The Moroccan national football team is indeed the African champion we all know, despite the fact that they were robbed of their supposed African Cup of Nations trophy. Now the evidence has become very clear as to who the real champion is. Among other African countries, Morocco's style and level of football are quite different and aren't comparable to how other Africans play their games. They've eliminated one of the host nations, Canada, and it was a clear thrashing.

Morocco is a very strong team. I considered Morocco as  the favorite in the match against the host Canada. And they  performed brilliantly.

Canada attacked more in the match. They made a total of 10 shots. On the other hand, Morocco attacked relatively less, but each of their attacks was well-planned. The most interesting thing is that in this match, moroccan players managed to make  only 5 shots. 4 of them were on  target. And Morocco managed to score  3 goals. Canada's defense and  goalkeeper's performance were very weak.

I was expecting Senegal to defend their goal and not feel relaxed over the win they already put over their opponent but it was unfortunate that they were thinking they had won the match when the ref has not blown the final whistle. I have noticed this thing about African teams. They tend to feel relaxed whenever they are winning a match forgetting that till ref blows the final whistle, anything can happen as long as the match is still very much active and running.

This is the second time Belgium is doing a comeback. Before the previous game against Senegal, Belgium was 2 goals down against Japan. Belgium actually came back to win 3:2. History actually repeated itself against Senegal. Belgium won again 3:2 after being 2 goals down. However, Belgium will face the United States on Tuesday next week. They have to be careful because what may have worked for them against Japan and Senegal may give a different outcome when they face the United States.

I have come to realise that teams do not take cognizance of previous matches to study the pattern of their opponents before going into the pitch with them. This has repeated itself in this year's tournament with various teams losing out to the same come back pattern with the same come back strategy. How I wish most African teams were very observant of their opponents and also studied the previous games of their opponents, they would not have lost to them, maybe they could have used another formation and tactics to play them and this I believe is what the white teams does hence you see them winning most of the African teams at last minute of their games.

The Canada goal keeper has nothing to do with the number of goals they conceded even though towards the end of the second half, he became too restless that he had to leave is goal keeping duty and went on to make attempt on scoring goals. the Canada teams felt like they were the better side and played like winning was there's. when it became obvious that things was not working the way they thought it would, they became more aggressive and opened their team up which gave morocco more chance of scoring more goals.

The implication of this result is that all the teams that Morocco will be coming against will be conscious that if they open the game too much that morocco can easily take advantage of that. the coming opposition is not an easy one but the only way to show the world that they are champion worthy is to approach that game like any of the other games they have played and won in.

Morocco is the only nation in Africa that plays like the top teams in other continent. Reason is because they don't have any inferiority complexity like the rest of African nations. They performed well in 2022 world cup where they beat teams like Spain and Portugal. Now they are on the same path. I know that they don't have any chance of winning the world cup yet ,but soon Morocco might be the first African Nation to ever lift that trophy. Maybe in 2030 if they continue to build their squad like this. I think where their journey will probably end is in the Quarter finals against France. It's going to be a tight game but France will secure a victory there.

Morocco will face a difficult task in stopping France, but I think it’s important to point out that France struggled immensely against Paraguay yesterday, and Morocco can use that as an example to try to put together a team capable of neutralizing France

Egypt will also face an equally difficult challenge, but they have fewer resources to advance to the next round
Perhaps they can also look to Cape Verde for inspiration in their match against Argentina
Who knows, maybe if Salah is on fire, Messi won't play well...

I was not disappointed because I already knew that these two teams are the only teams that have what it takes to progress to the next stage in this World Cup, the only team that I was disappointed at not to qualify for the next stage is Senegal, They had everything in their favor, but they decided to be foolish, how on earth will you be winning with two goals and the time is almost up in the match and you are so careless that you allowed your opponent to score you two goals and then made it a draw and then went to the extra time to win the match, I’m so disappointed at Senegal.
Morocco is doing very well and they have what it takes to lift the World Cup.

The African teams that went for the FIFA world cup tournament have been giving their best and this is arguably the most successful world cup already for the African teams because the continent recorded 9 qualifications from the group stage out of the ten teams that qualified. This is unlike many other world cup matches when African countries get knocked out during the group stages. However, this remaining two teams now need every support they can get from other Africans to be able to proceed in this tournament. This year is different in the sense that there's no small team and any team is likely to beat anyone.

However the game between Argentina and Egypt is going to be a serious game and the chances of ending in favour of Egypt is very unlikely. I hope they go more defensive while allowing Salah at the front. About Morocco and France, Morocco is a rigid team and formidable. If France don't win the game in first half, then they may not stand a chance in the second half. Can any of these two teams get to the semi final?

I guess Morocco has proven them wrong yesterday, because they did not just won the game but they beat their opponent 0:3 without allowed them to secure a single goal from the game. I know majority of Africa clubs have been dropped out from the FIFA world cup tournament and the few ones that remain, only Morocco that is the hope of Africa, because they have displayed some strength that will still make them to win their next game to represent Africa well in this tournament.

Are you trying to say that Africa footballers don't like themselves to be happy for each other victory? I don't think so and you will see what will happen in this FIFA world cup tournament if Morocco or Ghana qualify for final, I trust all the Africa international footballers will be there to support Africa club that get to that stage, because is the joy of Africa that one of the club represent them in the final stage.

Definitely, I believe winning the World Cup with an African team Is worth bragging for, we have faced prejudice alot because of the level of qualifications of African team and if we get to win, that would atleast shut the mouth of those European people and pundits with superiority complex, I can't forget what that Italian manager said about African teams

Morocco is one of the best teams in Africa because they have with time proven to us that they are capable of competing at the highest level. In the game against Canada, they were able to convert most of their chances and they did that well also they were able to defend well to stop all the attempts of Canada, which is impressive and for Canada, they didn't perform well in this game because they had many attempts but couldn't convert any one. And for the fact that they were able to concede more goals due to the numbers of shots on target, shows that the defense is weak or probably they need a good goalkeeper for their defense, such mistakes should not be happening especially in a tournament like this because they will be punished for it severely. For Morocco, if they are able to continue like this, it's sure that they will go far in this competition and will be a difficult opponent for any team they encounter in this knockout stage

I must have missed that story. What Italian manager and what did he say? Following Cabo Verde’s incredible run in the World Cup, I have seen some media outlets reporting that Jamie Carragher has apologised for his comments about the AFCON not being a real tournament but I still can’t find a real source confirming it. Good question. Morocco is trying to make history for their country, not for Africa. I am pretty sure Morocco dont care about other African nations in the World Cup because they are representing themselves well. If they eventually win the World Cup, TBH I can't brag about it. However, what makes people say those things is because no African nation has ever won the World Cup before in history. At the same time, it wont be a crime to support another African nation to win it but it is a crime to brag about it when having discussions.

Just want to add some points to the argument here.
Argentina isn’t an invicible team, they barely survived Cabo Verde few nights ago. Just because Messi is in the team doesn’t make them the best in the World Cup.

Canada on the other hand are not a strong team, they do not have football heritage and experience on the big stage to be World Cup champions. Credit to them for breaking a record by making it to the round of 32, next World Cup they might do better.

It’s not unreasonable to say Morocco can win the World Cup if they beat France, they reached the semi-finals before so they aren’t exactly new to the big leagues.

It's the same France that eliminated Morocco is the last world cup in the semifinals so, Morocco should be aware of that and play their best to see if it can scale them through but I'm not putting my hope in them winning France. However, I will be happy if they can do it but their chance is very slim.

In football, what matters is victory. It doesn't matter if the team suffered a lot to achieve that victory. Who wins is what matters most. If the African continent truly had a very strong competition between nations, then we Africans would be able to win the World Cup at least once. I know that some people prefer to write out of passion when it comes to this subject and because of that they even hate those who criticize us Africans. But as an African, I prefer to acknowledge our weakness and accept criticism. I will be happy if Morocco or Egypt becomes World Cup champion. But I know that this is an almost impossible mission.
