So don't judge too quickly because it can be just a temporary failure in their job or business so needed something for survival.

What is an addiction in the first place? I have a feeling that many in this forum don't know what addiction means... we are all addicts, and usually we are addicted to more than one thing. And all those addictions are ok, but if you overdo it, you will have to face the consequences. You either have control, or something else has control over you.

Someone can be addicted if he is no longer gambling responsibly. When he gambles the whole amount of his salary and end up borrowing to others for survival, that is a clear indication that he's into real addiction. Well addiction rarely announces itself directly, it usually shows through patterns rather than just single actions. You can look for consistency over time, someone prioritizing just gambling over his responsibilities or social life, or financial stability, then showing mood swings when they can’t engage in it or making repeated attempts to stop and failing. If you start to notice these then you can be rest assured the person is addicted.

To identify Someone who is addicted to gambling is very simple, just check the person lifestyle, the person way of reasoning, how the person is gambling recklessly with the money he or she can't afford to loose, although there are other things to look out for but few to be mentioned.

Someone who is addicted to gambling can do anything Just to get money so that him or her can gamble, why because gambling is run the person blood. Those who are addicted to gambling see gambling as a source of income that's why you see them going extra mind just to get money to gamble.

No matter how racklessly a gambler is gambling they should not think of taking dept because they want to continue gambling in other to recover hack their losses. By gambling with loan money there is a higher chances that they will lose all the money that they have borrowed to gamble because all their hope is to recover to pay back the loan. Come to think of it, why will someone borrow a gambler money knowing fully well that no guarantee for repayment. Mostly the none collateral loans.

Kidding aside, you'll be in denial when you're already addicted.
Trust me, your worst enemy is yourself that even the signs are visible and obvious.

It is the first thing that I've noticed and that's the reason why it might help him.

Now, people who are addicted didn’t just get there all of a sudden, the road to addiction is actually a journey, the signs are always pretty vivid and transparent, and even before external people start seeing those signs, the victim must have already saw those signs in plain black and white and paid little to no attention to fix themselves, and then it can escalate to the point where others can start seeing it.

They have done it themselves and that's why they are addicted. I reckon that you've described it as a journey.

That's one, I have seen many gamblers around me who go deep in debt and now they can't pay and so they suddenly disappear. So it's not advisable to take a loan whether from someone or a institutions. But the thing is that there are a lot of lending apps nowadays and probably their target is those gamblers.

But for those who have been there and experience the worst, then it's better to really stay away from taking a loan because it will really have a negative effect on us in case that we can't pay it on time. So most likely a person who is in debt because of gambling is already an addict.

These could be some of the signs but, when gambling has gone to the online space, most of these signs are not visible and might be irrelevant to the subject. Else, we could have found more restrictions of gamblers by casinos on the bases of addition. so, how would we know…?

Well, it’s not in place to know, it’s not actually our problem as, cases of addictions are more of the individual gamblers issue than the rest of us. When you get to that point where you begin to entertain the idea that, you Gould have gotten addicted, you should seek help.

I don’t know if this is generalized to every addicted gambler, but but based on my observation, majority of those who are involve in gambling addiction are mostly those who observed the symptoms pretty early but still made the mistake of believing they’ve got everything under control, maybe because they feel that if they continue led, they’ll be able to effectively gain complete control of themselves and that those symptoms would disappear.

When there's big changes in a person's financial aspect, if he's already struggling to meet his needs when its not happening before, you can suspect that person is falling into gambling addiction.

Also, gambling addicts have no time to sleep anymore especially if they have a lot of funds to gamble, so you can tell that a person is gambling addicted with how stressful and exhausted his face is. They don't want to sleep anymore because they think they could miss their luck and opportunities to win from gambling.

Lastly, some gambling addicts have ended up mentally disorder, if you can check a mental hospital, you will know then.

I mean I dont think there was an actual need to identify it, and it's not that easy to identify if you dont really know someone personally or what they do, if you just see someone playing its gonna be difficult to see if they are a gambling addict or just playing for fun, but i guess there will be since of it if they are some kind of a hard bettor, going on reckless bet and probably continue on playing and you could observed that he or she is making the wrong decisions because they are playing base on there emotion or something, I guess you could somehow spot that.

If you are talking about the signs it is easy to spot, In my opinion, even the gambling addicts know their wrongdoings they are also aware that they are addicted to it, and they want to stop, but they just can't stop because they are already addicted to it, If your finding red flags, just take a look at your wallet if your losing big time on gambling then its not a good sign already your probably addicted already since your not managing your finances well and your just putting a huge amount on gambling which will not really going to earn you any money.

I think it is something difficult to know, people can have absent minded because of other reasons. However if someone often complains about gambling and often tells the story of running out of money because of gambling, this is easier to conclude that he is addicted.

The most affected phase of his life is the finances. When he's always in great trouble with money even if he's getting a high salary, that makes us think that he is deeply  attached into gambling, and that financial discipline is hardly practiced anymore.

The psychological state is next at risk. When you can no longer afford to live your own life, not because you have no job or low income, but because gambling addiction is making you sick, that affects your way of thinking, until you can't no longer determine what's right from wrong. In this stage, reaching out for support, emotionally and psychologically is the best solution.

So there are textbooks on psychiatry that have criteria (I would even give a link to one of the best textbooks, but it probably won't suit you because it's in Russian). After all, there are doctors. If you need to do a "self-diagnosis", this is one thing, but if you suspect addiction, for example, from a relative, this is another. If it is "self", then you can soberly assess the situation, and it is possible to stop negative manifestations at an early stage by simply stopping gambling for a certain period of time. If it's another person, then they should be seen by a doctor - this is the best option.
