Just want to share something I’ve observed in our community. I know a few people who are consistent gamblers, yet they also work really hard. It seems like gambling actually pushes them to hustle more, because they need money to fuel their gambling activities.

In their case, they’ve been gambling for years, but they’re still responsible with work, so I don’t see it as pure irresponsibility. Their motivation might be different, but they’re still putting in the effort, even if the end goal is just to fund their gambling.

So how do you see this kind of lifestyle? Do you judge them as wrong because their reason is gambling, or do you respect it since everyone has their own way of finding happiness?

It’s funny because I do feel this sometimes whenever I lose my bankroll. I’m encouraged to work harder to cover for my losses and forget about it since I already gained through my salary.

I know it’s not ethically correct but I find myself doing this unknowingly as my way to counter my recent loss.

But people shouldn’t be encouraged to work harder for the sake of gambling because it’s a complete waste of effort if they don’t have proper gambling management that results to lost on most part of their salary regularly, worst losing your month salary on gambling in an instant.

In as much as they aren't committing evil to fuel their gambling then it's fine, because I have seen lot of people who did all sorts of things to fuel their gambling desires. If people could work and still maintain a self gambling practice then it's fine and provided they are happy doing it and gambling responsibly there is nothing to worry about it.

Although, I don't think it's gamble that is causing them to work very hard, already they could be a hard worker who so much believe in working to make money than depending on people, so instead of staying idle after work they could decide to also try someone differently by gambling as well.

The experience I saw.
• There is someone who is lazy to work every day, he only knows gambling, time is often spent on betting, the money he uses to gamble as far as I know from stealing whether it is done from his family members or others.
• And there is also something that I see him every day of construction workers, unfortunately the money is obtained every day to be spent gambling.

The point: individuals determine their economy and also crafts or lazy, regardless of money used for gambling or other things

Don't you think in this case it is assumed that gambling has become one of the priority towards their hardworking just so they could fund their gambling wallet all just for the crave or eagerness tied on gambling?
And perhaps if such be the case, it is practically unhealthy for them because it might look well for a start especially when the winning is coming but at the end of accessing your gambling histories in the long run, you will find out you have made unnecessary budgets just for gambling. Of which, the fact will only be realized if the regular gambler has not been addicted otherwise, they might think all is well but literally they are harming themselves either mentally or financially.

I don't see this as disrespectful in any way, especially since gamblers can choose gambling as their own entertainment. If people who work hard need some entertainment at the end of the day, then there's nothing wrong with gambling. Another thing you have noticed is that they work extra hard to manage their gambling money and they also notice that they only work hard and do not engage in any other anti-social activities to manage their gambling money. They are working extra hard, of course, that is respectable.

For me it’s the opposite. When I lose my bankroll I usually deposit more to chase my losses, and that ends up with me losing everything which turns into a bigger problem. I never really work hard just to finance my gambling, it’s more about losing patience. Greed kicks in, we break our own rules, and suddenly we gamble recklessly.

I can only say that such lifestyle is not bad that's if they're not gambling addict, but i have never seen a responsible gambler who have chosen to double his hustle just so that he can raise fund to gamble if not those who are addicted to gamble that can possibly go with this lifestyle, Those who are playing for fun and entertainment I'm sure they don't go with this lifestyle.

 if they have exceed the amount they intend to gamble with they will have to give it a break until they finally get funds that's when they will think of going again, so anyone that is going with this lifestyle is approaching it wrongly and I would say that the person is not just playing for fun but for profit making.

This is an exception to the rule when, for the sake of wanting to play, a person starts working harder in order to later lose this money in a casino. And it's hard for me to believe this, since most often addicted players replenish their deposit by borrowing money from others, selling their property, and even resorting to theft.

This is completely a wrong perception about what is happening, yes they are working harder just to make money and use that money to make more money so it makes people lazy but their addiction just enables them to do whatever it takes to make that money so they can bet.

If they are working hard their next goal should be how to get into a better position than their current job or business but what they will always think about is how they can become so rich yet doing nothing to make it a reality.

This is a very good question. Yes, gambling activity inspires a person to work hard. Some people lose their money while gambling due to which they work hard to earn money to manage their daily life. On the other hand, many people will be so addicted to gambling that they start asking for loans from different people to continue their gambling and when they get pains in getting loans, then they start working hard to earn money themselves. I have seen many people like this and I have faced this myself. However, it is very commendable to start working hard from here on out, but if the money earned through that hard work is used again for gambling, then it will be a bad habit.

For some people maybe yes, but for others it’s not. Who would work hard just to lose at the end of the day? A life like that would be tiring, you work only to lose it to gambling. In the end you’re just making casinos richer while making your own life miserable.

If you have that kind of mindset, I don’t think it’s normal for a responsible person. Maybe these people should be checked, because they might not commit crimes now, but in the future they could if they get too addicted. Gambling should only be seen as entertainment. If you work just to gamble, then you’re treating it like a responsibility or a basic need, which is already wrong.

I guess not and I think only those people experience addiction think about that since maybe they strive to earn money just to have capital for their gambling activities. If they are really confirm to experience addiction next to that is they might do crime since their urge to get money will be so high and they might do everything they can just to get money.

Sane people would provably work hard for their daily needs also their dreams to make their life better. But for gambling I really think it doesn't have any contributing factor since its kinda sound weird if we think about that.

I don't judge people since I'm also a gambler but if they are in bad condition maybe I will advice them to get immediate help.

Working very hard just to gamble is not a good financial management practice, because you are throwing away the sweat of your labor for nothing. Is the gambler not planning to improve his financial lifestyle and live a better life. Gambling is not a business neither will you be satisfied with the entertainment. Therefore, why will anyone put gambling first in his life and forget about other important aspect of life. No matter how hard you work, it is what you have to show in life that people will take you for.

The most important thing is to be responsible for meeting basic monthly needs, at least for yourself. If someone have a family, that's considered sufficient. However, if someone solely focus on working to make money and then use it all for gambling, I believe that's misguided, even if it has become a habit for someone, or even a hobby. Generally speaking, that's not wrong, as I believe the reasons are quite varied, as everyone has their own way of finding motivation and happiness.

Well as they say who takes loans is a good worker meaning he has to work even harder now to pay the loans and I don't know why people takes loans in the first place except house loans which one person nowadays has no other choice. Now comparing this to gambling it may also be true as the more money one makes by working harder the more money he has to gamble and can better fuel the gambling passion. Well I doubt that hard worker find happiness anywhere as I have tried myself when I started a new job which I was very passionate about and I worked so hard that I didn't have time to think what happiness was, luckily I stopped for a moment and thought to myself that my life cannot be thrown to just a job and so here I am enjoying life.

Although I do not fully agree with their methods, it is a manifestation of their efforts to continue funding the gambling they have consistently engaged in for years without worsening their situation. This means they are still responsible for their other needs and jobs, even though they may have to work harder to earn more to allocate to gambling.

People should not work for gambling; gambling should be the least of priorities when working. If you are like that, then you are considered addicted to gambling, and your motivation to work is to play in casinos.

We should prioritise working for our family, as it depends on us, and allocate any excess funds to other needs. If a significant percentage of your income is allocated to gambling, then you just admitted that gambling is part of your life, and you are working to sustain it.  
Put gambling into perspective; you are foremost a husband and a father, and your inspiration should be for your family.

I believe most people think like you that’s why I find it funny that I behave like this when I lose. I do this for myself fulfillment to not think about my previous loss because I can earn it back through my work.

On the bright side, I’m not very active on gambling so I consider my work as way to take a break on gambling. This way I can work hard and focus on my work then just gamble later once I’m free and have extra money for gambling.
