I have seen many times when people try to demonstrate a luxurious lifestyle. They have expensive rented housing, they have expensive cars from the showroom that they buy on credit, they go to expensive gyms and to restaurants. But they are only one or two unhappy months without work or without income away from bankruptcy. So for me wealth and the attempt to look wealthy are two different things. Wealth means having capital that allows you to receive passive income from which you can live comfortably, and not worry that you might lose your job, or any of your other sources of income.

Sadly, we don't have much people like you and others on this thread that knows about these things. Confusing luxury for wealth is already a bad start like you mentioned. A luxurious car or clothes or any other item that doesn't yield profit or provide income, certainly has nothing to do with being wealthy, and that's why it is easy for people who are not financially stable to fake these things. A lot of people, probably due to the confusion in our society today, fail to spot the difference. And that's why, the majority of them aim to become rich, which they never become, because becoming rich which is literally having things in abundance is not a possibility for every single person, but unlike wealth that can be created with time and discipline.

There are no limits. Such is human nature, once you have a mountain of gold, you'll be obsessed with wanting another mountain of gold, and so on. On the one hand, this desire can be a motivation to keep moving forward and achieve more of what you desire, but on the other hand, it can also be a source of dissatisfaction and greed. It all depends on each individual perspective.

Look at the examples around you in everyday life, it is not surprising if you find people who are already rich still working hard to increase their wealth. All of this does not mean that they are not satisfied with what they already have, but rather it is human nature to always want to accumulate more wealth as long as they are able to continue to accumulate it.

I'm not rich, but I believe it ends, depending on your character. If you buy a nice house, have a nice car, retire your parents, go on nice holidays with your GF etc., I think it then comes down on how much power you want in your life. I think that most rich people who've covered all their basic needs, and their luxuries, and who keep grinding for more, do it because the only thing left to buy is more power.

I don't see 'getting rich' to just have more stuff. I just want to help the people I love the most, and only then myself.

Basically what you are saying is actually a common experience that everyone often pass through .and  if I may say even the richest man on Earth Elon Musk , is working hard to earn more money because the moment his desire to surpass himself stops for sure ,a more higher person with more potential will definitely surpass him, and that is where you will hear Elon Musk is no longer the richest man. So definitely that is just how it is. Everyone is working hard to be better than their yesterday because no amount of money on this Earth can satisfy a man except you are willing to let you of all the money you have earned. I think people like Elon Musk are no longer in the stage of making money to survive. He has a vision and ideals that can only be realized by having a lot of money. Sometimes, greed and the desire to continue making money are very different. I think greed is when you have money but you harm others and the environment. I once met a super-rich person in my city, and he said he loves business and investing because it allows him to help others. He has bought everything that makes his life comfortable, like cars and houses, and his sense of sufficiency makes him not want a mansion or sports car. He prefers to use his money to employ many people and he rejects mining or palm oil plantations because he believes they damage the environment.

To be fair, I never really cared about a life that required a lot of money, it just doesn't feel a lot to me, doesn't feel fulfilled. Unfortunately my wife isn't the same lol, she loves spending and a great consumer for the capitalism world, which causes trouble for me But me personally?

Right now, I am wearing a shirt that has rips on it, and not like those ripped jeans type of pre-done thing, I mean like this didn't had a hole on it, but overtime it got one and I never throw it away, I wear it all the same like it's normal, and not just at home, I wear it outside too, people think it's fashion, they just don't know that I do not really feel like there is a need to throw something away when I can still use it .

The difference between success and stagnation really does come down to character diligence and self discipline because even people with average intelligence or background can get far if they stay consistent and intentional with their time. Many people assume that once someone becomes successful they automatically turn greedy or corrupt but that’s not always true success can amplify whatever character traits a person already had if they were generous before they’ll likely be even more giving when they have resources if they were selfish it’ll show too.

Laziness on the other hand keeps people stuck not because they lack opportunity but because they don’t take consistent action every small effort compounds over time while inaction compounds regret. And your wish to remain generous when you’re successful is a great mindset it keeps you grounded success without humility or kindness loses its meaning but when you use it to help others it becomes something lasting and fulfilling.

But I do think that someone's success can strengthen their character and even change it from nothing to emerge, especially since we know that success is inseparable from money, and a person's true nature will be revealed when they are faced with money. I also think there are quite a few people who are successful and their personality changes, whether for the better or become more selfish, but being selfish is more common in officials. Haha lol.

There is a say "A human's desires will be satisfied only when they are buried in the ground." And we will not see this in any person who does not want to see themselves in a higher position than the one they are in now. This is a common feeling for many people, including me. I often discuss this with my friends, and they feel the same way. Shouldn't we have $120 we could save? It's both funny and disappointing, because why should we spend more when our income is higher? This is a mistake I made a few years ago, which led to me having no savings.

Think about it this way, when it was $100 there was no space for investment because all the time you receive it is always $20 you have as the balance but when it as become $200, those business and investment you have been planning will start taking it form, not that the person will not be using the previous $80 from before but the reason it will increase and add another $80 that makes up the $160 could be used for buying business products it can afford till it gradually became completed for the business opening, so actually this could be the reason for someone to increase there spending level in that manner.

No, that's not what I meant. If our income is $100 and we have expenses of $80 and we save or invest, or whatever, $20, why not invest or invest $120 when our income is $200? Because what should be increased is the investment, not the expenses.

If the $160 expense includes building a business or doing something good, I agree with that, but my point here is why consumer spending should actually increase. Well, sometimes it's our minds that drive us to waste.

It's normal for almost everyone to feel dissatisfied with their money. Many people who work or run a business eventually realize that they're almost always thinking about earning more money. It's as if they don't appreciate the benefits they've earned or don't even take the time to enjoy them wisely.

The more money you earn the more you crave more, and you feel unsatisfied. Therefore you must be able to spend a little today and be grateful that you still have an income. Learn to be content because God always provides for many people. There are many who don't have the same things you do. You must have the mindset that you brought nothing into this world, and you can't take anything out. So the way to eliminate desire as you mentioned is to be grateful. Because when you're not grateful for whatever you earn you'll feel like you don't have enough and want more.

No, there's no end to this. Remember human desires are insatiable and naturally, the more you earn the more you'll likely spend and crave for more. This does not always mean one is greedy, it's a nature of human. You can not completely do away with that thought of wanting more but of course you can control your desire by maintaining your class otherwise you may end up desperate and greedy. Some people find it hard to maintain their class according to what they earn. If you're earning $100 per month and you want to live the lifestyle of someone earning above you, there is no way you'll find contentment. There's more to solve when your pay rise but with proper budget planning, you'll be contented.

As long as the stomach is not full (a person still feels hungry after several hours of eating). Then there is no such thing as satisfaction in a person, whoever it is. Human needs and desires are always growing, pushing every individual to want to get more than they already have. Anyone will continue to increase their wealth even if they are ranked first as the richest person in the world. When you earn $100, you will feel that it is not enough when you see other people have $1000 and at that moment your desire will automatically arise to earn income like that person, that's the cycle, so on and so forth.

How can anyone be satisfied with their current wage if each new week prices of goods and services increase everywhere. Of course it's never going to be enough. You have to be constantly working more and more, while thinking on creative ways to raise your income in order to maintain your current life status.

Therefore, as you can see it's not even about greed. It's about just maintaining the current life quality. That is how broken the economy in a global level is right now. And it doesn't look like there is a solution for it, so it's up to each of us to do what we can do for ourselves, without expecting any fixes are going to come from third parties (especially governments).

Human want are insatiable according to economics, and this mean that no matter what we have, we can never be satisfied. We will always be looking for More and more. No one is satisfied, the more we get older by the days the more our desire and wants keep increasing and increasing. But the best way we can get satisfied is to be contented with what we have. But this attitude of satisfaction is not present in about 98% of people, everyone just wants to get, they don't want to stop at a certain level.
