Is Gambling Gender Based?

Both sexes gamble. But men are more prone to risk, and there's a clear gender divide here. In virtually any activity that involves risk, men dominate. It's no surprise, then, that there are so few women among firefighters and military personnel. But when it comes to shopping, women dominate. It's also a kind of addiction, though less risk-based, still quite associated with losing money.
Although I see that the number of women in poker and billiards is gradually increasing.

Yes, it's clear that men have physical advantages in some aspects or activities compared to women, but let's be honest, there are sports and activities where women are still underestimated as if they couldn't be better than men when in reality they could be, and in other aspects like the ones you mention such as firefighters and police officers, in some countries women are given easier entrance exams than men, something that I find absurd, since as a police officer, she should face the same situations on the street as a man.

In my observations, men gamble more often than women.🙋

In my opinion, this is because men's biological purpose is to explore new phenomena and objects. This can be beneficial for the well-being of the human species. Women's biological purpose is to preserve all the good that already exists in the species. This is why men are more prone to risk than women.💁

Men enjoy gambling because it's a way to interact with primordial chaos. Men maintain order within themselves, but seek chaos outside themselves. Women, on the contrary, carry primordial chaos within themselves, but seek order outside themselves. That's how I explain it to myself. 🙂 And this is precisely why most women don't like gambling. Gambling is associated with too much primordial chaos. And women already have too much internal chaos.💃 Why do they need gambling?

It is interesting theory, and I partly agree, but on the other hand a lot of ladies in my country play scratchcards and state lottery, so they must have good internal order

In some parts of the world there are somethings are absurd for women to do. And they men dominates in those areas and activities, Even in businesses.  While in other places and countries both genders are involved in any work and activities as they see it as normal.
Looking at our society recently and it is very common to see men and boys who gamble all the time and every where. It seems it rare to see women all the time engage in gambling even though a few of them do.

 Are there some gambling games that are more engaged by men than women?
Are there others that are more engaged by women? Or
Is Gambling a gender based activity all over the world so the men are dominating  in it?

Actually gambling is not supposed to be gender base, but nature have sharpened it to be so, because women involvement in gambling is very low compared to men wherever you go, it has been like that and that is why people feels like that, we have more of men in gambling because they can bear and tolerate but prone to risk when involved in gambling and can be withstand the pressure that comes from gambling and they love to gamble for the fun in it.

Women tends to gamble slot games and can't withstand the stress from gambling thereby leaving them to be quickly addicted to gambling

Actually, he has gotten an very interesting theory which explain why the majority of gamblers are male and why the majority of women may not feel attracted to gambling at all. But my problem with his theory is how it tends to generalize with out taking some cases of women liking to play bingo in consideration. You know, there are complete bingo houses dedicated to women in their middle age who seek to socialize and try their luck.

Historically, there are some games of luck which are attractive and appeal to women but does not get the attention of men at all.

This also attributed upbringing of the two genders from their various family backgrounds. Recently research shows that the number of females found in drugs addiction is very high and if that is the case, time is coming that the number of gamblers from the female folks will increase as well. This made me to do some questioning around my area again and I discovered that women gamble but it is in a secret way and it is not like the way the Men counterparts do openly.

Gambling is not Gender based, risky all no risky the facts is that, if you can manage your risk very well as a gambler and that is by gambling responsibly with what you can afford then such person will not have any problem, so despite how risky we see gambling to be, all we need is to be cautious of how we gamble, gambling is not for everybody I agree but let's not misrepresent the facts, there male and female who are not supposed to gamble especially those that do not have safe control, those that can not keep to the rule who gambling without taking a break, many woman win in gambling more than men, personally I think gambling is for both gender.

Gambling is meant for anyone no matter your gender and not for children that have not reach the age of 18 years or 16 years in some countries. Everybody should have the right to gamble whether a woman or a man but not children.
I know their are some countries that ban gambling, I think their local laws should be respected for those people that are in such region for vacation purposes.

it's usually the high risk stuff like sports betting or poker where you see mostly guys
women if they gamble tend to lean towards things like slots or bingo but even then it's way less common
it's more about societal norms and risk appetite not some ancient internal wiring

I get you, gambling is not really about gender..  The reason we see more men involved is because men are pushed to take risks, while women are kidda discouraged from risky behaviour growing up..

Also, saying women cannot handle stress is not really correct..  A lot of women deal with serious pressure in everyday life..

And addiction does not pick gender either..  If someone dont have control or does not fully understand the risks, they can fall into gambling problems, man or woman..

actually gambling is for both genders but the thing is that when a woman is married and is under a man that woman is not supposed to be gambling as effectively it was when she have not gotten married because if she's using the same voltage that she was using to gamble when she was single and gamble now that is married it might cause a separation between her and her husband so that is why women is not supposed to engage fully in gambling because of their home responsibility
