I can’t take African football seriously any more. It is a disgrace what they are trying to do to Senegal, it just totally shits on the whole rule of competitive, top level football. You can not keep any seriousness in AFCON if months after fairly winning it, you strip Senegal of their title, it’s outrageous.
CAF's decision to strip Senegal off the African Cup of Nations has ruined African football, so I don't blame anyone who doesn't take African football seriously. Senegal is the legitimate winners of the African Cup of Nations, and it's unfair that CAF is trying so hard to strip them off the trophy. A lot of people are against CAF's decision, so Senegal should stand firmly in their decision of not returning the African Cup of Nations to Morocco.

It can happen anywhere in the world, not just in African football. The rules are the rules, CAF is sticking to the rules.

As I have said before, the mistake CAF made was to let favoritism get the best of the referees during the AFCON. If the officiating had been fair, it wouldn't have led to the drama on the final day.

At the same time, corruption is everywhere. Corruption is in European football. Not just in African football.
This judgement became more controversial because Senegal have already been declared champions. It would have been fair if the referee had ended the game and awarded the match to Morroco immediately the Senegalese team left the pitch. CAF would have been implemented immediately. Waiting after few months to award Morroco the trophy looks immature. FIFA is the headquarters of corruption in sports.

It cannot happen in Europe, you’re just saying CAF is holding on to the rules which they themselves neglected in the first place, it is very embarrassing to see that after so many weeks after the  AFCON, CAF and whatever court is coming to change the outcome of a finals where celebrations and medals were handed over to the team by the CAF themselves.
This is not a case of fielding an illegible player or hiding something from the officials. This was an offence that happened openly and publicly and Judgement or punishment was not given immediately,..
Where have you heard that such a thing happened before as is this situation we have here?!!…

Almost everyone seem to share the same opinion on this issue. As much as this is quite embarrassing and shame for African football, I want to believe that this should serve as a wake up call to the younger generations of Africans to get involved in CAF and move up to the leadership level as well as other organizations that is responsible for football on the continent. Doing so, they will be able to stand for what’s right and if possible during their time prevent this type of ridiculous decisions by CAF.

CAF has killed African football with this decision that they have taken to strip off Senegal of their title for reasons best known to them. It's clear at this moment that Caf clearly had an agenda before the start of the Afcon and that was to hand over the trophy to Morocco and it was openly shown in the way that the referees handled the games involving Morocco, this is an international embarrassment that CAF has brought to it self.

From all these happening right now, I will not take CAF seriously because, this is a big mockery to Africa football, which is always exciting and fun to follow. Just imagine CAF handing over the title to another team from the comfort of their office, this is really a shame.

What Afcon could have done is to just let this slide because at this point os already too late to withdraw the Trophy and I don't know what exactly has delayed this judgment to this point,  if truly there was a case against the finals, if there is a walk out there shouldn't have continued the match or better declared the opposition as winner outrightly in that point.

If what happened in the African Cup of Nations final happens in Europe in this 21st century, the team that walked out of the pitch when the referee haven't blow the final whistle will automatically lose the match while the team that remain on the pitch will automatically win the match, so I believe such a scenario would never happen in Europe even though Europe isn't free from corruption. A lot of people weren't in support of Senegal walking out of the pitch when the final was still ongoing, and CAF should have declared Morocco the winners of the 2025/2026 African Cup of Nations since article 82 gives them the power to do so but since CAF failed to make use of article 82 when it was needed they should forget about what happened in the final.

It started with Morocco harassing players and fans of the opposing countries, with the magnitude of offense created by the Moroccan team, they should be the ones in a hot seat, their actions truly shattered the whole fairness in African competition, I don't blame anyone who is currently looking down on African competitions, because attitudes of this manner are what is frequently seen in a lower division competition, where the federation can be biased or have their support for one side.
I don't know why CAF have refused to see the truth in the recent AFCON, Moroccan players and their fans where not well behaved during the AFCON tournament, yet nobody is blaming them nor saying anything. Moroccans where busy bullying other companies citizens, troubling their players l, especially their goalkeepers by taking their towels still CAF have said have not anything concerning that. Rather they went to revoke the title and order Senegal to return it to moroco. And with the way things went in the recent AFCON tournament I don't think I would be interested in the next AFCON and those to come.

At the same time, corruption is everywhere. Corruption is in European football. Not just in African football.
This judgement became more controversial because Senegal have already been declared champions It would have been fair if the referee had ended the game and awarded the match to Morroco immediately the Senegalese team left the pitch. CAF would have been implemented immediately. Waiting after few months to award Morroco the trophy looks immature. FIFA is the headquarters of corruption in sports.
I just think that justice was just served immediately that would’ve been the best scenario, I don’t even know what Senegal is appealing because CAF have already done what is on there mind, football in Africa is now a laughing stock, and nobody is innocent, because Senegal dragged African football to the ground, and Morocco also had some guilty decisions on the field what was happening with behind the Goalkeepers, well I have come to understand that football In Africa have been destroyed mostly by the recent concluded African Nations Cup final, so right now there is no going back, Senegal should walk away from this horrible situation.

The CAF president is from South Africa, a part of West Africa which the decisions supposed to be favoring Senegal, but how being biased to favor Morocco is still not understandable, i don't mean for him to be biased but sports fairness is lacking in the federation. Humans are the same, corny people mostly fill up those top positions, same way we have the bad ones ruling the country.

The did has been done already and the they didn't automatically award winning to Morocco after the Senegalese team were leaving the pitch and they left everything to play out in the way it did and Senegal won the trophy 🏆 at last. I don't see reason why the court now ruled that the trophy be given to the Moroccan national team, for what basis? this is indeed a biased ruling in my opinion.

Really it sounds harsh for the Senegal side and very unfavorable outcome by the officials, I think what should have been done is for them to own up to their mistakes and there by finding a way to settle the issues through backdoor negotiations between both parties, and also making sure that Moroccan get the rewards even without the trophy, this could be double spending on the officials but yes that is the most favorable way to sort this kind of issues.

It really still amazes me to see how CAF can be sometime unjustifiably corrupt most time..yeah you are very correct about the Moroccan in the last AFCON…well the truth is that people refuse to even see the facts about what happens and it so unfair..and it even discouraging to see how this guys are using their own hands to kill out the AFCON vibes from fans which they might be losing interest to watch or show in the next AFCON…

There is no justification to back up this no matter how they want to quote What Senegal did on the pitch. They left the field, even me I would have done the same if I see that I'm getting cheated. The world saw what the referee was doing on that field and everyone cried about it. So what? Does that means they have broken any law that violate Afcon transparency. Let's say they want to take action and all that, why not do it there or days after the Final but it took them forever.

Since I have been watching Afcon, only super eagles makes me get interest in it, anyone we played that Nigeria doesn't qualify, I lose interest immediately but if that decision to stripped off Senegal of this trophy, I will stop watching Afcon, maybe we may see the trophy won by other countries including that of Nigeria won some decade to given back to other countries since they don't want to use their common sense to make judgment anymore.

Nigeria 2 - 1 Iran.
It is funny to see absurd talks here about Super Eagles replacing Iran then seeing them playing a friendly match weeks later. Of course this is a testing match, I wasn't aware of, I just saw the result and wonder if anyone here watched it. This result is not good for Iran ahead of the World Cup especially that I heard that they were forbidden from going or playing against enemy countries according to them.

Austria 5 - 1 Ghana
That's not a good result weeks before the World Cup. They literally were destroyed by Austrian.

Nigeria’s international friendly match against Iran was quite touching beyond just football. I really liked how the Iranian players held up that banner to mourn the death of over 167+ young girls who were victims of such a devastating situation. It shows that football is more than just a game.
Football is truly beautiful, it brings joy, unity and also gives players a platform to show support and humanity in difficult times. Moments like this remind us how connected the world is, even through sports. The Iranian team also showed good quality on the pitch and I would really love to see them participate in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Most importantly, I just hope the conflict comes to an end soon and peace is restored.

It is important that you begin to ask questions in some certain things. Is it FIFA that schedules this kind of friendlies or the countries involved agreed to play each other. I am asking why the choice of Nigeria by this time that the Northern Nigeria are protesting in solidarity with Iran.

Is this a signal to the Iran Government that Nigeria is standing with them? I hope US will not misinterpret this gesture. It seems like football is becoming more political shaa.
