Anyways to be clear, the swallow goes with it's own soup and the pepper soup is on its own as a separate dish. You are free to cook any swallow of your choice as well as soup of your choice...

It's nice to have the second edition of the Naija food contest for this year back on stage,.and most impressive for me is how Mia Chloe you have to make it a swallow soup/pepper soup making contest it would help us explore all the types of Naija swallows we have,  showcasing  strictly homemade indigenous dishes. As person from the South-South if I go participate for the contest Onunu, Afang and Fresh (Atabala) fish pepper soup fit come board.

I have never really tried it with swallow before so this may be a first.

I saw the thread for sharing the dishes, but wouldn't it been this narrow make it harder to have a pick
Since pepper soup varieties isn't really much.

I have been anticipating a contest like this one. This is the season when we cook all kinds of dishes in this festive season. It is good for us to showcase our local soup and swallow because it will be so interesting in the eyes of forum members. It is an interesting competition because there are so many kinds of swallow and soup that I haven't seen, and since this is a festive season, all that we will be seeing will be so delicious because people will definitely make the best this season.

Great idea OP I really love this one. I will hope we get to see more real indigenous Nigerian soup, like I mean not the regular Egusi soup, vegetable soup. I mean a deep rooted indigenous soup which root can be traced to a tribe or state in Nigeria.
I believe this contest will be able to show the diversity of Nigeria and the beauty of our local delicacy.

Mia Chloe, you don try to bring the second edition of the food contest and i like as you bring am early so that e go enable person to prepare well ahead of time and make something delicious and salivating when the eyes see it, lol. The first edition of this food contest wey i participate last year i came out fourth position so i will try my possible best to also make it among the top 5 by coming up with a good delicacy. Them no dey do too much preaching for evening church service sha so make i start to dey make plans. Well-done!!!

Well, Ambatman be like say you sef misunderstood the combo like I did earlier. If I’m not mistaken OP be like say you mean say make we make swallow and the soup wey dem go join the swallow and then make pepper soup again join.

Dem get other varieties of pepper soup oo, like fish and seafood pepper soup, chicken pepper soup, goat meat pepper soup, cow skin(kpomo) pepper soup, cow tail pepper soup and others.

It is another season of the year were the local board is always fun with so many celebrations and fulfillment and which i really appreciate the OP for making it possible to gather the great members of the local board and those that are not from this local board that find this contest interesting to join should do that, with topic of the thread the is starting from this Christmas 🎄🎁 till new year, that is very lovely and good idea that the OP have initiated,  and this is the season that those leaving in abroad always come to celebrate with their family and which those has not been participated in this local board should find time now to participate and make the festival 🥮🎎 period more interesting and lively to catch the fun because many different kinds of foods will be display in the other thread that is not meant for discussion.

It’s going to be fun for sure. I will want to have a taste of every entry into this contest but that isn’t going to be possible so I will rather feed my eye with the yummy Nigerian local soups.

Very funny, maybe I should call you pepper soup man on this regards. I think we will all enjoy this contest, firstly we all have a chance to show our culinary skills which is mainly continental based with the sweet touch of Nigerian dishes. The good thing is that we will be having varietyies of the dishes because our country is a multi ethnic one. Secondly, after all the cooking and time in the kitchen, we will still sit and enjoy the meal.

From wetin I read and understood OP mean say contestants go cook soup with better swallow and still come prepare pepper soup differently then snap am together with username and date before posting. E be like say people done already dy wait for something like this and I go really get to see plenty dishes for this December. Abeg make we try to list the ingredients along too oooo so that people wey go like to try the different dish wey them go see, fit from there learn how to cook am too.

There is nothing to be confused here mate it is written boldly that it is swallow plus any soup you can go back and read it again to clear your confusion, WOW it seems that there is always this kind of contest at the end of every year, it makes sense to me and I will gladly participate thanks to the op for bringing this update surely it is going to be an interesting moment in our local board.

Come on mate what are saying na, I doubt if this contest is only meant for those that knows how to make good soup, contest like this is for fun and every is only expected to do their best no matter how horrible it can be when we laugh over it here it means alot and you can't tell how many persons that can be better than so I will suggest you still participate because you don't have to consider yourself the worst in a contest like this that is meant to bring people together.

If I could recall properly, op said on the other edition that he will always endeavor to make out time to continue the contest every year. So I was excepting but I really don't know when he will be posting it that's all. But the most important thing right now is that he contest is here now. We just need to make sure to participate and then wait for the lucky winners.
Can't wait to get my hands busy while preparing some local dishes the best way I can.
