Apart from reading the laptop’s technical specifications, how do you actually measure the laptop’s total power consumption? Do you use a multimeter? I have a "Tapo Smart Plug", but it's easier to check the current energy consumption (in W) on my grid energy meter, then pull the plug on the laptop and see the difference. That's the amount I'm actually paying for. Another rough estimate: check the remaining battery capacity (in Wh), mentioned by your OS, and see how many hours it lasts on battery. I think it's time to end this - very interesting - discussion on low power hardware in Meta Feel free to create a topic about it and mention me there to continue.[mod note: Mitchell agrees]

So the monthly cost for everything is around €9.50, more or less this should be the cost, I have not converted the cost of the domain into euros
I'm not any expert, but I think $10 is a good number! Even my electricity bill comes down to $25-40 (monthly), and my wifi costs around $8-10, so this is most likely a good deal. Now if you have a good enough desktop, you can reduce the cost of VPS by running your own VPS. Although, the setup would require non-stop internet, electricity and backup power in case of power outage and a bit of technicality, but it's definitely possible. I believe you have already experimented something similar with your mobile device. Am I correct? But again, you already have a good numbers on the cost, and running your own VPS might be a hassle! Anywway, you could always experiment, to quench your curiosity! That door is always open! I just love testing out new things you know. Unlocking the bootloader, flashing custom recovery, then CustomOS, rooting my device via Magisk or KernelSU, even installing Kali Linux one time (on a mobile device). I have tried all sorts of weird things. Yes, your idea is not bad, and it could be much more convenient for me, but it would increase my commitments enormously, and we only have one PC in the family, so I should buy one specifically for this purpose. I had a Raspberry Pi but it passed away this summer. There are many things to consider before turning a PC into a server. I think less than €10 is an acceptable amount to manage a website.

There are many software applications that can show you that, and for physical stuff you have universal extension for power socket that can show you how much power is drawn from any connected devices.
*Ace* I have one suggestion for you. Can you create additional symbol or letters to indicate what local boards are specific members active in? For example, let's take member joker_josue, we should see Portuguese flag and/or POR letters to show he is active in that board. If some member is active in multiple local boards than two flags and set of letters should be shown in userseript. This could be placed right from the score number, bellow number, or somewhere similar.

If a user writes in more than one local board it becomes difficult to understand exactly which is the main one, unless I make a minimum number of posts to be labeled as belonging to a specific board.

The old version of BRDb did just that: it checked whether 30% of the total posts were written on localboards. But then a problem arose. For example, if I write on the Italian board but then the majority of my posts are written on meta or other boards, this caused the percentage of posts written on the local message board to decrease. With the percentage you are then forced to continuously write on the board you belong to, otherwise you risk going below the established percentage. That's why I was thinking of a fixed minimum number which obviously also has its limits

You can just put one local board he had more activity for specific member. I know several members who are not speaking our language but they wrote in our local board using translator tools. Using flags and three letters would be like identifier, similar like we have for sport clubs and national teams.

Something just popped up in my head, what does BRDb stands for? And why is, 'b' at end is in lowercase in particular? Beg your pardon, if it's mentioned before in comments, I just checked OP and it hasn't. Who says vain curiosity isn't a thing? If a user writes in more than one local board it becomes difficult to understand exactly which is the main one, unless I make a minimum number of posts to be labeled as belonging to a specific board. IMHO it's unnecessary. The badge won't reflect the fact, since there is no verification to prove user is from country he posts in.

When I was looking at an user trying to determine his local board, I looked at all the post written on local boards. The one with most post, is actually his "nationality". Why you just don't look at the posts made on local boards only? I guess it's very difficult to be a constant writer on a "foreign" local board. I mean, If you want to be consistent in foreign local board, it can be done. May be do it like, 'user's most active local board' — and let people take that representation as they please but don't make it, 'factual' when it's not and when it can be gamed (though I don't see any reason to). By the way, fillippone, you are respected member of the forum, I don't expect this from you. You shouldn't be replying to this *Ace*'s comment separately which was already there when you made your above response.

You shouldn't be replying to this *Ace*'s comment separately which was already there when you made your above response. I'm replying here so I can reply to both of you The problem is not identifying where a user writes posts, the tool already does this and divides everything into board_ids The problem is how to determine the localboard for the user, which should not be interpreted as necessarily truthful but only indicative. As mentioned above, with the old BRDb I used the percentage of posts written as a variable, but this has a serious flaw. If a user finds himself in the borderline zone with the percentage, it may happen that the tool does not tag him with the board he belongs to.If I use a landline, a race condition may occur if, for example, a user has written more than xxx posts on different local boards. So which variable should I use? Or which formula should I use? That's my dilemma. Anyway, thanks libert19 for pointing out that I didn't specify in the Op what BRDb means

Determining the nationality of a user, I would consider only the posts written on local boards. Of those, the locla boards with more posts, gets elected as the one determining the nationality. As simple as that. The idea is that a user will always post more on his local board, be it very active or little active on local boards at all.

It should be noted that the only criterion the tool uses is to check how many posts a user has written on local boards. If the user has more than one local board, it uses the one with the most posts as a reference. (recommended by fillippone) Please note, this method may create race conditions, especially for new profiles. I attach a screenshot. I hope that's what you were asking for

I hope that's what you were asking for The algorithm for selecting local board isn't accurate yet, and will show many wrong info. For example, I don't have a local board yet, I post in the other language section. But right now, it says I belong to the Spanish section, which is clearly wrong info. For work purpose, for translation purpose, for many other reasons, I have posted in different local sections throughout my time here. Maybe Spanish was the major one. But anyway, I'm letting you know, you need to work on the logics more, find ways to correctly determine the right local for each users! Maybe you need to go manual, at least for the reputable users (those with high scores), would be a major hassle though. Or add in an option for the users to select their respective local board on their own? (hoping nobody abuses that!). Check my profile for example, and you'll understand what went wrong. Btw, from my end, the flags are not visible, I can only see their initials like, IT Italian, RO Romanian, RU Russian. Again, when did this happened?
