I don’t know why we are still talking about the hotel saga. The information you have on the issue is incorrect. Alex Iwobi has already cleared the air about the video and most sports online pages have taken the video down from their page and whatever report they made at the time.

I think the picture of Alex Iwobi in one of the rooms was what made it look like it was real. Maybe he was trying to catch cruise or go sightseeing at the Hotel.

This is as a result of media in the wrong hands. Media is supposed to be a tool to promote peace by disseminating positive information but unfortunately it has now become a tool to promote hatred and cause chaos among people by spreading fake and hurtful content. It's always good to verify every information you come across on media from appropriate sources before you believe or reshare the content. I understand our grievance if our super eagle are lodged in under standard hotel but we should consider the factors that led to that decision just as it's stated in your quotation. Moreover, this is Africa country and much should not be expected from them compare to our counterparts in the Europe or Asia. What matters is winning the game and come back fit.

You are missing the point. While the players individually train regularly with their club sides and keep fit with weekly matches, they do not have the opportunity of playing together as a team so every training section is very crucial to the team development and success.

I just saw this post on Facebook and if this is really true it’s an insult on the Super Eagles and the Nigerian Football Federation, how can they select or chose such a place for them. These are not just street footballers, there are World stars and wealthy men representing their National team.
The way CAF or FIFA disregard Nigeria in some things is becoming very alarming, first they allowed officials from South Africa and Benin to officiate such a serious match without considering all the bias that may arise.

I want to ask you a question from this comment i saw on this post, what does South Africa have to do with super eagles when they're not the country they are going to meet? Because somebody on the comments said it was the South Africa that gave them the place to stay. I don't no how the real look of this building is since we are only viewing it like this but however from this reaction of this super eagles player shows that is not okay for them to stay considering places they have been, this is the first or second time they have feel unpleasant on away match that has to do with there hotel accommodation.

I think That comment is probably because of the ongoing banter between us and South Africa and the fact that they were first contacted to officiate the match.


We’re almost close to the all important kickoff of today’s game, the Nigeria vs Gabon CAF qualifiers match. The story that is flying on social media that Morocco football association lodged the super eagles in a hotel that is below their standard is false because Alex Iwobi, who posted the picture on social media, has cleared the air that he was only showing a poor area in Morocco. Even if the story was true, the super eagles should not have been in this situation if they had qualified for the world cup automatically. CAF or FIFA doesn't have the right to detect the type of hotels players will lodge in because that is not part of their duty. The Morocco football association is responsible in allocating hotels to Gabon and Nigeria.

I honestly don’t understand why Alex Iwobi would post a picture complaining about the poor hotel the Super Eagles were lodged in. To me, that shouldn’t even be the main issue right now. If they had played well and qualified straight without having to go for a playoff in Morocco, there wouldn’t be any need for all this drama about the hotel.

Instead of focusing on the state of the hotel or trying to prove a point online, they should put all their energy into preparing and beating Gabon. That’s what really matters. Complaining about comfort or hotel standards doesn’t change anything, good performance on the pitch does. Any form of excuses won't help them beat Gabon.

My expectation and adrenine was very high during the normal qualification process, I prayed and wished that Nigeria should qualify. But after the normal qualification process, it seems that I am not that much concerned again about the outcome of today's match and if Nigeria will qualify for the World Cup or not.

Nigeria actually do not deserve the World Cup, there are a lot of corruption in the NFF. Their recent action with fever, where the mismanaged huge amount of money given to them by FIFA has exposed the low mentality of those leading Nigeria in the global world. To be honestv, this is the first time I have heard of gabon. I have  never seen any match of this team in the past. So I checked how Gabon has performed in the last  few matches.

Gabon has been undefeated for a long time. The last time they lost was against Niger  on June 7. Gabon has won four of their next five matches and drawn one. Gabon's performance  against  a relatively weak squad is quite strong.
Anyway , I do not see the possibility of gabon winning  against Nigeria today. Gabon may be in good form but Nigeria's squad is quite strong in Africa. I am betting on Nigeria to win.
