I don't think there are any significant differences in features between gambling websites and apps. Some of my friends also gamble online, some on websites and some on apps. I haven't noticed any distinct features; perhaps there are, but I'm not aware of them. And it's not just apps; the purpose of online gambling is certainly to make it easier for them to gamble wherever they want, a move that's keeping pace with developments.

Children nowadays often prefer to play on their phones, so it's best not to install gambling apps, especially if they're from the city and often borrow our phones. As for websites being more fast than casino apps, I'd disagree, a well programmed casino app will be faster and fluent than the website.

Considering over half of all gambling is done on mobile phones, I think waste of money is not correct wording at all. If you are a casino with a great app, like something that would actually be good to play and not slow or anything, you could get a ton of money from it. I think so too. An app not available in official app stores is already a red flag. Even with privacy tools, the risk remains, so I prefer to avoid those kinds of apps. Who knows if there isn't something behind it that could steal your data? I don't know, you can't trust just anything these days...
