Gambler or Player - which one are you?

Since childhood, I have been very involved in sports, I used to play football and cricket regularly every day and I used to watch those games when they were played. I still watch games regularly and I still play games regularly myself, that is why I have a good idea about sports or the rules of the game. This idea about sports helps me a lot in my betting. When there is a game between two teams, I can easily put any team ahead by considering the current performance of that team, the condition of the team, all these things, as a result of which the chances of my winning are more than losing in the sports betting that I do now. Maybe if I did not have a good idea about sports, I would never have done sports betting.

According to your definition, It's actually possible for someone to be a player and also a gamblers depending on the kind of game they are playing. If the person is betting on sports games, they can consider putting on their skill mood but while at the stage playing plinko, you don't show any skill because it won't work, the results is based on RNG. The possibility of someone considering their self a only a player is when you are betting on just skill based games like sports betting, but some persons can still choose to do both.

By the definition you give in this topic, I can be both gambler and player depending on which game I play.
I'm a gambler most of the time because I like to play casino games where there is no way for me to learn how to improve strategy or learning the odds.
While on the other side, I can be a player when I play sports betting or poker in some specific events because in these 2 games I can improve strategy to boost my odds.

I didn't know there was a distinction between both of them but from what you stated i think I'm more of both depending on what game I'm playing. There are times that I just decide to throw away some few pennies but the aim is to hope for luck and there are times that I play strategically, but whether you are a player or gambler its important that you stake reasonably so you dont end up losing too much money

In my own case, gambling is for profitable fun. My intention while gambling is not to throw away money because I want to be entertained. As a sports bettor, gambling requires basic skills that aid match analysis and predictions. I also constantly learn from mistakes and develop my skills. Maybe I can see myself as a hybrid of both a gambler and a player.

Depending on the game situation, the type of gambling, and the mood, it makes sense. Sometimes players will become gamblers if they experience something that triggers excessive gambling, and vice versa, where gamblers can become gamblers when they realize they've crossed the line.
But perhaps comparing these two options, there are more gamblers than players. Although it seems like there are more players, I think there are more gamblers, but if asked, they likely wouldn't say they are gamblers.

I don't know if the two are really different. I still consider them the same. 'Player' might be a more general term than 'gambler.' Regarding the technical skills that distinguish them, I think that factor is present in both. 
But if they are indeed different, for now I might be a gambler who has fun with gambling. I don't want to take gambling too seriously, because it might lead me to a different perspective.

A player on the other hand treats gambling like a skill game.

I'm a combination of the two; gamblers employ both; they play for fun and thrill, but eventually learn to study the odds and improve their strategy.

Gamblers are not just playing for fun; they know in the back of their heads that there's always an opportunity, so they have learned techniques to try to beat the house.

When you're doing something for a long time and it involves feeling and expectation, you eventually improve your game and set a goal. We are not robots; we learn, we avoid things, and we set goals, especially when they involve rewards.

Im actually going to lean towards Player. In fact, there is a stark difference between those who use strategy, control bet sizes &  dont chase losses vs those who play just for thrills.

if i talk about Gamblers they are often impulsive, thinking Im going to win this time, chasing losses &  betting bigger when confident.
now come to Players, they stick to a plan, understand randomness &   see it as part of a long game.

the main thing is,  if it seems for a moment that you are going into gamble for a rush mode,  then stop immediately , look at your stake &  reset the plan. The fact that you understand this, that means you are far ahead of others.

If you ask about the choice of Gambler or Player, both are not free from the risks that will occur, I personally of course choose and currently carry out activities at the casino as a Player, not without a definite reason, all of this can be accounted for.
The reason:
In my understanding of Gamblers, in general people are always driven by negative consequences, This means that every person who becomes a gambler cannot be separated from addiction, mental disorders and the most serious factor for a gambler is serious financial problems.
While they are in the Player option, they can always control the risks that might occur, they still choose players professionally and one more thing, every game they play must make money, meaning without negative consequences.
So, on that basis I always consider being an actor, not a bandit.

I might be both, a gambler because it's just for fun, but when I place sports bets, I try to be meticulous and also manage my bankroll without losing the enjoyment.
And it seems players can be both gamblers and players because there are times when players try to use strategies or, when they become more serious, they ultimately become players.

In my case, I prefer to be a Gambler because I always look at gambling as entertainment. Of course, this doesn't mean that I simply don't analyze the games I bet on so that I lose money on purpose. That's not it. I take every game I analyze very seriously. When I bet on a game, I don't set high expectations. I also believe that if I lose, it's okay. I bet with an amount of money I could afford to lose. I think this is the best way to deal with gambling. Now, for those people who consider themselves Player, I hope they are actually making a profit, because few people are actually making a profit from gambling.

I think I am more of a gambler when it comes to comparison to a player because whenever I bet I kinda consider the money I bey as lost before I bet.
That is the only way I think we can enjoy gambling and have the thrill while gambling.

Sometime I consider myself a player (most of the time as per your categorization) and sometime as a gambler. Gambling is a form of entertainment and playing skill based games are like work, you have to be serious and attentive. Being a player consumes a lot of energy and IMO it is very boring if you place a bet after reading 10 articles and listening to 50 podcasts and still lose hahaha.
Better to be a normal worker and enjoy gambling with a very small portion of your money.

I would call myself a gambler becaue i dont gamble to make profit, a lot of times i just gamble to entertain myself. This  means that I don't really bother about losing, its even easy to deal with losses because I stake what I can afford to lose and I dont gamble constantly. I feel like its actually better to gamble this way because you don't get to worry yourself about overanalysing, you can apply analysis to try and reduce the risks but at the end of the day you might end up losing. It comes with too much tension when you focus on playing for profit but there's nothing wrong if you gamble responsibly

Based on your definition of both Gambler and player then I would actually categorize myself as a gambler who is not addicted at least not yet. I play for fun, I don't aim to improve my strategy, bankroll or improve my skills.

So I will see myself as a gambler who is disciplined.  I play for fun without the idea of improving anything and I don't gamble regularly.

I see myself as a gambler because I play for the thrill even though I enjoy winning which I'm sure that everyone does but for me its easier to be in the right frame of mind when you gamble only for entertainment. Working hard to be skillful with gambling all for tht purpose of trying to be profitable is very exhausting. Everyone has their preference and also what works for them, personally I prefer to gamble for fun

Cricket? I don't know this game. The only game I ever played as a child was soccer. As a child, I dreamed of becoming a soccer player.
If you didn't dream of becoming a footballer as a child, I think all my peers dreamed of it.

IMO, what differentiate them is the reason to why they gamble. A gambler wants profit not just for fun, while a player wants to play those games for fun only. Whether he lose or win, it doesn't matter.
