With this coach they have known that they weren't going for the world Cup with a coach the country did not trust, Alex Ferguson expertise in the premier League is still respected even when he is not coaching anymore so since this new Ghana coach was his assistant before, he would no how to be creative with the Ghanaian team. The country most have spend much to bring him in coaching them, if it was super eagles Africa is were they could have stopped in search of coach because high expenses will make them no to. Senegal is a country that could use this kind of coach to enhance all the match they would play because the needed players for any coach is on the team.

Ghana did not trust this coach, they just see him as good option over their formal coach who showed incompetence in Ghana friendly matches against Australia and Germany, Alex Ferguson is still respected as one of the best coaches even as he is not coaching again but that is not proof Carlos Queiroz will do well with Ghana national team in the world cup because his philosophy and Alex Ferguson philosophy are different. Bringing in foreign coach involve plenty of money, so i agree Ghana football federation spent much to bring in Carlos Queiroz from Portugal, if the super eagles of Nigeria want a foreign coach to coach them, Nigeria football federation will bring in one and expenses will not be a problem to that because plenty of foreign coaches has coached the super eagles of Nigeria in time past.

I don't think you have done your research yet on what the Ghana Football Federation has seen in him to appoint him as coach, but I have, and I think it is based on the level of experience he has as assistant coach to Alex Ferguson, and won the Premier League and Champions League. He has also been at the World Cup before with countries like Iran, South Africa, and even Portugal.

Sometimes such experience cannot be overlooked. Since he has been in the World Cup before, he understands the tension.

Carlos Queiroz has always been a good assistant manager; I don’t understand why he never quite made it as a head coach. He has excellent tactical knowledge, but perhaps the fact that he never played football is holding him back. Ghana have made a great signing, and I think this will be his last managerial role given his age, but he will certainly give it his all.

It is a good move. I think with this they can do well in the world cup. Is there any international or regional friendly games to test the coach? Or he is going to the World Cup straight? I think in this current Ghanaian National Team, the major problem was the Coach and now that they have gotten a new coach, they should look into the players and make some changes. Let's see how Ghana is going to perform in the WC.

To whom much is given, much is expected of them. It's just two months to the World Cup, and the Ghana football association feels it's right to appoint a new coach. I just hope the new Ghana coach delivers well in the job and the target handed to him because it won't be easy to put a team together in a short time.

However, I wish the Ghana team well, as they will represent Africa in the World Cup. Let it not be the group stage that they will kick out. Let them advance more than that

Wow! I am happy with this news and I believe Ghana Football governing body did what is best for the Ghana national team by appointing Carlos Queiroz as their new coach. I lost hope that Ghana won't perform well in the world cup because the coach that was mining the affairs of Ghana national team has nothing to offer, but now I think Ghana national team would do well in the world cup, because Carlos Queiroz is experienced enough to lead Ghana to success in the world cup.

All these past experiences are important though but may not change the actual story of the African football games.
Most of the African countries like hiring foreign coaches thinking that will solve their problem but that had never changed the old music.

On the coaching point, you are actually right and that is a real challenge. A new manager coming in close to major qualifiers or tournaments does not have the luxury of time. Building chemistry, understanding players, and implementing a system takes time snd for Ghana, it will  come down to how quickly the coach can adapt to the squad and make smart, simple decisions rather than overcomplicating things early on so to me I will say yes, expectations should be realistic but ambition wise, African teams are not thinking small any longer.

Carlos Queiroz has not won any major competitions with any country he has coached. He might have experience, but to me, he is an average coach. And with the limited time he has, I doubt if he would make much impact.

African and Asian teams always perform poorly in the World Cup. Morocco made history in the last World Cup. Africa has good players that I trust to make an impact in the competition.  Hopefully, one team would make it to the semis.

Let see how this coach will perform given the short time that he has to work with the team before the world. We should not expect anything spectacular and extra ordinary from Ghana in this world cup because the GFA has already made Ghana not to perform well in this world cup. Bringing a coach just months to the world cup means that the team will be disorganized.


I don't see Ghana making it out of the world cup group stage because this coach can't build a team that can compete favorably with the rest of the other teams given the time period that he has .
