one thing that pisses me off about the competition is the fact that they decided to give Morocco the trophy after Senegal won it.
The game ended and Morocco felt wronged, so they appealed to CAF. It wasn't CAF that simply decided to punish Senegal; it was Morocco that appealed to CAF using its arguments and showing the articles it believed Senegal had violated, and the CAF panel punished Senegal. Now, one shouldn't blame and accuse CAF; there's still another higher body that can decide on this dispute. Senegal has already appealed to that body and is now awaiting the final decision. I honestly prefer to remain rational. For example, in this article: https://theconversation.com/afcon-controversy-what-a-sports-law-specialist-says-about-senegal-being-stripped-of-the-title-279779This shows that there have been similar cases where even Morocco fared poorly for leaving the field. So I believe that CAF is being impartial in this case. I confess that on the first day when I read the news I thought CAF was acting wrongly. But then I realized that it is a complex case that could favor Morocco or Senegal, it will depend on how the law is interpreted.

Africans ain't civilized yet because they don't have value for human due to lack of love for each other. The law only affects the weak and the poor. Why didn't CAF fine these three fans instead of jailing them. I don't think, I'm happy with the outcome of the past AFCON and all the dramas attached to it.
I don’t see what civilisation has to do with this topic, you can degrade yourself but don’t drag the rest of the continent into it. This is what happens when you don’t read. CAF didn’t arrest any fan, the country (Morocco) arrested the Senegalese fans and charged them to court for instigating violence in the stadium. I don't blame him though he reacted out of emotions instead of reading to understand the full details of what played out and why there was an arrest, CAF might be corrupt but they don't have the legal authority to arrest any fan. Morocco as the host country is in charge of enforcing laws against fans that default, break their laws or "instigate violence in the stadium" as you said. What happened is not really about civilization or lack of love, if a Senegalese goes to another country and violate their law, don't they have the right to arrest such defaulter? So i wonder why Frankolala would say such which is why i insist that "he reacted out of emotions" concerning what played out in the finals between Senegal and Morocco and how CAF handled the situation but his statement is wrong.

I put all the blame on CAF which was why I said that in my post above.

You are very correct that CAF didn't arrest any fan in the African Cup of Nations, but since CAF was the organizer of 2025/2026 African Cup of Nations, they have the power to plead on behalf of the three Senegalese football fans that were sentenced to three months in prison for misconduct and Morocco government would have listen to their plead and set the three Senegalese football fans free. But since CAF turned a blind eye when they should have used the power bestowed on them to make sure the three Senegalese football fans goes back to Senegal with their fellow fans, I think CAF indirectly have a hand in the arrest of the three Senegalese football fans and Frankolala is right for dragging CAF.

The actual fact is that caf is corrupt, and all they have been doing since Patrick motsepe took over the role as caf president is by licking the ass of moroccans and it government. They have been doing this by pleasing the moroccans at every given opportunity, but the just concluded afcon exposed caf and the moroccans fa that they are working hand in hand to do everything possible for morocco to be crown African champions, which they failed. Now they are just trying to put all their frustrations on the fans of the Senegalese as if they are the cause of their problems.

I can't agree any less because sometimes, silence is consent. Not trying to show concern about such situations that arose in an event you organised, could be interpreted as you consenting to whatever it is that is happening, if CAF had intervened, even if they wouldn't have been allowed to go completely free for the misconduct, the punishment would have been far more minimal, maybe a fine or a sanction and not a prison sentence. Many have accused CAF of trying to support and work in favour of the Moroccan side and with situations like this surrounding all of it, you will want to agree with them because fingers are pointing so clear with events playing out to prove the whole of the situations. I hope some day that CAF will be credible and reliable again because at this point it will be safe to say they are beginning to loose credibility and people may not be able to trust them to host and conduct competitions of such magnitude.

CAF has actually been biased over certain things in the African football, they have not been transparent enough when they are dealing with some football issues involving some countries and their recent intervention concerning the outcome of the nations cup is the worst they have done so far because they won't keep supporting a particular country all in the name of making them their favourite. Right now Senegal is giving them headache because of their decisions and if they end up giving Morocco the cup then the African football will not be valuable again.

My question is was there any point of arresting those fans? Well just as you have said it much better for the CAF to pleased for their sentence..well honestly speaking three month was more than enough to keep someone in a cell for just little issues over a game of football well to me it was too much and they want to far at it..well CAF did a very bad behavior there by not even trying to do something it was more they didn’t care at all… and that way very bad thing to do honestly speaking.. I feel the CAF should keep paying attention to little details to such news now what would people think about them because of such misconduct that was made by them…it high this should be corrected and to make sure thing like this should not even happen again next time…

I watched the final between Morocco and Senegal and during the scuffle that led to the arrest of Senegalese fans, Moroccan fans also played huge part but because the Moroccan authorities are biased, they're charging the foreigners without including their citizens who took part in the fight, that's unjust to the Senegalese people.

This biasedness CAF is showing will cause harm in the African football for a long time coming, if there was some level of misconduct by the Senegalese fans during that final encounter between Morocco and Senegal, then the Moroccan fans should be checked as well because they committed a higher grade of misconduct because they felt they were the Host nature and they used that to their advantage, yet I didn't hear any Moroccan fans go into any prison for that.

Senegal must also recognize the corruption of the Confederation of African Football. Hence their reluctance and reason to damn the consequences of not acting in line to support the recent development concerning the just-concluded African Cup of Nations. If African football is to be taken seriously, then our governing body needs to be occupied with individuals who have integrity and people who want to see the sport in our continent gain global attention from how well managed we are. The current set of leaders in the Confederation of African Football has embarrassed us, and they actually deserve to step down from the position.

True that the World Cup is the best of the best, showcasing their talents, skills, and all they've got. It would be a very competitive show with the defending champions playing to maintain their position. Maybe another champion could emerge, but till then, the final whistle would determine who wins the trophy.
Ghana made their choice in going for a foreign coach, which is not bad, but my point is this: will the players quickly adapt to the new coach's style and pattern of football? Will the coach be able to come down to the players' style so they can play well during the tournament? because now all they can do is to play what they already know best, as adapting to a new pattern will likely affect their football pattern, except they play friendlies back to back with the co World Cup qualifiers to test their strength and capacity. Maybe this could help them get acquainted with their new pattern quickly before the World Cup tournament begins.
The Ghana national football team players play in various major leagues in Europe, so they are tactically flexible. But the problem is they spend less time together in the national team. It will take time to understand the new system and execute it in the match, so in my opinion it is risky to introduce a whole new style. If you make small changes based on the players familiar style, the problems will be less. Otherwise, if a completely new system is imposed, it will be best for Ghana. If the coach can do this, they will perform well even with a new coach. And if you try to make big changes too quickly, then there will be problems in the tournament. Irrespective of the fact that they play in big teams and are tactically flexible, there is always a shake-up whenever there is a rumor or news of players getting a new coach for the team. Whether they are professionals with a league title or not, the coach would definitely bring in his styles which would also cause a bit shakeup and the players would need time to adapt.

So i wonder why Frankolala would say such which is why i insist that "he reacted out of emotions" concerning what played out in the finals between Senegal and Morocco and how CAF handled the situation but his statement is wrong.
Some arguments and accusations are drone based on not knowing the right of CAF in all the African cup of nation, if someone does not understand it they would think that every single thing we saw was directly done by the CAF through there right but however the truth about the arrest of those fans was an act of the Morocco and wasn't the CAF that sentence them but however there could be role from the CAF against them but wasn't done the way everybody would no that they masterminded everything because they acted unconcerned about it instead of suggesting an alternative that would make the punishment more lesser for them. So actually Frankolala might not really be voicing out of emotions but perhaps he thought that only CAF has full authority to make any arrest.

Nothing concerns CAF with the arrest, they have no legal right to do so or detect for Morocco how to run their country or enforce laws on defaulters, they're just the organisers of the tournament while Morocco as the host has full legal backings to arrest those who try to default when the tournament is on, remember that it's held in their soil and visitors needed to obey their laws. CAF can only try to intercede on behalf of the arrested fans but it's unfortunate that they didn't which is best known to them. Even if the competition was held elsewhere and fans default or act violently during the tournament, the authorities of the host country has every right to arrest the defaulters whether foreigner or not, I hope you get that clear?

This shows that there have been similar cases where even Morocco fared poorly for leaving the field. So I believe that CAF is being impartial in this case. I confess that on the first day when I read the news I thought CAF was acting wrongly. But then I realized that it is a complex case that could favor Morocco or Senegal, it will depend on how the law is interpreted.
CAF is to be blamed in my opinion. They were biased in the ruling to favor one side against the other. I don't know their rules more than them but we are talking about the whole continent tournament here which should not be ridiculed. As far as I know, it takes a severe offence like corruption cases involving great financial abuse, match fixing or bribery to warrant the authority to stripped off the already awarded tittle. Quite alright, Senegalese players walked out of the pitch to protest on bad officiating which was actually against the rules of the game. But what happened later? Not all the players walked off the pitch and moreover, they came back to continue the play after about fifteen minutes. They didn't abandon the game absolutely. Fines and other penalties are enough to punish this act of unsportsmanship by Senegalese players. Going as far as stripping them of the AFCON title is extreme in my opinion.

All these drama we saw with CAF handling cup over to Morocco using the court ruling shows the system or the CAF was compromised, or either someone took bribery. Because this injustice will continue to hunt them back in the future as this has become a history no matter how they manage to make it seem they did the thing or took the right decision by stripping off the cup already awarded to the Senegalese national team, it wouldn't change the that CAF can be biased or get compromised because of their interests etc .

As a law abiding citizen in my country and someone who knows the law, I didn't see this case as complicated one but it is a clear case that CAF was compromised. Yes the law is written, who is to implement the law of CAF is the referee and other officiating officers on the field and whatever they say is the final judgement. The referee would have ended the Match on the time when Senegal left the field. But he decided to continue the match and awarded the penalty to Morocco and they missed it. And Senegal won the match with 1-0 on the field. And later CAF said it was nul and void. Who does that? Then again there were one or two players of Senegal were on the field when others went out, CAF didn't notice that part. Jean-Jacques Ndala Ngambo who officiated the referee role on the final has been removed from FIFA World Cup because of his misconduct on the Match. Only that tells me that Jean-Jacques Ndala Ngambo was biased in the match.

Good news for the Senegalese football supporters who were jailed in Morocco after the final fallout of the African Nations cup in Morocco, as three Senegalese Fans get released from detention after three months of detention in Moroccan prison. https://www.vanguardngr.com/2026/04/afcon-morocco-releases-senegal-fans-after-sentences-served/amp/My question after seeing this news is how many Moroccan fans were arrested who also caused problems through out the nations cup. CAF is a joke if they can't even free fans who were detain as a result of the fall out of the nations cup, which did not go according to the script written by CAF. Those guys may not be aware that there country is no longer the winner of the AFCON because by the time they jailed them was when the withdrawing of the AFCON have not started but were only fining players, so actually apart from the pain they might have gone through in Morocco, how they would feel in hearing what has happened to there country will be more painful to them because they have gone to jail for something they have use politics to change the truth. There was no how only the Senegalese will cause the problem without any Moroccan also making trouble so perhaps they pardon all there Moroccans and put everything on those guys. Even with the late ruling of CAF to strip off Senegal their trophy, Senegal has stood their ground not to hand Morocco the Afcon trophy and they are still the current Africa champions, so those Senegal supporters that were released from jail will not go through any pain because their country is still the winners of the Afcon trophy and it is still in their custody. Senegal fans and Morocco fans lost their cool in the final and behaved unprofessional, Senegal fans and Morocco fans should have face the music together, but since the Afcon tournament was host by Morocco and Morocco authorities was in charge of delivery judgement of the problems Senegal fans and Morocco fans caused in the Afcon final, Morocco authorities supposedly allowed Morocco fans to go free and supposedly jailed some Senegal fans.

This event has already gone down in the history lane of African football as corrupt and messed up. Maybe CAF would have just ignored this investigation to salvage African football rather than all this rubbish going on. The name and face of African football have been tainted by this misleading and misguided judgment, and this will forever remain in the history books of African football.

I really don't know why and how this whole thing is still a debate because it's obvious that the CAF federation wasn't confident enough and even the referee that allowed play to go on without checking the so called law that have made CAF now to draw out the conclusions that Senegal forfeited the game, this whole issue is very annoying because how would you the CAF president stand in the present of the entire world and crown a team the champions and now calling them out to return the trophy, just absolutely crazy.
