However we have noticed that another African team has also qualified for the Round of Sixteen match and their opponent is Argentina. Morocco easily defeated Canada but we feel that another African team, Egypt, may not be able to easily defeat last year's world champion Argentina in the round of 16 match. You are right in saying that nine African teams qualified for the Round of 32, but from there only Egypt and Morocco made it to the Round of 16 of the World Cup.

This World Cup is full of surprises... After all, teams like Brazil, Germany, and Portugal were also considered favorites. However, they lost to their opponents and were eliminated from the tournament. 🙋

In my opinion, Egypt head coach Hossam Hassan plans to organize a solid defense in goal. He knows Messi's potential and will take appropriate measures. Many are expecting an aggressive, dynamic game from this match, but we could very well see a slower, more tactical approach. Comparing the two teams is actually not the best thing because even with the way Egypt play at the group stage it sounds somehow that they will not do anything compared to how Morocco played, remain an hour for Egypt to face Argentina which a lot of people are not having hope for Egypt because of how dangerous Argentina is playing.

But on my own side I am still supporting Egypt and I believe in them that they will deliver and eliminate argentina, honestly it will be a great honor for Argentina to be eliminated by an African nation which they are playing with since from the beginning and they are receiving applause which does not worth it. You are right, Morocco is the only country i have hope on in this world cup tournament but it is so unfortunate that they will be playing against the beast in the world cup at this stage. the previous world cup after all their performance and victory, it was same France that removed them and so i do not hope or anticipate on their qualification from this stage anymore but if peradventure they did..., i will be happy for them but as for Egypt i do not see any possibility of them coming out from this stage because the defending champions would not allow them.

All we can do is to be hopeful because in the game of football, sometimes things do not play out as we expect, because a single red card can change the whole cause of the game to the favour of the opposite team, so even though Argentina seems like the clear favourite in the game, we can't just give up on the Egyptian because they have what it takes to punish the Argentine team if they put in a below pair performance like in their encounter against cape Verde Island.

Truly, morocco is the only African nation that has given us a performance in this competition that gave us hope, so it's not wrong to say that they are our best bet to go far more than the Egyptian, but as I have said already, in football we can never say never on anything, because anything is possible.

Strategy depends a lot on what the opponent is coming with because a big country could use a strategy on a lower middle country but get it very tough and narrowly win but they could explore the same way to another country whether small or strong and they win so easy, so actually Argentina is going to use the same way from Cape Verde on Egypt, people might be saying that why not Argentina changed to another thing but however they already no that Egypt are not troublesome in there defense as many country is, so there would be no much interference against the strategy because Argentina will be more free than how they are on the last round.

We are in that stage of the world where we can't not say what happens next, what I know is that Morocco has everything to take on any team in the world cup presently, I have watch the way they play their football and there's no difference between them and the Europeans, I don't know who will be out between Egypt and Argentina because this is not time to talk down on any team, many viewers believe that Egypt will go home for Argentina to move further but until it is practically proven in the field then I can be satisfied, so for now both team has to show bag they are made of.

I don't think so have release this statement, so far Morocco is representing of African team and they are qualifying trough World Cup 2026 from CAF confederation. Performance of Morocco looks stable every World Cup edition from World Cup 2022 success qualified to semifinal round and secure the top fourth standings and this edition already qualifying to quarter final round.

You people should stop saying Morocco is the only African country we have hope on in this world cup even if they have qualified to the quarter finals because Morocco sports minister, Mohammed Saad, said Morocco is at the World to represent Morocco, not African. And he went further to say Morocco does not need Africa's support in the world cup. I cannot support people who made it obvious they do not need my support, so i will not be supporting Morocco when France host them in the quarter finals round. Egypt is better than Cabo Verde, and for Cabo Verde to almost knocking out Argentina there is a chance for Egypt against Argentina.

At this point, it is right to assume that African teams are under same spell and it will be very difficult to break out of it, no wonder Morocco sometimes insist they're not part of the continent because wtf. All the African teams in the knockout stage almost always scoring first and failing to keep the pressure for the 90 minutes. Senegal first came from 2 goals lead to loose to Belgium just from the 85th minutes and today again, Egypt has taken the same direction, 2 goals lead and going on to concede 3 goals in 13 minutes.

Egypt has failed the continent woefully because the sky was lit after the offside goal even after cancelling it, they still scored again. Messi keeps the streak, the only player to score in 9 consecutive world cup games. Congratulations to Argentina 🎉

Todays match is unbelievable, sometimes football would make you feel it's mystical and controlled by magic, Argentina were two goals down with just 11 minutes remaining to be eliminated, the frustration on their players faces could make you feel they've given but suddenly Messi and his teammates did magic, what a game.
 Egypt tried their best but unfortunately the spirit of late minutes loser that followed some African countries to the tournament didn't spare them, Morocco is currently the last hope for an African country to win this World Cup.

Ronaldo has come to an end. I love his style, he fought to the end but Fate had bad news for him. Today's match might be Ronaldo's last March for Portugal, he's 41 already and should be thinking of his retirement by now. He's achieved a lot for the Portugal team and contributed a lot to soccer in general of which he would be remembered. The world cup wasn't his destiny at all.

Portugal Faced Spain in RO16. Portugal kept 45% possession overall, 0.63xG , 1 big chance created and 10 shots on the other hand Spain with 55% possession created 3 big chances, 15 shots 1.69xG. In the added minutes of second half super sub Merino scored a goal and gave Spain a lead in the 90+1 minutes and that's how it became the last ever game for Portugal for Ronaldo and his supporters. Unfortunately, Egypt got the lead in the game and was leading up til the 79th minute of the game before everything changed and we saw them fall behind. Just within 20 minutes, Argentina completed their comeback and won the game. It was really not what we expected from a team that’s really hungry to win this World Cup. Egypt couldn’t defend those goals and had to be eliminated by the defending champions. We are now left with only one Africa team in the World Cup, the same Morocco that reached the semifinals of the last World Cup. They’re going to be facing France who eliminated them in the semifinals in the last World Cup. They have a chance to qualify only if they’re able to beat France this time around.
