It is sadden the FIFA world cup competition is just remaining twenty nine days to start and super eagles of Nigeria is not amongst the 48 countries that will be completing for the FIFA world cup. Since the super eagles of Nigeria will not play in the world cup i will fan Senegal and Portugal in the world cup. My number one country i want to win the world is Senegal because they are African country and i must put my race first but if they cannot win the world cup that is when i will root for Portugal national team to win the world cup. Even if i have chosen to support Senegal as the only African country in the world cup, i am wishing all the African countries competing for the world cup good luck and success.

And it's drawing closer and closer and everyone is waiting for things to just get better and with the way things are going a lot of players are getting ready because they will be a lot of players that might be considered during the world cup and the fact that the super eagles are not making it to the world cup is just very disappointing because now we are going to be supporting other counties from afar and I was not happy when I found out that we are not going to make it to the world cup. And everyone is looking for a club they are going to be supporting during the world cup.

I don't even know who am going to be supporting at this point and just because Senegal are playing well does not mean that they are going to win, because it's a competitive and it's called a world cup for a reason so concluding when it is even about to start is just very hilarious because when they don't even get to the quarter-finals then it will be very disappointing so just wait to see that things can change even when it is not expected.

I don't know who you'll fan though since we do not have our Super Eagles playing, but I'll be rooting for Congo. I'm already tipping them to come second place behind Portuguese national team in their group. Since this is about your own opinion, thays not a problem if you want Dr Congo to come out as second place.
Supporting African countries in this tournament do not mean they are going to come out as winner and I love your energy which shows that you don't really care what happens at last, your support goes to who you admire the most. Keep up the energy flowing like black diamond magma!

Africa will be coming to Nigeria, as Nigeria is set to host two major CAF events this year.

The events are the CAF Ordinary General Assembly, which is expected to take place in October, and the CAF Awards ceremony, which will be held in December of this year.

It will not be the first time we have hosted this event, but I hope the event is much more put together than the one hosted in 2015.

I saw this news a few minutes ago as I was scrolling through Facebook but it skipped my mind to post the good news here. I was so happy when I saw the news, because Morocco has been the country that have been hosting the CAF Awards ceremony in the past four years,a but seeing that Nigeria has been selected to host this year's CAF Awards ceremony they have stopped Morocco from hosting the ceremony for the fifth time.

Change is constant, it’s normal for the award venue to be changed it doesn’t really mean anything, I believe there was other countries like Ghana who was hosting the award and also Egypt have previously hosted the award and it’s nothing difference wherever the award is hosted doesn’t really mean anything the most important thing should be who is winning the award.
And Morocco have also helped African football by hosting the award for five consecutive year, now I want to see how many years Nigeria is going to host the award, I’m completely sure they can’t host it more than one year, Nigeria is an inconsistent country, and when was the last time Nigeria hosted an African Cup of Nations, they should be hosting that and not this award.

We need action events and not ceremonial events. Let them host AFCON both men and women in the continent and that will make the economy of the country boom in that period. But this particular event will be in one place. Probably Abuja or Lagos but if it is sports competition, it will be across the country for the major cities that have good Stadium. And that will touch every geo zone in the country. Though we welcome them in this events.

I wonder why CAF even approved of such in the first place. Maybe it should be a criteria to be met before applying for such a prestigious ceremony. A nation with no good sports facility, always having record of owing players allowances and match bonus, borrowing to fix economy and I ask what will it benefit us as a nation hosting such an event when we did not even qualified for the world cup tournament. Even the CAF we played with morroco we were robbed of the match and CAF could not say anything now our government is quick to host CAF awards ceremony. Of what economic importance would the ceremony bring to our nation rather than we paying for the event logistics and mobilisation, hotel accommodation for guests and CAF officials. This would just be a big expenses for our nation when we are struggling to implement minimum wage and our government borrowing here and there

Yes there's a criteria to host the 2026 CAF Awards ceremony, and I believe Nigeria met the criteria before they were allowed to host such award in the first place. Morocco has been mining the affairs of African football for a very long time and that was one of the reasons why CAF wanted Morocco to win the past African Cup of Nations and since they didn't succeed they decided to stripe Senegal the African Cup of Nations and give it to Morocco in order to compensate Morocco for their great support towards African football. So even though Nigeria won't gain anything in hosting the upcoming 2026 CAF Awards ceremony they should just host it in order for another country to mine the affairs of African footbal for a while.

I don't have any country in the Africa in mind to be called the champion of the world cup but however the ones I have in mind is only for the performance that will not be disqualified easily, so actually at least two countries in Africa would be very impressive and attract competing favour but there would be a limit they might not exceed, this limitation has always been hunting them on the world cup because whenever we have one country who are still on the world cup while others are gone it doesn't take much round for the country to return back to Africa. If you are current in Africa football, Ghana would have not been the most supported one as the best because there are more best African countries than them.

It's quite difficult to know the African country that will play the final in the World Cup, so I will remain silent on this matter until I see how African countries will perform in the World cup before I can able to figure out the African country that has a good chance to play the final in the World Cup. I want the African countries that see themselves as true African countries to win the World Cup but if they can't win the World Cup, Portugal should win it .

Let not be that I'm underrating any African football team but with all honesty and sincerity, there no African in my mind right now to play the world cup finals, we are talking about a competition housing the best among the best in the whole world, I do not think I have being sentiment here or say thing to favour a continent just because I'm from there no I  will not not do that, football is not something that is just done that way, I do not know if any African club will even go far in the world cup but if any of them do, I will support them, for now I'm not supporting anybody until the time is riped for that.

I often get emotional seeing my country lose against other countries so it's somewhat better for people like me despite the fact that it's also going to be boring watching the World Cup without the Super Eagle of Nigeria.
However, I would channel all that energy towards other foreign countries where there are interesting players like Lamine yamal, Pedri, Lionel Messi, Mbappe,Cristiano Ronaldo  etc, it's quite easier this way, at least there won't be much sentiments since my country isn't represented.

I believe you are not the only person that get emotional seeing Nigeria lose against other countries in a friendly game or Afcon game and even if it is somewhat better for you that Nigeria will not be playing in the world cup it is a big disappointment we will not be watching our country play in the world cup as we are going to watch other African countries and non-African countries play in the world cup come June of this year. I would have ask you why you are not supporting any African country in the world cup but i will not because the reason is best known to you.

I have seen a number of gamblers that are not much interested in the world cup has before since their home country has been knocked out of the game already, it's no one's fault to blame when you discover that your country was not qualified, however, it does not still end there because we all have to support others that got qualified and cheer them all, so they can have more moral to play and make us proud all.

This may sound harsh but I don’t see what’s worth celebrating here. We should be hosting football tournament not just award shows. Instead of spending money on hosting this event, the Nigerian government should rather focus on building standard football stadiums.

There's this particular record about the Fifa World Cup Competition, it has only been lifted and won by managers who are from that country.
I mean, last World Cup was won by Argentina and they was managed by an Argentine. Portuguese national team are without a Portuguese manager, I doubt they will also win it with Roberto Martínez. He is not a capacity manager at the same time he's a Spadinard.

So what you are saying now is that for one to win AFCON, they must host awards and other things related to old African football, which I think is not good. Maybe African nations should begin to turn to African football things if Morocco decides to act funny.

When CAF wanted to stripe Senegal off their African Cup of Nations trophy and give it to Morocco, a lot of Africans and non African condemned CAF's decision and they stood with Senegal never to release the trophy to Morocco because they are the legitimate winners of the 2025/2026 African Cup of Nations, so CAF made a statement during that period that when it comes to hosting of African football tournaments no African country make move to host tournaments that it's only Morocco that always host African football tournaments. That statement only shows that CAF wants Morocco to win the 2025/2026 African Cup of Nations just for them to repay Morocco for always hosting African football tournaments. Yes, other African countries should learn to host African football tournaments so that CAF and Morocco won't be playing foul play with in the African Cup of Nations.

They made an untruthful statement about that because they made it sounds like Morocco has been the one hosting all the African cup of nation from beginning till this problem, whereas they haven't hosted more than every country, they only hosted it twice and Nigeria have also hosted the same but they haven't say or acknowledged it, so must the two times hosting of Morocco be the highest than countries with the same two?.Tunisia is the first country in Africa when talking about hosting Africa cup of nation but they gave all the credit to Morocco, if there point are the country with higher hosting trophy why shouldn't they be fair about it.
