It is disappointing, though, that a local coach would put all his efforts into qualifying the team for the World Cup, and at the last minute, he is sacked for a foreign coach. The authorities think building a formidable team is a day job, or they think it is that easy for both the new coach and team to adapt to each other so quickly and easily. It took time for the Super Eagles to adapt to Coach Chelles ' pattern of football, and it cost the team their World Cup ticket just because they changed coaches. Now, Ghana is making such a big mistake, and I was wondering if they took their time to do their analysis before taking such a decision.

I understand exactly what you are saying about the need to change of coach for the black stars of Ghana. Otto Addo tried his feat by qualifying the team for the world cup but I don't think he has anything to offer among the world giants as we already saw after the world cup qualifiers. All the friendly games they have played has been all lost with another friendly game against Mexico still on the second of may. Ghana has not been able to get even a draw against any of the four non African teams they have had a friendly game with which is a huge sign that there's need to upgrade the team.

Carlos Queiroz is a very experienced Portuguese coach and I strongly believe he will out perform Otto Addo in the world stage. Everything is not all about keeping incompetence just because he is a home made instead of going for the result. Some of the teams that Carlos Queiroz has headed includes, Real Madrid, Portugal, south Africa, Iran and has also worked as an assistant for the Manchester United team and known for his technical discipline. I believe Ghana is safer with him even though the team seems to lack some important talents that could eventually lead the team to good victory.

My problem with the Ghana, decision is that I understand that their new coach has not won any major trophy before, if this is the case I don't know how far he can take the Ghanian team in the world cup because. Wow! I am happy with this news and I believe Ghana Football governing body did what is best for the Ghana national team by appointing Carlos Queiroz as their new coach. I lost hope that Ghana won't perform well in the world cup because the coach that was mining the affairs of Ghana national team has nothing to offer, but now I think Ghana national team would do well in the world cup, because Carlos Queiroz is experienced enough to lead Ghana to success in the world cup.

Indeed is a good move for them, but it still doesn’t have any guarantee for them, because I don’t see how he will possibly prepare the team for the World Cup with the short time left for Preparation, I would have expected someone who knows what it means to manage a World Cup Squad, I know he has managed some teams in the World Cup, but why did they not go for something they’re familiar with which is an African manager, that would’ve suit the profile of the Squad properly, I don’t see how Ghana qualifys from the group stage of the World Cup with this Appointment.

Good news for the Senegalese football supporters who were jailed in Morocco after the final fallout of the African Nations cup in Morocco,  as three Senegalese Fans get released from detention after three months of detention in Moroccan prison.

My question after seeing this news is how many Moroccan fans were arrested who also caused problems through out the nations cup. CAF is a joke if they can't even free fans who were detain as a result of the fall out of the nations cup, which did not go according to the script written by CAF.

I saw the news and was very sad. So these Moroccans insisted that these fans would serve their three-month jail term completely. I thought this issue had been resolved through diplomatic means. My take was that they would be asked to pay a fine and fund the repairs of what was destroyed. It was troubling to see fans who went to support their country coming out of prison.

The most painful part is that CAF has stripped their country of the trophy. So it's like their labour and support were in vain.

A coach having enough time to know the players he's about to coach in a league or tournament is very important as it will help the coach figure out the best tactics that will suit the players in order for him to get the expectation results. But even with the short time Carlos Queiroz has to prepare Ghana national team for the World, Ghana national team can still perform well in the World Cup if Carlos  Queiroz knows what he's doing, maybe Ghana football governing body has looked for a bad coach who knows Ghana national team more than Carlos Queiroz they didn't see that's why they have to appoint Carlos  Queiroz as their new coach.

There’s little CAF can do about that case. They are just a governing body for African football, they can’t mingle in a country’s justice system. We already talked about this so many times already. I don’t see the point of rehashing the same argument about Morocco’s conduct in the AFCON.

I am so happy and relieved that they have been released after serving three months in prison. CAF and Morocco worked hand in hand in the 2025/2026 African Cup of Nations, so you shouldn't be surprised that CAF couldn't help facilitate the release of the three Senegalese football fans that were charged for misconduct in the final.

If you ask about my opinion concerning the GFA's decision to appoint Carlos Queiroz as new coach of the Ghanian national team, I would say it's a wrong decision, the reason is simply because Carlos Queiroz failed to qualify the Oman national team for the upcoming World Cup, how can you appoint such a person as coach to lead a team to the World Cup in such a short while, when will he prepare the team? How much time does he have to get acquainted with the squad and prepare a final list, these are the questions to ask.

Africa has been a dumping ground for everything. We don't care about quality, we accept anything that comes from the West. I am sure that several African coaches can perform better than Carlos Queiroz but Africa doesn't cherish or place value on what it has. A highly respected Ghanaian expert Mamadou Gaye advised the Ghana Football Association against hiring a foreign coach. He told them to go to Nigeria and other African countries and get a coach.

Most Africans don't have value for their own and that's why they're not valued outside, there are lots of fine coaches in African football, in South Africa there are good tacticians, in Egypt, Senegal, and even Nigeria, there are so many ex professionals in Ghana that could also lead the Ghanian national team to the World Cup, but because of the poor mentality of some blacks and perhaps inferiority complex they opted for a white coach, not because of results either but because they might be thinking a white coach could have much influence on the players than a black coach.

Those guys may not be aware that there country is no longer the winner of the AFCON because by the time they jailed them was when the withdrawing of the AFCON have not started but were only fining players, so actually apart from the pain they might have gone through in Morocco, how they would feel in hearing what has happened to there country will be more painful to them because they have gone to jail for something they have use politics to change the truth. There was no how only the Senegalese will cause the problem without any Moroccan also making trouble so perhaps they pardon all there Moroccans and put everything on those guys.

In African it is all about opportunity and favoritism. We have good coaches in African better than most European coaches we talk about on a daily basis, but you cant find those talent since they are not giving a chance to show for it. The Ghana national football team players play in various major leagues in Europe, so they are tactically flexible. But the problem is they spend less time together in the national team. It will take time to understand the new system and execute it in the match, so in my opinion it is risky to introduce a whole new style. If you make small changes based on the players familiar style, the problems will be less. Otherwise, if a completely new system is imposed, it will be best for Ghana. If the coach can do this, they will perform well even with a new coach. And if you try to make big changes too quickly, then there will be problems in the tournament.

I think we should give the new Ghanian coach a chance to prove himself with the team, hopefully his vast experience will make a difference in the team who's performances have not been impressive. Although time is short for him to blend fully with the Ghanian team but we never know he might bring his own strategy that will make us to see a new playing style that can see them pass the group stage. What we owe the Ghanian team is our support as a fellow African country, if Ghana goes far in the world cup it will be a boost for Africa as a continent. I don't believe in foreign or local coach for a team, what I want is result, any coach that can lead a team to victory is what I'm interested in.

Since the three Senegalese football fans didn't commit any serious offense during the 2025/2026 African Cup of Nations final between Senegal and Morocco, CAF should have fine them just the way most of the European football leagues fine football fans for misconduct but they choose not to interfere in the case because they were working for Morocco in the African Cup of Nations.

I am just happy that those Senegal fans have been released. What happened to the last AFCON from Quarter Final to the Final was a great lesson in the African football. Referees, players, fans and CAF as well but the major role lie on the referees. They caused everything that happened.

A lot of things that happen in the African cup of nation was something that was unbelievable, it was very clear that the officials of the African cup of nation only wanted Morocco to win the cup they did everything possible to make sure that they favor them, the match between Nigeria and Morocco the ref was really against Nigerian players, and it was very clear, Same thing happened again in the final between Morocco and Senegal the ref was also against Senegal players, those ref can’t be used in the World Cup, African continent is a disgrace to this world. I don’t see what civilisation has to do with this topic, you can degrade yourself but don’t drag the rest of the continent into it. This is what happens when you don’t read. CAF didn’t arrest any fan, the country (Morocco) arrested the Senegalese fans and charged them to court for instigating violence in the stadium.
