Breaking Point in Gambling

At this point my only advice to him is to stop anything gambling when he is finally out of this depth because he is at his breaking point already. So what is your take on this issues?
Do you think he should continue gambling or he should stop?

It's actually a pity how someone would put all his time and energy all through the month hustling just to eventually pay debts he's owing not for a profitable business or project but due to  gambling addicts. Could it be that those that agrees to offer him this loans ain't aware that he's a gambling addict or they just choose to worsen his situation by agreeing to grant him loan every month so he can pay back from his salary? I think those that grants him loan should be stopped and he should be given all necessary support from friends and family to aid him out of his misery because he's not really doing all of that in his right mind.

some of this people that gave him are aware of his gambling habits but there main interests is on the profit they stand to make from the money they do lend him . Also since the man has been paying back they won't see it as problem to lend him money. This is really the worst state any gambler should found himself.

When someone is already in debt and they have no way of getting out, then they just give up and keep on trying with their luck to change their fate that is why they are adding more debt instead of paying it back. In those situations they lack motivation to stop gambling because they already gave up on their life so advicing him won't change anything, if possible try to talk them out for rehab or successt any possible ways to deal with their debts that might give them a hope to do it.

Basically, a person who gambles constantly by taking loans is addicted to gambling. Because he cannot get out of this gambling addiction, that is why he gambles constantly, so an addicted gambler is very dangerous. When a person becomes addicted to gambling, he does not realize that after taking loans constantly, his family becomes very poor at some point, so gambling by taking loans like this is not right at all. Because gambling is something that greatly damages people's lives, of course those who gamble for fun are right. But getting addicted to gambling while playing this fun game is very dangerous. So one should definitely refrain from this type of gambling addiction. Many times when a person becomes addicted to gambling, his family members understand very well how dangerous a member addicted to gambling can be for their family. There are also gamblers who have completely lost their family due to addiction, so one must survive this type of gambling addiction.

The fact that its already affecting him mentally, emotionally and physically, then no questions asked, leave gambling immediately. There is no reason to stay gambling when you are no longer yourself anymore. Gambling is fun until addiction enters, everything turns into something out of control and self-discipline. Naturally you would advise your colleague to stop gambling. A gambler who has faced a gambling breakdown should have quit gambling long ago. Without the need for advice from others that gambler should have given up the money losing activity.
Does that gambler think that he has become an experienced and will not lose? It is not possible that he will get jackpot overnight and pay off all his debts and he does not need to do the job he is doing. He is in a great confusion and he should quit gambling and focus on alternative income to prevent the breaking point.

Waiting to get advice from people even when he got to a breaking point is surprising to me because he is supposed to know his limits at that point...there are some situations that gambling can put a person in that the only reasonable solution would be to quit instead of thinking of ways to keep gambling controllably...like you said, focusing on other things to keep his mind from gambling is the best solution

Basically, gambling is fun when you first gamble for fun. But when you become addicted to gambling while gambling under the guise of fun, gambling addiction definitely has a big bad effect on your life. There are also people who are addicted to gambling who have suffered a lot financially because of gambling, so they do not understand what is right or wrong. A person with a gambling addiction loses money by gambling constantly, but he does not think twice about taking out a loan because of his gambling addiction. So he does not even understand how dangerous or harmful it is for him. So one should definitely refrain from this type of gambling addiction so that it will be very positive for his family and himself.

How can someone like that should continue in gambling, if he continues, he can't progress in life and it is the right time for him to just quit gambling before gambling quit him from the world. Tell him to stop now. Though his addiction is on the high side and it would be very difficult for him to leave gambling but he has to take drastic decision to leave gambling. There is no any other solution for him to leave gambling. If only he wants to do well in the society and in his family.

you can tell such a person to stop gambling from now till next year and they will be no change because it seems like they have lost all control over their actions.. the best thing you can do for such a person is to step in and see if you can find a way to curb the addiction issue..it can be by asking for them to give yoi access to their bank account in order to help mange what the funds are spent on

I have a colleague that is has been into dept for the past 6 months because of debts accrued due to gambling.  At the end of the month he pays debts from his little salary so he ends up owing colleagues to just manage by till the month ends . And he complains bitterly of how he has been paying this depth for over these months and how it has even mentally affected him which inturn is affecting his performance at work as well.

It's not advisable to gamble so irresponsibly that you lose yourself in the process.The signs are already there,you should be vigilant and conscious enough to recognize it.When gambling starts causing real damage to you financially, emotionally and mentally; it's the line where the control is lost.It becomes the dangerous point where hope dies, desperation swallows hope and emotional survival overwhelms clarity and focus.

I agree with you that your friend is at his breaking point because he's addicted if not, why will he be borrowing money to gamble and pile up debts for himself. I don't need to reach my breaking point before I call it a day. I gamble responsible with self control and discipline to avoid addiction. Though, I was once an addict.

some persons that participate in gambling most of them think that gambling is only source that can give them money without stress not knowing that gambling is one of the things that can ruined their life if not wear handled, if you know that you don't have the capital to participate in gambling you have to exercise patient until when you have the finance but some persons borrowed money to participate in gambling after which gambling will take the money they borrowed by then losing the money through gambling, so it is bad habit for someone to borrow money to gamble I will say it is lack of understanding and the lack of misuse of funds

Given his situation, the smartest move is to stop gambling entirely, because once it reaches the point of debt, stress, and declining performance at work, it’s no longer entertainment but a destructive cycle that will keep draining him until he chooses to break it sometimes stepping away is not just a choice, but the only path back to stability and peace of mind.

This should be the height of it all but unfortunately some people get into such precarious situations and still continue gambling until it eventually leads to them committing suicide. The problem about this is that when it starts getting to this point a lot of gamblers don't won up to their problem instead of doing that they choose to be in denial while the addiction keeps on getting worse

What's the reason to continue gambling? He will only repeat the process and fall into massive debt again, because the fact that he has been weak with gambling, he will resort to feel that way again when gambling addiction develops once more.

When there is already a previous limit that is indeed a benchmark for us then I don't think it's a problem for us to try to realize the limits that we have set before we have tried to stop and anticipate from the beginning where for that position is ideal for us.

The other option of not stopping can also be a very good thing but such conditions will still be a difficult thing because we are like forcing something that even though we have been determined from the beginning but we force the will just because we are too fixated on gambling.

I really want to know the logic that makes people make some decisions and thinks it's the right now. Why am I going to think of gambling and think the best thing to do is to risk losing money. May be they thought if I gamble and makes this money, they will be out of debt at once. I don't think if there is such thing as break points in gambling . Even those that has hit a huge amount of money are still gambling. So I do believe there is no amount of money that a gambler will win in gambling that will make them to quit gambling. Human want is insatiable and there is feeling of wanting to win more money despite the amount we have won.

I don't think if there is such thing as break points in gambling . Even those that has hit a huge amount of money are still gambling. So I do believe there is no amount of money that a gambler will win in gambling that will make them to quit gambling.

Actually, there are some gamblers that have stoped gambling immediately they won a huge amount of money. So not all lucky gamblers really continue gambling immediately they won their bets.

How will one still consider gambling in such a situation?
As you said it's his break point, he really has to stop before it inflicts more damage.
Gambling is not like any other business where there seem to be hope or of better results that will cancel all your years of looses
Even till tomorrow it's still gambling and a game of luck, so there is no hope of recovering your losses = you have to stop now

Im.sure it is easy to say now and here but in the real sense it will certainly not be thesame. There's an amount of money you will loose that you will have to advice your self to stop immediately without any external advice coming.
