there slumber yea, because if they have been winning like they did yesterday I don't think the struggle to qualify would have been too much rather it would have been soft and easy one for them but now they need to go all hard and it is a must win game before they can be able to qualify. There performance yesterday was not impressive for me regardless of the scorelines, they didn't play like people who are hungry to play football and like people who want to qualify I would say luck was on there side yesterday and instead of Nigeria to qualify and won't make out through first stage I would suggest they rather not qualify.
