It has never been in Corinthians' nature to do good things with their finances. And I believe that this won't change now. It's in times of crisis and need that they always do these crazy things; just look at them bringing back other former idols like Tévez, Ronaldo, and Memphis himself. I think it's a marketing tactic they always try to escape their perpetual crisis.
Looks like Corinthians botched another hire, this time with the manager. They brought in Clarence Seedorf, a 'manager' who hasn't managed a club in seven years, haha. It's absolute insanity what these directors are doing. The club is winless in nine games and they go and sign a foreigner who hasn't coached anyone in almost a decade. Yeah, this has 'success' written all over it. It's unbelievable how completely reckless these executives are.
Yesterday I was with some friends, some of whom root for Corinthians too, and their sentiment is the same as most people’s: no one agrees with what Corinthians is doing
No one is excited about Seedorf and the high salary they’ll be paying him
And they’re also not happy with the managers and the high amounts paid to Memphis Depay
The level of amateurism with which they’re running Corinthians is downright absurd, it makes no sense at all to pay such high salaries to just a few players while the team is out of balance
The problem is not the coaches, and everytime they fired another one, there's resignation fines, and ends up spending more and more
Looking at the league standings,
Corinthians is the only team to have lost its last 5 games
