Yes it all boils down to one thing, which is knowing when to stop and when to continue pushing on. There is no gambler that would ever prefer losing streak over winning streak. But there are people who have enough will power in order not to fall for the mistake of going for endless win streaks and end up with regrets, though, they are the minority, but they exist: they won't allow greed to take over their senses and can withdraw some of their money before the edge of the house inevitably kicks in and take all of it from them.

It is like the case of my friends who won 1.3million naira few months ago but still lost everything in the name of gambling with the same funds again and I am wondering what kind of decision making process is that but when someone wins repeatedly or bigly, it helps to build confidence in that person very fast and the gambler starts to feel skilled and lucky instead of seeing it as a luck and it is that feeling that pushes people to increase their stakes, it also make people want to play longer and chase the same high they already tasted because once you have experienced a big or consistent wins for a little time they think automatically that more will be coming easily again even when logically it is otherwise.

When there is no self control a lot of things become pretty unpredictable.  I would much rather win 10 times and lose once than lose 10 times and then even an eleventh.  It does not only demolish your moral for the day but in my experience losing makes me believe a win is coming soon way more than winning makes me believe it will be an unstoppable streak.  Which means I will be more tempted to keep betting when I have a loss streak than when I win consecutive bets.  The consecutive win always seems to end quicker.

I agree, I'd also choose to be a winner for the nth time than to be in distress losing for several times. That's why we have to be in control at all times, even if we're in a winning streak. We have to be calm and so we won't spend all that we've won. The same with losing, we know how it goes when we have no longer control to ourselves. Very true, thinking about it critically winning can actually lead to losses when you have no self control, it is a repeated cycle of constant losses..How does this happen? it starts when a gambler gets overly greedy when making profits then in the process of chasing more wins one loss comes in, it might just be a small amount but due to greed the gambler uses all his wins to chase that loss, lack ot self control
