The definition of survive is differ from one person to other person, I believe you define survive when Bitcoin is accepted by most countries and the price are keep increasing. If you define like that, well no one know because technology always improve from time to time, quantum computing and centralization in miners could harm Bitcoin in the future.

If you don't care with the acceptance and price, I believe Bitcoin will always survive, we can still own and use Bitcoin, even though it could be worthless due to total ban or destroyed by the elites.

Bitcoin was not here with us couple of years back but Bitcoin is here so can it survive decades like normal money?
I don't consider 16 years as a couple of years back. Bitcoin Genesis Block was mined by Satoshi Nakamoto on 9 January 2009 and it has been nearly 16 years since then, which is a quite long time.

16 years are enough for Bitcoin to be tested, attacked, challenged and it has proven its good technology, decentralization and its strong survivalability over years. Your question is whether Bitcoin will survive in coming years and decades, my answer is "Yes, it will survive and become stronger over time."

Of course it will become more popular in the future and the next generation of young people will be most interested in Bitcoin. Bitcoin is a currency that is currently the most popular digital currency in the world. Before Bitcoin was not there but now it is and will be in the future, Bitcoin is the king of crypto currencies, it will definitely survive. You may understand from such comments that you do not have much faith in Bitcoin, if you are confident in Bitcoin then you will definitely understand that it is going to be a more popular currency for the next generation.
Because the demand for Bitcoin is increasing day by day and its price is changing, the main focus of investors in every country is on Bitcoin. You notice that various big companies are currently investing in Bitcoin to build their reserves, so we understand that Bitcoin will definitely be an expensive currency in the future and it is an asset for the next generation.

Bitcoin is a huge, long-term change that will develop over decades, and to understand it, one needs patience, realism, and a long-term perspective. Here is a great text I found while studying Bitcoin. Be sure to read it and you will get the answer to your question

I second the opinion that Bitcoin will likely stay, even if the government and whales decide to drop it for one reason or another. While the number of daily transactions will probably decrease, I think it should be enough to sustain the network for a few years at least. After that, we'll see if miners decide the network is too expensive to maintain or not, and how the community will react to them. Regardless of what you read online, nobody knows the future, OP.

We don't know the future but Bitcoin will survive and the next generation will also research Bitcoin. I am not sure but at some point paper money will disappear and people will use cryptocurrencies to meet their urgent needs. They will complete transactions with online money. Just wait for time. Bitcoin has the possibility of increasing its price gradually so it will survive until the next generation in the future. No matter how you consider it, people did not know about Bitcoin in the past, now people are surprised even when they hear the name of this Bitcoin. And they are interested in investing, I am not sure but I believe Bitcoin will survive and more people will know about Bitcoin and invest.

Bitcoin the future Asset

The cold wind of change is blowing across the globe. The need to reform the previous financial system has arisen. El Salvador has accepted Bitcoin as legal tender. Some US states have passed laws to make Bitcoin a strategic reserve.

Bitcoin early years were filled with distrust, but in just a few years, it has become a store of value and its value has exceeded $100k and is likely to reach $180k this year. Due to the limited supply there is a level of investor confidence and this number is gradually increasing.

With this some information I have given you, you should have no doubts about the future progress of Bitcoin. In the future when many countries in the world like some US states and El Salvador accept Bitcoin as a strategic reserve its demand will increase several times.

Although we cannot say anything for sure yet, it is reasonable to believe that Bitcoin will survive in harmony with the modern financial system for ages.

Bitcoin benefits is long term due to its limited supply so Bitcoin will definitely survive on the next generation and so on.

Bitcoin is already scarce while we are still on the early to mid cycle so what’s more on the future when Bitcoin is fully adopted globally. If we will reverse the question here, why will Bitcoin not survive im the future?

I can’t find any reason why Bitcoin will stop to exist while it’s already being regulated.

It's all speculation, truly, but I don't think these entities would leave BTC in the first place: after all, they do it for the same thing - profit, and they won't end it like that if the possibilities are better while staying aboard.

What Despairo said is the correct thing, surviving from one generation to another is moving from you to the next person, like from you to your children. And you know that Bitcoin have already seen many generations before now. We can't know what the other generations would look like but because of the historical news about Bitcoin it will stay till the next generation and more generations to come. Bitcoin might not replace the fiat currency but Bitcoin is actually the future.

Why not? Ask yourself; you will get a better answer from your inside, though we can express our thoughts on that. As we know, Bitcoin has been considered an investment asset more than its original goal of digital money that would be used without a third party. The comparison with existing traditional fiat with Bitcoin is very new since it was created in 2009. I believe Bitcoin will exist forever, and there are many reasons why I think about this. I will point out some features below that prove Bitcoin will survive forever.

First of all, Bitcoin doesn't have any team or isn't controlled by anyone. It's truly decentralised, and no one could destroy it. I know once a day the blockchain would update with more strong security and extra features by a hard fork. But there's no reason to destroy it. It's been more than 16 years since Bitcoin existed, and till now we haven't seen any security issues on the Bitcoin Blockchain at all. Whatever coins are created later, Bitcoin still can't challenge Bitcoin Blockchain.

On the other hand, Bitcoin seems to have become digital gold since it has a store value. That's the reason we can see a lot of institutional investors become interested in Bitcoin. It's just not been used like regular money. Even the government is trying to regulate Bitcoin, and they are adapting it, like reserve Bitcoin. So it does give us hope for how Bitcoin will exist like traditional currency. Though Bitcoin won't replace traditional fiat, it can definitely survive for decades as a parallel form of money. So everything seems positive about Bitcoin and how it would exist.

I will not compare bitcoin and internet adoption rates, and argue that bitcoin adoption is superior. This comparison is quite lame.

Because bitcoin is completely dependent on the internet, without the internet there would be no bitcoin. Where the internet is not yet adopted, bitcoin will never be known.

Global Internet adoption was slow in the early stages due to limited technical infrastructure, high costs, and lack of digital skills. Meanwhile, bitcoin only appeared when almost the whole world was exposed to and familiar with the Internet. So it is understandable why bitcoin has been adopted so quickly.

Yep, because all the steps for it were already there in many places around the world, - and it keeps getting better and better to adopt BTC for services and much more.

Crypto, in general, is much faster to adapt and learn around than the traditional world of web2.

Bitcoin already survives a decade and still counting towards a second decade but you're sounding as if bitcoin was just a year or two old. I think it's high time we overgrown this habit of comparing Bitcoin with traditional money. Money has boundaries limit and imbalance when it comes to value but Bitcoin breaks all these challenges despite being a volatile asset.

To answer your question straight, Bitcoin can survive for as long as you live to witness. I don't know what it'll worth by then but I'm confident it is going to survive many decades to come. Money was not initially the means of exchange but here we are today, Bitcoin was never meant to replace money but rather serve as alternative payment system devoid of central control. So Yes, Bitcoin can survive just like the normal money as you put it.

Bitcoin is very new type of money created in 2009 which is short time compared to traditional money like gold or paper cash which are here for hundreds or thousands of years. On one hand Bitcoin is not controlled by any government and has limited supply which could make it very strong. But on other hand its value changes much not enough people use it for daily shopping and governments are still trying to figure out to manage it. To survive long term Bitcoin needs to become more stable and useful way for everyone to pay for things and this is applying slowly. It has much of potential but it is still very early in its journey.

It will become the most used alternative to fiat one day, imo, we are on our way to use it for some of the services, and it won't stop there, and on reserves of it too  Wink

Bitcoin was not here with us couple of years back but Bitcoin is here so can it survive decades like normal money?
Most of us have been here even before bitcoin became a thing of relevance to the world, from it start to the present, it's safe to say that we are relatively at the early days of bitcoin and can only talk about how far next decade will look like after bitcoin has stayed for a relatively long period of time. Within the next ten years, literally the major part of current bitcoin enthusiast will likely still be in the bitcoin ecosystem and that will continue to give bitcoin it relevance even till then.

Even though those born in the gen Z period and the millennials are the active holders of bitcoin, the current younger generation are even more tech savvy than the older ones which gives them more room to even be a part of bitcoin adoption than others. If it's with the next generation, bitcoin is still in a safe hands.
