With this coach they have known that they weren't going for the world Cup with a coach the country did not trust, Alex Ferguson expertise in the premier League is still respected even when he is not coaching anymore so since this new Ghana coach was his assistant before, he would no how to be creative with the Ghanaian team. The country most have spend much to bring him in coaching them, if it was super eagles Africa is were they could have stopped in search of coach because high expenses will make them no to. Senegal is a country that could use this kind of coach to enhance all the match they would play because the needed players for any coach is on the team.

Ghana did not trust this coach, they just see him as good option over their formal coach who showed incompetence in Ghana friendly matches against Australia and Germany, Alex Ferguson is still respected as one of the best coaches even as he is not coaching again but that is not proof Carlos Queiroz will do well with Ghana national team in the world cup because his philosophy and Alex Ferguson philosophy are different. Bringing in foreign coach involve plenty of money, so i agree Ghana football federation spent much to bring in Carlos Queiroz from Portugal, if the super eagles of Nigeria want a foreign coach to coach them, Nigeria football federation will bring in one and expenses will not be a problem to that because plenty of foreign coaches has coached the super eagles of Nigeria in time past.

I don't think you have done your research yet on what the Ghana Football Federation has seen in him to appoint him as coach, but I have, and I think it is based on the level of experience he has as assistant coach to Alex Ferguson, and won the Premier League and Champions League. He has also been at the World Cup before with countries like Iran, South Africa, and even Portugal.

Sometimes such experience cannot be overlooked. Since he has been in the World Cup before, he understands the tension.

Carlos Queiroz has always been a good assistant manager; I don’t understand why he never quite made it as a head coach. He has excellent tactical knowledge, but perhaps the fact that he never played football is holding him back. Ghana have made a great signing, and I think this will be his last managerial role given his age, but he will certainly give it his all.

It is a good move. I think with this they can do well in the world cup. Is there any international or regional friendly games to test the coach? Or he is going to the World Cup straight? I think in this current Ghanaian National Team, the major problem was the Coach and now that they have gotten a new coach, they should look into the players and make some changes. Let's see how Ghana is going to perform in the WC.

To whom much is given, much is expected of them. It's just two months to the World Cup, and the Ghana football association feels it's right to appoint a new coach. I just hope the new Ghana coach delivers well in the job and the target handed to him because it won't be easy to put a team together in a short time.

However, I wish the Ghana team well, as they will represent Africa in the World Cup. Let it not be the group stage that they will kick out. Let them advance more than that

Wow! I am happy with this news and I believe Ghana Football governing body did what is best for the Ghana national team by appointing Carlos Queiroz as their new coach. I lost hope that Ghana won't perform well in the world cup because the coach that was mining the affairs of Ghana national team has nothing to offer, but now I think Ghana national team would do well in the world cup, because Carlos Queiroz is experienced enough to lead Ghana to success in the world cup.

All these past experiences are important though but may not change the actual story of the African football games.
Most of the African countries like hiring foreign coaches thinking that will solve their problem but that had never changed the old music.

On the coaching point, you are actually right and that is a real challenge. A new manager coming in close to major qualifiers or tournaments does not have the luxury of time. Building chemistry, understanding players, and implementing a system takes time snd for Ghana, it will  come down to how quickly the coach can adapt to the squad and make smart, simple decisions rather than overcomplicating things early on so to me I will say yes, expectations should be realistic but ambition wise, African teams are not thinking small any longer.

Carlos Queiroz has not won any major competitions with any country he has coached. He might have experience, but to me, he is an average coach. And with the limited time he has, I doubt if he would make much impact.

African and Asian teams always perform poorly in the World Cup. Morocco made history in the last World Cup. Africa has good players that I trust to make an impact in the competition.  Hopefully, one team would make it to the semis.

Let see how this coach will perform given the short time that he has to work with the team before the world. We should not expect anything spectacular and extra ordinary from Ghana in this world cup because the GFA has already made Ghana not to perform well in this world cup. Bringing a coach just months to the world cup means that the team will be disorganized.

Passing the group stage in the world cup was once African nations main ambitions, but after Morocco got to the semi final in last world, they have changed the narrative and the main ambitions of African nations in the world cup. African nations main ambitions in the world cup is to win the world cup. A good manager does not need a long time to do well, so even if Ghana new coach have no time to get in contact with the full squad and know them better, if he is a good manager he just need few training sessions with his players to do well.

For me I believe it is totally out of place for you to remove the coach that helped you qualify for the World Cup and placing him with somebody new entirely, if you have the intention of hiring a new coach, why didn't you bring him long before this time. For me it shows the high level of disregard to The Coach that have helped the team qualified for the World Cup. Funny enough this new coach will come with entirely new pattern that my probably not be the same with the previous coach, but it was the pattern of the previous coach that has brought them this far.

I was more happy and interested that Ghana have this coach but did not consider that they qualified through another coach that was leading them in solving the primary importance of there way to the world Cup, so the country would absolutely owe him the gratitude for his credibility but however I sense that this was the country plan all along but didn't just take the decision after they have qualified. From the beginning this changing of Ghana old coach started I have only seen positive in the new coach, so I hope he wouldn't coach bad as I see people talking about him.

If you ask about my opinion concerning the GFA's decision to appoint Carlos Queiroz as new coach of the Ghanian national team, I would say it's a wrong decision, the reason is simply because Carlos Queiroz failed to qualify the Oman national team for the upcoming World Cup, how can you appoint such a person as coach to lead a team to the World Cup in such a short while, when will he prepare the team? How much time does he have to get acquainted with the squad and prepare a final list, these are the questions to ask.

Africa has been a dumping ground for everything. We don't care about quality, we accept anything that comes from the West. I am sure that several African coaches can perform better than Carlos Queiroz but Africa doesn't cherish or place value on what it has. A highly respected Ghanaian expert Mamadou Gaye advised the Ghana Football Association against hiring a foreign coach. He told them to go to Nigeria and other African countries and get a coach.

This new Ghana coach is likely not to perform well in the coming FIFA world cup. Because it doesn't take only two months for a new coach to master his team it takes more than two months. Remember we are talking about Ghana national team, not a club team that a team can easily master within few months. If I were to be Ghana I will go with the formal coach that led the team through out the group stage till they qualified to play in the coming FIFA world cup, why are saying this? The other coach knows the Ghana national team more better than this new coach. So I strong believe in him to take Ghana a long way in the coming world cup even if they end up not win the FIFA world cup.

I don’t know the reason why the Ghana’s decide to sack their coach, maybe they going to have a personal reason for that, but I don’t think it makes any sense, their previous coach helped them in qualifying for the World Cup, they should have just allow the coach stay, he should be allowed to play the World Cup, and his performance should be observed before he will be sacked even if they want to sack him. It’s going to take some time before the new coach is going to adapt with the team which is going to affect them in the World Cup.

The authorities think building a formidable team is a day job, or they think it is that easy for both the new coach and team to adapt to each other so quickly and easily. What's the point of hiring him if the coach has not won any major competition? Ghana football federation is about to make another mistake because it's not a good thing to hire a manager just because of experience but with nothing to show for all his experiences in the game, they have a limited time before the world cup and they are bringing an average coach to lead them I guess they do not have plans to go beyond the group stage.

Morocco made history but this time I don't know if an African country will get to the knockout stage this time which is why I have been angry since Nigeria didn't qualify.

My question after seeing this news is how many Moroccan fans were arrested who also caused problems through out the nations cup. CAF is a joke if they can't even free fans who were detain as a result of the fall out of the nations cup, which did not go according to the script written by CAF.

I get the point you are making and why you sees it as a wrong decision, but in all honesty, it's actually the best decision for the black star of Ghana, because with the kind of talent at their disposal, they are struggling too much, and the world cup is just a few months away. Just look at how most of their last game went, is that the type of team that will make an impact in the world cup? No
So I agree with the decision taken, because the coach that was replaced no longer have anything to offer this Ghanaian national team, even though he is allowed to continue.
