I disagree with you. No one is addicted from the beginning. In the context of gambling, gamblers become addicted gradually. I have seen some gamblers who enter this platform for fun and feel motivated to continue playing regardless of winning/defeat. I admit that the risk of addiction is highest for boys who are not mature in age but those who are involved in alternative income and are responsible for their family are at a much lower risk of addiction.

I see gambling as a form of entertainment and it doesn't have any relation to someones work. It feels like you might be conflating and associating two things that are generally separate. Somebody that is passionate about their job with a strong work ethic might very well have more disposable income and might see betting as a form of stress relief or excitement. This kind of gambler is often a higher energy individual and may actually need lots of stimulation or distraction. I've met plenty of lazy, robotic and not particularly intelligent people who gamble just because it fills up their day, giving them a bit more of a routine. I'd also say that people who are hustlers are generally aware of money management and are more careful with it, but the two are not exclusive.

Your comment reminded me of a case that happened to me a few months ago:

It was early in the morning and I was walking to my work when I met with an old friend from school I didn't see in ages. It was evident that he was still under the influence of some substance, but he recognised me and started talking about his life.

He told me that he wasn't a bad person, but that he liked vice too much. I even think that some players may be most motivated to earn money when they need to pay off debts. Moreover, I've watched various videos about addicted gamblers, and this seems to be true. I don't understand from what perspective you call gambling hard work. I do research about the team while gambling especially when betting on sports. Their previous win or loss statistics, knowing about the players, the team's injury problems, trying to learn about each subject in detail. You can participate in betting without doing much research or you can increase your experience by following experienced gamblers. You don't consider gambling as hard work. I mostly gamble to pass the time it is also entertainment for me.

Winning in gambling is not guaranteed, but if you play randomly, it will increase your losses. When you allocate time for gambling, you should research to increase your experience and play according to your own decisions.
