I agree with this sentence. I've been saying that for years. Holding Bitcoin alone doesn't make you a Bitcoiner as well as praying in the church doesn't make you a Christian if you commit crimes when you go outside. A true Bitcoiner is someone who, most importantly, uses Bitcoin for buying things, who prioritises Bitcoin over cash and fiat.

Btw I have to admit that despite the fact that I've always advocating against holding and was always supporting massive Bitcoin usage for making transactions, today I think that holding and hodling matter a lot because governments, banks and other corporations want to collect as many Bitcoins as possible and we shouldn't help them succeed in this plan.

If you say so, then Satoshi, the creator of bitcoin, is not a bitcoin user either, right? Because he is one of the biggest bitcoin holders and has never used it for spending or shopping in the past 16 years. Even the creator of bitcoin is not called a bitcoiner, so who among us is qualified to deserve that title?

Over the years, there have been many people who have objected to the idea of holding bitcoin and want bitcoin to be used for its original purpose. But you know what, they just complain to others, encourage others, but they themselves are secretly holding bitcoin for a long time to make profit.

Before bitcoin ETFs are approved and governments intervene in the market, do you use bitcoin as a currency or just invest in it?

And i will agree with you. being a bitcoiner is not just about hodling bitcoin or trading bitcoin, their is more to make one a bitcoiner. I think the main thing that makes one to be a bitcoiner is the belief you have for bitcoin, if your belief for bitcoin is very poor and you have some doubt about bitcoin and you having some struggling with bitcoin, i dont think just hodling bitcoin and having some fractions of bitcoin makes you to be a bitcoiner. bitcoin is an institution and their is more to understand about bitcoin. I will say the real and main things you know about bitcoin thats what makes one to be bitcoine. it is possible to hodl bitcoin and trade but that does not still approve one to be bitcoiner.

Well on the subject of Satoshi, I believe Satoshi knew perfectly well that Bitcoin
would also become something to HODL, why? primarily because of the design,
why wouldnt anyone choose to HODL something rare and limited in resource?

Bitcoin adoption grows from the multi use cases and how people want to interact
with it. Not everyone HODL's indefinitely.

The OP has it wrong so much that nobody agrees with the points

So my point here is that owning Bitcoin doesn't automatically make you a Bitcoiner, it just makes you someone with Bitcoin, and that's just ...uhmm I don't know, how do you feel if you realized your just a user.
I'd like to ask  if you were to give "someone with Bitcoin" a name, what would you call that person? Obviously, the long phrase you used sounds a bit off, I mean vocalize it and listen to how it sounds in your ear. Someone who's hodling Bitcoin is still part of the Bitcoin ecosystem. If you think they contribute nothing to the community and don't deserve to be called a Bitcoiner, then I think you might be missing something.

Are you saying indirectly that someone with a citizenship card or any other form of identification that certifies their citizenship isn't part of that country, maybe because they're not as active or not among the original natives? Being a Bitcoiner isn't about how loud or visible your contribution is it's about being part of the network and ecosystem in any slightest form.

It really funny when some folks here think they are Bitcoiners just because they hold some amount of Bitcoin, anyone can buy and hold Bitcoin, thats what so many folks are practicing then they claim to be Bitcoiners. They fail to understand that Bitcoin was not just meant to be an investment, that's what many here think that Bitcoin is just an investment tool for just making profit. A true Bitcoiner doesn't just sit there with Bitcoin sleeping in your account, you need to be part of a certain movement, an action, not just about profit. How many transactions have you made in Bitcoin, how do you engage in Bitcoin beyond price and profit. You need to ask yourself this question (Am I a user or a Bitcoiner)
So my point here is that owning Bitcoin doesn't automatically make you a Bitcoiner, it just makes you someone with Bitcoin, and that's just ...uhmm I don't know, how do you feel if you realized your just a user.
What truly defines you as a Bitcoiner isnt holding, it's the doing. No big deal

I didn't know there was a special classification for being a Bitcoiner, and this time I found it in your article, this is really extraordinary, that there is a standardization of claims to be a Bitcoiner so that I can be considered a bitcoiner, haha good thinking, but what does it do?

Anyone can claim they are a Bitcoiner, whether it is genuine or not is not a problem, or just holding bitcoins that have been around for more than a decade, the claim is free, and no one has to verify it, besides who cares? Roll Eyes

If you have fraction of Bitcoin and a wallet seed phrase, why not become a Bitcoiner ? It is a matter of perspective that your country's government prints fiat and reaches its citizens through banks and financial institutions through the central bank and you have to earn it through hard work. And with that money, you can own a lot of assets. The exchange rate of different countries with the dollar depends on the inflation rate of that country. Being decentralized digital asset the price of Bitcoin most of the time depends on demand.

In investing in the capital market, when you buy a product, that product is not physically deposited in your warehouse, it is shown in digital form in your portfolio. When you hold Bitcoin, its ownership is exclusively yours and you are a Bitcoiner.

Actually, I don't really care whether I deserve to be called a Bitcoiner or not, what I care about is trying to maximize the potential of Bitcoin to achieve long-term profits.

This is what I want to say too, and honestly, I don't really care if I'm a bitcoiner or not.

I just know that my main goal in getting into bitcoin is to improve my financial situation and gain freedom, as long as I achieve my goals. What people call me and who I am is not very important.

What does the title bitcoiner mean and what is the benefit if it cannot help us improve our lives, cannot protect us from inflation, currency devaluation?

Why is it doing that? The sole purpose being profit. That's why I also invest in Bitcoin and look forward to the future. Because Bitcoin can change a person's life. On the other hand, if you save money through Bitcoin, it remains in your control and can be used at any time. But we should always make the right decision, so that Bitcoin can be used properly.

For me being a Bitcoiner is about understanding why Bitcoin exists and participating in its ecosystem whether that’s transacting, educating others, supporting open-source projects or even just advocating for financial sovereignty. I think holding does have meaning when someone chooses to hold instead of selling or trading away their coins, they’re showing a kind of belief and commitment to the network’s long-term vision, some people express that belief by building or spending, others by holding through volatility.

I think you have a point. Believe is one of the great things can make you successful in everything you want to do, if you believe in bitcoin and you invested in it that as prove you are really a Bitcoiner and you can introduce anyone that is willing to invest. In my own opinion if anyone have invested in Bitcoin and started getting profits i will call the person a bitcoiner, when you have the knowledge and experience about bitcoin and investing in it and set your target plan you are fully a investors. knowledge is the key of everything that will give you profits in anything you are doing. So just invest in bitcoin and get your profit all this bitcoiner won't really bring profit to your investment. but if am a ask why did you want to know if someone is a bitcoiner, if you invest in something you believe on that is you are already addicted to it and can be your favourite.

Let's not deceive ourselves or confuse ourselves the main reason why people are investing in Bitcoin is because they want to make profit out of Bitcoin, Bitcoin is a very good investment all you have to do is to be patient and consistent in your accumulation no one is investing in Bitcoin for any other reason apart from profit making it is true that that there's some people investing in Bitcoin because they want full security and control of their money but majority of people that are investing in Bitcoin because of the profit they can get in Bitcoin.
Other thing I love about Bitcoin is the fact that it gives us the opportunity to control and secure our money by ourselves no government can control Bitcoin or bring out a policy in other to control Bitcoin when you have Bitcoin you have full control over it and can use it at any point in time without thinking about any government policy that may affect it, again the profit you can get from Bitcoin is another thing I love also about Bitcoin if you are consistent and patient you will gain from Bitcoin, bitcoin is a very good cryptocurrency and should be taking serious by individuals.

Op has expressed himself in a way that is best known to him and being path of the trend is what shows that you are a real Bitcoin holder. Majority of the whales that are buying and holding Bitcoin are doing that just to make profits from the market. They see Bitcoin as an investment that is why they are holding it not for the true nature but for profits.

People like Saylor are the ones that are true Bitcoiners because they advocate for Bitcoin not just holding it. They talk about it and how it can make us financially independent and that is what many care to understand and not focus on buying and following the movement to full the Bitcoin adoption in the world.

If you have been holding for years, then that makes you a total bitcoiner. Why? Because as you continue hodling, you also learn to acquire more knowledge about bitcoin, its flaws and advantages, its pump and dump, and most of all, its volatility that majority think that its a threat but in reality its what keeps people excited about bitcoin.

Being a bitcoiner is actually more than holding itself, but the fact that if you stay longer in the market, you also know a lot more about bitcoin, especially on how to manage its risk, and even use it as a currency somehow, then that makes you a bitcoiner then.

What do you mean? The definition of a Bitcoin miner, if you are mining a Bitcoin? Or a Bitcoin hodler, if you are investing on Bitcoin? Or a Bitcoin trader, if you trading using Bitcoin? And so on... That is also correct but saying Bitcoiner is only more on the general side. I agree with your sentiment right there, but for me, what makes a Bitcoiner is when they are regularly obtaining a Bitcoin, preferably by using a faucet or through mining it.

So, those who are only stacking Sats via faucets and withdraw and sell them as soon as the minimum limit is reached are Bitcoiners? Those who acquire Bitcoin in whatever ways but whose only goal is to sell it as soon as its price has increased enough are also Bitcoiners?

I've known individuals who know Bitcoin but don't know Satoshi, clueless about decentralization, haven't heard of blockchain, and so on. They only knew that it's something worth buying because it increases in price quite fast. Are they Bitcoiners, too?

It could also be a definition, but one which I don't share.

No big deal
Well, in my own understandings and terms, who ever owns or holds bitcoin In their wallet for whatever reason, (whether it be as an investment or not) is already a bitcoiner, there is absolutely no two ways about it, after all, bitcoin itself doesn't care who is a bitcoiner and who is not , it doesn't need any form of permission to rise or fall in price, so why is it even necessary or impotant for us to be talking or discussing about who is a bitcoiner and who is not, is there any form of payment or something special  that is about or going to be distributed to those certified as true bitcoiners?

So long as the answer to the questions above are simply "No", then I ask again, what is the essence of this discussion? What does being a bitcoiner and not being a bitcoiner change in bitcoin? Bitcoin is already very successful and very popular as well, it doesn't need any form of influencing anymore and everyone who holds bitcoin even for the future is a bitcoiner.

Being user or investor who is focused on gain and treats Bitcoin as stock to buy and hold is good but limited way to own Bitcoin. Real Bitcoiner, though, does not just view Bitcoin as way of making money. He or she views it as push for spread out financial system and is strong supporter of main purpose. This action includes tasks that make network better, such as running full node to help in checking transactions, using Bitcoin often to show it is helpful as real money, and helping with open source software. So it is true that you can make your own bank account little better by holding coin, but it is active taking part in movement that will make Bitcoin work well to all in future.

Did you see Satoshi using Bitcoin? There was a time when he was using but he has disappeared for years, we don't even know whether he is alive or not. We don't even know whether it's really he or she or a team. We don't know if Satoshi is alive today and still anonymously using Bitcoin but from the current situation, it's easier to say that satoshi doesn't use Bitcoin but it doesn't mean that this statement is 100% solid.

I'm not that guy. I have some Bitcoins saved in my wallet and when I want to buy something, I use those Bitcoins if the store accepts Bitcoin payments. Years ago, I often had some $ on the exchange and I was buying Bitcoins every time I wanted to purchase something via it.
I personally use Bitcoin as a currency and I also invest in it, especially today when the governments actively try to create Bitcoin Strategic reserves and empty our wallets.

What truly defines you as a Bitcoiner isnt holding, it's the doing. No big deal
I was expecting you to say we're ought to join the miners to solve complex mathematical problems before we can be regarded as "bitcoiners" or isn't that the definition of "doing" in your own term?I need nobody to call me a bitcoiner rather,I mustn't day-trade,mine or whatsoever,I'm pretty comfortable with the coin I'm holding in my wallet, what makes me think I'm a bitcoiner is the fact that I'm responsible with my holding and keep myself updated about the crypto industry and security measures on holding my coins till I get to my target.Even having knowledge about the bitcoin space makes you a bitcoiner, that my own definition.

I will say the real and main things you know about bitcoin thats what makes one to be bitcoine. it is possible to hodl bitcoin and trade but that does not still approve one to be bitcoiner.

your involvement in the space makes you a bitcoiner either you are trading or holding you are a bitcoiner so anything that is attaching you to bitcoin is what will give you that name and the name bitcoiner is not even important there people that are holding are holding and they are not acknowledging any form of title and they know the importance of privacy and if you notice people that are load about there investment majority of them are not holding shit, the once that are holding the lion share like the whales don't make noise about there holding or even worry about been called a bitcoiner the only thing they care about is there investment and the market.

When it comes to Bitcoin, I see a lot of people who only ever gain attention when the cryptocurrency is popular. I wonder who some of these people are.  One conclusion regarding Bitcoin is that it's a chance to profit, but only if you can seize it.

There is no benchmark or standard to be called a Bitcoiner. There might be different suggestions or views regarding this matter, but there is no consensus. Bitcoin is just a currency that is open to be used as the owner likes. I don't think anybody is holding Bitcoin for it to be a donation to the system. Some of these whales are hodling Bitcoin to keep their wealth secret which is not wrong.

Michael Saylor is a frontline Bitcoin advocate because he knows that he would make more money if Bitcoin become more popular. As more people become interested and buy, the price will go up and Strategy will make more money.
