Africa will be coming to Nigeria, as Nigeria is set to host two major CAF events this year. The events are the CAF Ordinary General Assembly, which is expected to take place in October, and the CAF Awards ceremony, which will be held in December of this year. sourceIt will not be the first time we have hosted this event, but I hope the event is much more put together than the one hosted in 2015.

Twenty Nine days until the FIFA World Cup Competition kicks off I don't know who you'll fan though since we do not have our Super Eagles playing, but I'll be rooting for Congo. I'm already tipping them to come second place behind Portuguese national team in their group. I know we're all Africans and all our support goes to our African countries representing but I'm be making mine a lot personal with the Democratic Republic of Congo! What are your thoughts guys?! Senegalese national team another great side to back!

You are right if he was a white guy they would have valued him more than the way they value him now he’s a very good player and any club he goes to he usually perform very well and make them more better. Such a player should be valued for such amount of money, he deserve it. I really don’t see why some club are finding it very difficult to purchase him with huge amount of money he’s a player that will enter your club and make an impact. He is not a player that will come to your club and do nothing. He will surely make an impact in your club and he has a lot of fans all over the world, especially in Africa and once a club sign such a player they will have a lot of visibility and money from fans all over the world so he deserve to be paid huge.
I believe Victor Osimhen is earning big amount of money at Galatasaray so I don't care if clubs are willing to buy him with big amount of money. When this season ends and the summer transfer window opens for clubs to do business, if any club offers Galatasaray what could make them sell Victor Osimhen, good for him and Galatasaray, but if there's no big money offer for him in the summer transfer window he should just stay at Galatasaray.

I don't know if any club in Europe will get Victor Osimhen for €150 million.
With the way white players who are below Victor Osimhen level are valued £80 million - £100 million, had the been Victor Osimhen was a white guy or plays for any European national team, clubs in Europe would have agree to buy him for €150 but since he's a black guy and he's playing for Nigeria national team, no club in Europe will get him for $150 million. I want him to play in the Premier League where he will be more marketable and valued but they didn't see him as a player they need most. If he was they would accepted him since last season. We know one thing, we love to stay were other value us but when the opposite happened, the interest to be there is not there again. Victor Osimhen said he likes where he is. I really want Victor Osimhen to come to Premier League and not even LaLiga.

I wonder why CAF even approved of such in the first place. Maybe it should be a criteria to be met before applying for such a prestigious ceremony. A nation with no good sports facility, always having record of owing players allowances and match bonus, borrowing to fix economy and I ask what will it benefit us as a nation hosting such an event when we did not even qualified for the world cup tournament. Even the CAF we played with morroco we were robbed of the match and CAF could not say anything now our government is quick to host CAF awards ceremony. Of what economic importance would the ceremony bring to our nation rather than we paying for the event logistics and mobilisation, hotel accommodation for guests and CAF officials. This would just be a big expenses for our nation when we are struggling to implement minimum wage and our government borrowing here and there

This is good, for Nigeria to be the host of CAF award ceremony for the second time(2017 and 2026). At least they have put a stop to Morocco four times in row(2022-2025) they hosted the CAF ceremony. Let me assume in years to come, Nigeria, DR Congo and Morocco will not be the only country that will be a host to CAF General Assembly and CAF Awards ceremony

Can it be possible for Arsenal to win a lot of trophies because Osimhen joined Arsenal? I am thinking of the possibility of this happening as we know a single player can't win the whole matches of a team, without it being a collective effort of the players and how the coach structures the team.
It is very much possible because this Arsenal squad are very good, the defense and midfield is arguably one of the best in the league and this team have come second three times in a row in the EPL. The only thing lacking is the attacking depth and Osimhen could be the solution to that problem. Why does it seem like the premier league has infiltrated this thread lol

It's not just about hoping we get to host the afcon, the big question is, how prepared are we to host the afcon considering the current state of most of our stadiums? Hosting the afcon requires a lot of preparation and sadly, we can't claim we're that ready for a thing as that. Coming back to hosting the afcon award this time, it would have been a really good one if one of our boys are capable of winning the award. But clearly, we might just be hosting it and someone else will win the African best and though we can't claim it's something we're entitled to, it wouldn't make much headlines seeing that we didn't even qualify for the world cup and at the same time has nothing serious that's going on with us in the world state as far as football is concerned.

Having our country host the AFCON would be more preferable as it would be a great benefit to us. I saw online where the CAF President was quoted as saying that the last AFCON held in Morocco generated $2b revenue for the country, and I was amazed by that. We need a source of revenue, not a source of depletion, looking at the current state of the nation. Maybe our leaders should try to do the bidding after this event and see if we would be considered, since we hosted the awards event and spent some funds. Maybe the AFCON would enable the country to gain back what we've spent hosting the awards event. AFCON held in Morocco generated $2b revenue for the country
