The situation in Nigeria is truly heartbreaking. No one should be killed or forced to flee their homes because of their faith. Freedom of religion is a fundamental human right, and every Nigerian  whether Christian, Muslim, or of any other belief  deserves safety and protection.

At the same time, the violence in Nigeria is very complex. Different armed groups such as extremist organizations, bandits, and militant factions have targeted civilians in various regions. While many Christians have suffered greatly, there have also been Muslim communities attacked in different areas. The crisis involves religious tensions, but also political instability, ethnic conflicts, poverty, land disputes, and weak security structures.

It is important that the Nigerian government takes stronger and more effective action to protect *all* citizens, ensure justice for victims, and hold perpetrators accountable. The international community should also continue to pay attention and support efforts toward peace and stability.

Violence against any religious group must stop. People should be free to worship  or not worship — without fear. We should stand against persecution everywhere and promote dialogue, justice, and peace rather than division.

Praying for peace and safety for everyone affected in Nigeria.

If only we can get a conducive environment where peace, love and freedom is made available in Nigeria is think it could be a good one for citizens. They said all have freedom of worship but day by day innocent people are killed for the choice of worship and nothing is done about it all because of political instability and corrupt mindset from all angles And with the way things are going i think its right time we stand to defend ourselves as we are the once that can provide all kind of solutions we need as depending on our leaders  is same as digging our graves and getting ready to be buried.  But let the truth be told, it is annoying to see what is happening in the country Nigeria because the killing needs to stop and peace restored  back

You cannot make peace with Islamic extremists and must stop pandering to them. They are a threat to not only Nigeria but the whole continent and the US does not want another 9/11 from these people so get your house in order.

Islamic extremist terrorists burn a Christian woman to death and are then set free by the Nigerian terrorist state.

On 12 May 2022, Deborah Samuel Yakubu, a second-year Nigerian Christian college student, was stoned to death by a mob of Muslim students in Sokoto, Nigeria, after being accused of blasphemy against Islam. The Muslim suspects arrested were charged with "criminal conspiracy and incitement of public disturbance", bailable offences with a maximum two year jail time. A team of 34 lawyers led by Prof. Mansur Ibrahim defended the suspects who were subsequently acquitted by the court citing non-showing of prosecution lawyers.

They don't deserve any form of dialogue or reconciliation now as there mind is already made up and plans well established on how to cause more harm to the nation, all they need now is total destruction without any sign of forgiveness because know amount of dialogue can make them accept or say yes to peace and unity as they find pleasure in causing harm to the nation at large.
The case of deborah alone is supposed to be a good reason for the faith of citizens to be decided as there can not be two captains in on ship. It is constitutionally recognised in Nigeria that there is religious choice but now living in the northern part of Nigeria  Christianity is like a sin but outside there they dont disturb them even for blasphemous words against Christianity . If they could do so to Christians what makes you think both are compatible

God has protected Christians in two ways:
1. If they study the Bible, God will work to change their circumstances so that they find peace in life;
2. If they die (as all people do) they will find salvation that in Heaven that people fo other religions (Muslims) will not have.

8)

It's very hard to deny this because you believe in three gods, while others struggle to fulfill their responsibilities to one god, you believe in three gods at the same time. Heaven is undoubtedly yours. This must be really hard work...

Think about it: A person working one job gets very tired. A person working three jobs gets even more tired.

The Book of Genesis is included in both Judaism and Christianity, as it is the first book of the Hebrew Bible and the Christian Old Testament. Additionally, it is recognized in Islam as part of the broader narrative of the Abrahamic faiths.

Genesis/3-22 Then the LORD God said, "The man has become like one of us, since he knows good and evil. He must not reach out and take the fruit from the tree of life and eat. Then he would live forever."

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Who are we to argue with the creator who created all living things or doubt him sending his son or living word made flesh. If we doubt this possibility then we doubt his ability to do anything or create anything for is it not said that for him anything is possible?

Jesus of Nazareth spoke the truth and the word of the Father. He is the king of all kings and those who attack his good name will pay a heavy price. If God cannot be mocked then you can be assured his beloved Son cannot be mocked either and to mock God's Holy Spirit is an offence of the most serious nature. For God anything is possible.

I respect all religions in the world and their passages. I don't want to be misunderstood. I even respect Hercules, the son of Zeus in Ancient Greece. He was also the son of a god. I think there might be a connection here, but thankfully that's not our topic... :)

However, when I put the passages aside and think logically, I have some questions...

By definition, God is a necessary being, existing outside or above time, and is infinite (square).
By definition, humans are possible beings, bound by time, and are finite (triangle).

By definition, a square has four corners.
By definition, a triangle has three corners.

So, can a square be both a quadrilateral and a triangle?

Wake up, this is never happening. Greed alone and selfishness will not let peace, love and freedom roam freely among the Nigerian citizens. The cause of this is religion. Religion was introduced for people with like mind and worship gather and carry out their belief without another group talking ill about them. However, that religion has made many believe their own religion is the better. Whereas no religion is actually the best and none is the worst. We all have what we believe in and everyone in the world should be allowed to stand on their belief.

We must respond collectively to crimes against humanity. What happened in Ukraine, Palestine, and here is directed against all of us. Whoever kills one person is like killing all of humanity. Those who kill these people today may kill us tomorrow...

Yeah, I'm so in love who puts humanity first,  like fvck being Muslim and Christian, we all bleed the same blood for Godsake. And let's not forget the silent Genocide ongoing in Sudan and Congo. They're not being talked about because they're obviously blacks, it's exhausting how we let these people gets away fund for such grave crimes against humanity and get away with it because they want mineral resources.  There are better ways to go about it.

They're not being talked about because they're obviously blacks,

Nonsense, It is "whitey" with their Christian we owe everyone everything complex who is helping "blackie" with their perpetual I am a victim complex while africans have their countries looted by their own corrupt leaders. In south africa which was one of the richest countries on earth they still blame whitey while marxists destroy the country and have the ignorant masses of imbeciles shout lets take the land from whitey. We see how that worked out in zimbabwae.

Here is an example of a tiny whitey country albeit a bit too anti Israel for my liking, that was subjugated and colonised for 800 years because they wouldn't give up their Catholic christian faith now pound for pound one of the wealthiest pieces of real estate on earth who haze zero oil in the ground or gold and diamonds still looking after their black african christian and even muslim brethern without a victim complex. Oh and lets not forget the millions of whites slaughtered and enslaved by the muslim ottomans either while we are at it. Yes keep poking at whitey until his patience runs out.

Ireland ( A tuny whiter than white little island off the north west coast of europe with no oil or mineral wealth handed to them) has committed significant humanitarian aid to Sudan, totaling €14.3 million in 2025, with recent funding of €3 million aimed at supporting UN agencies in providing urgent relief to those affected by the crisis. This assistance focuses on addressing food shortages, health care, and essential services for displaced populations amidst the ongoing humanitarian disaster.

Ireland provided over €330 million in direct response to humanitarian crises around the world in 2025, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade Helen McEntee, and Minister for International Development and Diaspora Neale Richmond have said.

The funding, through Irish Aid, included providing shelter, food and medicine to people in conflict zones such as Gaza and Sudan, as well as people who felt the impact of climate-related disasters in places such as Sri Lanka and Vietnam.

Ireland’s humanitarian assistance reached a record high of €330 million in 2024 and is due to exceed those levels for 2025, driven primarily by Ireland’s support for people living in areas of conflict.

You're right dear, i used to tell my friends outside this forum that asides bad leadership, religion is one of the major problem of Nigeria, it has divided us to the point that we forget we're one despite our different ethnicity and beliefs. Go on X and see how Nigerians banter themselves concerning which religion is the best, you'll be so disappointed.

Some even support terrorists because they practice same religion, it's so sickening that human life is not valued anymore cause of the so called religion, dear i don't actually give an f of whatever religion anyone belongs to, all we need is peace for our nation to go forward cause it's really dragging us backwards.

I don't actually use these terms this way, but you did. I will say black and white just this once.

When white Englishmen starved white Irishmen to death, the Ottomans helped the Irish.
https://www.aa.com.tr/en/europe/ireland-remembers-how-19th-century-aid-from-sultan-abdulmejid-changed-fate-of-thousands/1734689

During the conquest of Istanbul, the Byzantine statesman Loukas Notaras is credited with saying, “I would rather see an Ottoman turban in Constantinople than a Latin cap.”

This painting depicts the conquest of Istanbul.

There is a black Ottoman in it. In other words, throughout history, the Ottomans stood against those who committed injustices, regardless of whether they were black or white, rather than targeting black people because they were weak. Remember, John Locke, one of the founding fathers of liberalism, was a slave trader...

Thank you for bringing these truths to light by discussing the Ottomans...

With the way things are going into will say religion is used as a medium to disorganise and bring hatred among all citizens in the world,  if not for this misinterpretation in religious beliefs will some one find pleasure in killing innocent citizens all because of religious differences. Just as mentioned above all we are supposed to be interested in is how to put an end to those nonsense killing in Nigeria and not in a y other thin as the lifes of citizens is far much important than any other thing.
So I dont care how Trump intend doing it but all I need is nothing but peace so citizens will be free to do what so ever they wish for.

Here are some other truths for you and some artwork thrown in for good measure as you have brought art into the equation. Yes I know the virtue signalling Ottoman Sultan originally intended to send £10,000 to aid the Irish who were being pushed from their land through penal laws and use of food as a weapon by the british as their beef, game, fish stocks, wheat, oats, barley, poultry etc etc etc was being exported at 3 times the normal price by protestant estate owners to Liverpool and rotterdam etc while irish were hung by ropes if they fished in a river or hunted in the fields, but was persuaded to reduce his donation to £1,000 to avoid offending a whitey lady called Queen Victoria, who had contributed £2,000. His priority was not offending the colonial queen over giving a full donation to the subdued gael. Your inability to refer to a black person as black and a white person as white shows your repressed point of view more than a mere level of courtesy or political correctness. Black is black, white is white, brown is brown unless you are ottoman and like to call a person of color a zenciler. Now go and ask black Julius Milema leader of the EFF in south africa who will attest to this fact and then ask him why he generalises all whites as colonials and then go and explain this to the Irish being labeled as a people with white privilege by virtue signalling fucks who attempt to erase history.

While slavery was by the 1870s viewed as morally unacceptable in the West, slavery was not considered to be immoral in the Muslim world since it was an institution recognized in the Quran and morally justified under the guise of warfare against non-Muslims

In 1571, a Venetian commander named Marcoantonio Bragadin was also flayed alive after he surrendered to the Ottoman Turks.

Quote
“He was flayed from head to toe and stuffed with straw in effigy. When his tomb was opened in 1961, they found his skin,” Dr. Larissa “Kat” Tracy explained in a Longwood University article in 2017. https://www.longwood.edu/news/2017/flaying-not-a-common-practice-in-middle-ages/

The ottomans genocided well over a million Armenians in recent history or maybe post a painting of the massacre of christians in herkalion or any other atrocities carried out or maybe a nice painting of a christian having the skin flayed off their body while alive so keep painting a nice picture of their history with your virtue signalling brush conveniently airbrushing inconvenient facts from history. The majority of my BLACK and MUSLIM friends agree with me and they are quite well educated and qualified re historical facts.

Yes you would probably like to see the ottoman turban in the vatican also. Speaking of "Latin caps" at least the ottoman removed this archbishops latin cab before they flayed him at least and before they removed his "skull cap". Sinan Pasha of Temeşvar Eyalet captured Teodor and had him flayed and burned alive. The same year, as a response to the uprising, Saint Sava's remains were burnt at the Vračar hill on the order of Sinan Pasha,

Victims of the "Great Slaughter" in the northern Syrian city of Aleppo, shown in a photo from 1919. Violence against Armenian centers in eastern regions of the dying Ottoman Empire spiked over the summer of 1915, beginning what historians consider to be the first genocide of the 20th century.

In the period 1914-1923 a variety of atrocities were perpetrated on the Armenian, Assyrian and the Pontic Greek, the Christian minorities living under the rule of the Muslim Ottoman Empire. These pogroms included political persecution, massacres, deportations, rape, expropriation of property and destruction of churches and villages.

I always pray to God to put people like you under my feet. Elhamdülillah. Now, first to my Nigerian brothers and sisters here, and then to everyone else, I will show the truth...

Black is black, white is white, brown is brown unless you are ottoman and like to call a person of color a zenciler.

The word zenci used during the Ottoman period does not mean negro; it is a concept that refers to ethnic origins such as Arab, Greek, or Armenian.

The example from Libya is nonsense. You are trying to link a state that has collapsed due to civil war and a lack of state authority to Ottoman history. This is clearly nonsense. This is called whataboutism.

The claim that Islam considers slavery legitimate is also incorrect. Slavery existed before Islam. Islam did not start slavery. Prisoners of war were declared slaves as an economic and sociological interpretation of the era. Furthermore, there are dozens of incentives to free slaves. On the other hand, the Atlantic slave trade was a race-based and hereditary system. Only someone with limited intelligence would equate the two.

In the Atlantic slave system, slavery was race-based and hereditary. The children of slaves became slaves. Socially, their chances of upward mobility were zero. Most slaves in the Ottoman Empire were prisoners of war. They were freed, and some rose high enough to hold positions in state institutions.

Interpreting these two as the same is a problem of reason.

In America, until 30-40 years ago, people were not allowed to sit on buses, but in the Ottoman Empire, 100 years ago, they could become airplane pilots. There are dozens of Africans in history who rose to prominence in the Ottoman Empire and attained the rank of pasha.

If the Ottomans had wanted to carry out a systematic genocide against Armenians and Christians, they wouldn't have done it after living together for 600 years. This should clearly be seen as a problem of the WWI. You don't see the 600-year span of history, but you see a few years of it. This is cherry picking. How many more logical fallacies will you make, Mr. Anderson? Why do you insist on this? Why, why?

virtue signalling

I don't want to divide people into black or white. Also, I say West Asia, not Middle East. These are concepts that emerged during the colonial period of the Atlantic colonialist mentality. I categorize people by region, not by color. For example, African, Asian, European, Finnish, Japanese, or German. The language of the colonial era doesn't suit me, maybe it suits you.

Thank you for being under my feet. Now my Nigerian brothers and sisters see everything more clearly thanks to you...

But let the truth be told, it is annoying to see what is happening in the country Nigeria because the killing needs to stop and peace restored  back
Wake up, this is never happening.
Religious problem can also been seen as the  cause of the genocide in Nigeria before considering greed and corruption also.  If we look at the statistical records of the killing you will see that for years now millions of Christians with little Muslims have been killed which clearly justified the claim that the killing is mostly based on Religious battle and not just any other reason.  Although when it started I will say it was a political strategic plans of disorganising the plans of the opposition party and make citizens lose trust Although we may not know there primary objectives but with the level it has gotten to now its clear it is now  Religious battle as they wish to convert all to Muslims.

I live in the Southern part of Nigeria, far from the violence-prone Northern region, but I also have information about the insecurity in that area. From what I know, both Christians and Muslims are suffering from the attacks of these Jihadists. Both Mosques and Churches have been attacked and worshippers murdered in cold blood.

Gunmen in Nigeria kill Muslim worshippers in 'reprisal attack'

Bandits ‘kill 5 worshippers, abduct others’ in Zamfara mosque attack

Gunmen kill at least 27 in mosque attack in northern Nigeria, officials say

From the sophisticated weapons that these bandits parade, it is obvious that they have foreign sponsors. It is on record that a lawmaker in the US Congress made it clear that the US is using the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to sponsor terrorist activities in Nigeria. My conclusion is that both Christians and Muslims are victims of these terrorists because these killers don't belong to any religion. They are radicalised terrorists hiding under the Islamic religion.

OP should have known that the first picture in the original post is an Islamic burial scene.

Interesting take. The point about both religions being targeted is often missed in international headlines. However, the claim about USAID sponsoring terrorists is a very specific allegation from a U.S. subcommittee hearing in Feb 2025 that is still highly contested. We need to see the receipts before concluding it's official U.S. policy to fund the same groups they are officially fighting.

Yes and in the US hundreds of thousands of whites died fighting the rabid hillbilly rednecks emancipating their black brothers and sisters. Hey they even  had one as president. Your point?

No problem. You continue to take care of your black muslim brothers and we will stand behind our black Christian brothers. Even Allah would agree they need protecting. Heck we will even protect or black muslim brothers and sisters who disagree with this shit  Undecided

[snipped the nonsense]

You have put nobody "under your feet", all you have done is put your own foot in your mouth . You ignore the facts and retort with rhetoric and the usual deflections because you  do not have a valid counter argument  Grin. Islamic Turks massacred approximately 1.5 million Armenians, 300,000 Assyrians, and 750,000 Greeks.

The Quran not only ordered the killing of those who embraced Islam and afterwards decided to renegade, but also commanded the followers to fight all nations until they either believe in it, pay the Jizya or face death,Surat At-Tauba 9:29 , and in the same Sura, verse 5, the Qur'an also states: "Fight and slay the pagans wherever ye find them and seize them, beleaguer them, and lie in wait for them in every stratagem.

In 1786, when the United States was barely a country, it was having its sailors taken as slaves by the Barbary states, the states of the Ottoman Empire and North Africa. Tripoli. Shores of Tripoli. Ships stopped, its crews carried off into slavery. We estimate 1.5 million.

Now when you grow up..stop being a liar and accept responsibility for your atrocities and make a genuine apology maybe we can talk  Grin

May 1, 2020 by Raymond Ibrahim 4 Comments

Raymond Ibrahim is a Shillman Fellow at the David Horowitz Freedom Center.

Last Friday, April 24, marked the “Great Crime,” that is, the genocide of Christians—primarily Armenians Assyrians and Greeks—that took place under the Islamic Ottoman Empire, throughout World War I.  Then, in an attempt to wipe out as many Christians as possible, the Turks massacred approximately 1.5 million Armenians, 300,000 Assyrians, and 750,000 Greeks.

Most objective American historians who have studied the question unequivocally agree that it was a deliberate, calculated genocide:

More than one million Armenians perished as the result of execution, starvation, disease, the harsh environment, and physical abuse.  A people who lived in eastern Turkey for nearly 3,000 years [more than double the amount of time the invading Islamic Turks had occupied Anatolia, now known as “Turkey”] lost its homeland and was profoundly decimated in the first large-scale genocide of the twentieth century.  At the beginning of 1915 there were some two million Armenians within Turkey; today there are fewer than 60,000….  Despite the vast amount of evidence that points to the historical reality of the Armenian Genocide, eyewitness accounts, official archives, photographic evidence, the reports of diplomats, and the testimony of survivors, denial of the Armenian Genocide by successive regimes in Turkey has gone on from 1915 to the present.

Similarly, in 1920, U.S. Senate Resolution 359 heard testimony that included evidence of “[m]utilation, violation, torture, and death [which] have left their haunting memories in a hundred beautiful Armenian valleys, and the traveler in that region is seldom free from the evidence of this most colossal crime of all the ages.”

In her memoir, Ravished Armenia, Aurora Mardiganian described being raped and thrown into a harem (consistent with Islam’s rules of war).  Unlike thousands of other Armenian girls who were discarded after being defiled, she managed to escape. In the city of Malatia, she saw 16 Christian girls crucified: “Each girl had been nailed alive upon her cross,” she wrote, “spikes through her feet and hands, only their hair blown by the wind, covered their bodies.” Such scenes were portrayed in the 1919 documentary film Auction of Souls, some of which is based on Mardiganian’s memoirs.

Whereas the genocide is largely acknowledged in the West, one of its primary if not fundamental causes is habitually overlooked: religion.  The genocide is usually articulated through a singularly secular paradigm, one that factors only things that are intelligible from a secular, Western point of view—such as identity and gender politics, nationalism, and territorial disputes. Such an approach does little more than project modern Western perspectives onto vastly different civilizations and eras.

War, of course, is another factor that clouds the true face of the genocide.  Because these atrocities mostly occurred during World War I, so the argument goes, they are ultimately a reflection of just that—war, in all its chaos and destruction, and nothing more.  But as Winston Churchill, who described the massacres as an “administrative holocaust,” correctly observed, “The opportunity [WWI] presented itself for clearing Turkish soil of a Christian race.”  Even Adolf Hitler, ominously presaging his own plans, had pointed out that “Turkey is taking advantage of the war in order to thoroughly liquidate its internal foes, i.e., the indigenous Christians, without being thereby disturbed by foreign intervention.”

It’s worth noting that little has changed; in the context of war in Iraq, Syria, and Libya, the first to be targeted for genocide have been Christians and other minorities.

But even the most cited factor of the Armenian Genocide, “ethnic identity conflict,” while legitimate, must be understood in light of the fact that, historically, religion accounted more for a person’s identity than language or heritage.   This is daily demonstrated throughout the Islamic world today, where Muslim governments and Muslim mobs persecute Christian minorities who share the same race, ethnicity, language, and culture; minorities who are indistinguishable from the majority—except, of course, for being non-Muslims, or “infidels.”

As one Armenian studies professor asks, “If it [the Armenian Genocide] was a feud between Turks and Armenians, what explains the genocide carried out by Turkey against the Christian Assyrians at the same time?” The same can be said about the Greeks. From a Turkish perspective, the primary thing Armenians, Assyrians, and Greeks had in common was that they were all Christian “infidels.”

According to a 2017 book, Year of the Sword: The Assyrian Christian Genocide, the “policy of ethnic cleansing was stirred up by pan-Islamism and religious fanaticism.  Christians were considered infidels (kafir).  The call to Jihad, decreed on 29 November 1914 and instigated and orchestrated for political ends, was part of the plan” to “combine and sweep over the lands of Christians and to exterminate them.”   As with Armenians and Greeks, eyewitness accounts tell of the sadistic eye-gouging of Assyrians and the gang rape of their children on church altars. According to key documents, all this was part of “an Ottoman plan to exterminate Turkey’s Christians.”

Today, from Indonesia in the east to Morocco in the west, from Central Asia in the north, to sub-Sahara Africa—that is, throughout the entire Islamic world—Muslims are, to varying degrees, persecuting, killing, raping, enslaving, torturing and dislocating Christians; where formal Islamic groups such as the Islamic State (ISIS), Al Shabaab, Boko Haram, etc., hold sway, Christians and other “infidels” are literally experiencing a genocide.  (See Crucified Again: Exposing Islam’s New War on Christians — or my monthly “Muslim Persecution of Christians” report — for a comprehensive and ongoing account of the “great crime” of our times.)

To understand how the historic genocide of Armenians, Assyrians, and Greeks is representative of the modern day plight of Christians under Islam, one need only read the following words written in 1918 by President Theodore Roosevelt; however, read “Armenian” as “Christian” and “Turkish” as  “Islamic,” as supplied in brackets:

the Armenian [Christian] massacre was the greatest crime of the war, and the failure to act against Turkey [the Islamic world] is to condone it… the failure to deal radically with the Turkish [Islamic] horror means that all talk of guaranteeing the future peace of the world is mischievous nonsense.

Similarly, if we “fail to deal radically” with the “horror” currently being visited upon millions of Christians around the Islamic world, we “condone it” and had better cease talking “mischievous nonsense” of a utopian world of peace and tolerance.

Put differently, silence is always the ally of those who would liquidate the “other.”  In 1915, Adolf Hitler rationalized his genocidal plans, which he implemented some three decades later, when he rhetorically asked: “Who, after all, speaks today of the annihilation of the Armenians?”

And who among today’s Western politicians speaks—let alone does anything—about the ongoing annihilation of Christians by Muslims?
