Being called a gambler, compliment or insult?

Why should someone even be called a gambler when he has his own name he bears, there are things we should try to avoid doing because it doesn't sound well hearing that we are not ring disciplined even from how we talk, there's a need for moral discipline and we have to caution what we say and those we say call by name, except for pleasure purpose, when we are playing together with each other and for fun.

It actually depends on the context and the intention of the person who says the word "gambler". If someone calls me a gambler with negative words like "you are an irresponsible gambler", then I will feel offended, it is very inappropriate for him to judge me like that because every action I take does not harm him. But if he calls me a gambler with positive words or tone like "you dare to take risks even though you know gambling never promises victory, I admire your actions", then I will feel proud and take it as a compliment.
Although some people assume that gamblers are irresponsible or unwise individuals in managing their finances because it has a negative connotation, I have never cared about this assumption because none of my actions have ever harmed anyone else.

More on your own perspectives and how you handle your gambling participation, and just what we all said it's your money and it's on you to take charge with the risk that involve, gambling might be for entertainment or for other things around it's you and your own understanding and believe that will keep you, no matter what and how people see it there's no harm if you just mind your own things.

This becomes important when a person is a public figure, followed by many who try to imitate them, because what others say is very important But this doesn't mean it's bad. I don't care what they say whoever talks doesn't put food on my table, and the same applies to anyone who wants to mess with me If I want to do something , I do it and if it's at a casino , I do it too Besides, that doesn't hurt anyone.

Yes, there are those people who do say up such things as if its just like nothing personal or there's no intent behind those words and there are those people who are just that too sensitive or highly reacting into these words and treating it that it was that some sort of insult. We do know that on the moment that we do deal up with something like gambling then of course we can be called as gamblers and there's nothing wrong with that. There are just that those situations that the society does have that kind of generalization when it comes to gambling on where those people that been dealing with it are considered out to be an addicted person or even thinking that these people do have that deep debts and have that miserable lives on which this is that a very wrong mindset. There are just that those people who doesnt mind about on whatever other peoples sees them at the t ime that they do gamble. Actually there's no problem when you do gamble as long you do make yourself that responsible then there's no issue with this one.

In my country, getting called a gambler or a better is supposed to be an insult.
People call gamblers to those who is more of an addict and keeps losing money in gambling.
They see such people as bankrupts or rather losers who can't handle their wealth.

My own question is why will we give everyone that impression that we gamble. We live in our world where games can be booked online without anyone knowing about it, or are we meant to go about making publicity about our gambling behaviors?. A responsible gambler to me starts from making it hard for others to predict we gamble, which also mean managing our gambling activities and knowing when to take a break. If everyone should begin suspecting me as a gambler then i need to go back and check my gambling habit because it might mean I beginning to get more engrossed and it needs to be attended to immediately.

It depends on the context. Being called a gambler can be a compliment if it means you’re bold, willing to take risks and confident in uncertain situations.

I guess it can also be an insult if it suggests recklessness, poor judgment or irresponsibility with money or decisions. Most of the time people mean it negatively unless they’re clearly talking about calculated risks or success that came from taking chances.

In my country, getting called a gambler or a better is supposed to be an insult.
People call gamblers to those who is more of an addict and keeps losing money in gambling.
They see such people as bankrupts or rather losers who can't handle their wealth.

A person becomes a addict gambler when he loses control over himself. The initial goal of that person was not to become a gambler but he becomes a gambler due to the circumstances. In the context of some countries, gamblers are called those who gamble mostly to earn money. In my country, it is the case that many gamble but not everyone knows them as gamblers. Gamblers who gamble to earn money or are addicted to gambling are identified as gamblers by everyone.

Actually, in my point of view I think it depends on the situation and as well also the place, like where I am currently living here most of the people have a negative view on gambling so in this area i.e. region if a person call me or some others person a gambler most of the time they will try to imply any negative view on me. So from this place if anyone call me a gambler most of time I will not accept as a compliment because they are trying to insult me. But maybe on the others context if I live in that place where people were familiar with gambling as a normal things maybe on that context I will be much insulted  .

Let's say a compliments that's depending on the place i find myself, if it's in a public place or in the midst of someone special then, I would see it as insult, and it is obvious that they are doing it just so that people will look down on me or see me as someone who is not responsible.

Just like I said it all depends because some people are bent in spoiling other people's joy or happiness especially when they discovered that there's this person in your family that you are hiding your gambling habit from, once they discover that the person is around or maybe right beside you they will start bringing gambling related discussions just to pull your legs, since people sees gamblers as irresponsible people majority of the gamblers like keeping thier gambling habits as a top secret they can only share it with families but not outsiders.

It all depends on the situation and environmental conditions. In certain beliefs, gambling is prohibited. People in particular then feel sad when called gamblers. This is because it is very rare for someone to be called a gambler within certain belief communities. This condition can become a mental pressure and a burden on the mind. Other conditions are certainly different in countries that allow gambling. In such places, being called a gambler is a common thing. So, the term gambler has become a habit that does not disturb the mind.

I want to tell you that when someone actually call you a gambler it does no have any specific meaning. In fact it depend entirely on who is behind the word. Some people think of old stereotypes when they hear this word, they start thinking that you must be an irresponsible person who is in danger of losing everything. Naturally such a stigma is not something that anyone like. I would say it is a very natural thing, much like betting or taking risks. I never consider it a game of luck, but rather intelligent risk management and investment.

Honestly, it depends on the context and who is saying it, basically among friends who know me and understand what I do, I might take it lightly or even as a nod to being someone who takes calculated risk but if it comes from someone who is judging without understanding, it can feel negative like they are labeling me as reckless or irresponsible. I think a lot of it comes down to personal perception basically gambling is not inherently bad, but society often attaches a stigma to it, so whether it feels like a compliment or an insult really depends on how much they know about my approach and mindset and i really don't like explaining alot.

Unless the person is trolling me, a risk taker is call a gambler even if you are not gambling as long as you are taking risk, your friends can tell you on your face that you are a gambler and it's normal. If you are trading and you are doing futures with high leverage I can call you a gambler because literally that's what you are doing. You are risking small amount of money trying to make huge amounts of money which is isn't too ideal in the ways of money making.

A gambler can be anybody, there is no big deal in been call a gambler. Why should I even be angry when I'm call a gambler when I actually make money from it. There are people with gambling as a career, they don't use gambler as a recognition, they used football analyst but it's cool if that can bring food to your table and you are not the type that is very addicted to gambling. I will only be angry when call gambler if they use it to jab me for addiction but I know I'm not addicted.

People are seeing what is happening around you and if they noticed that you gamble too much and you don't always make profits, they might assume that you are a chronic gambler that would never stop gambling and as such, they might be forced to call you a gambler. There are people that would purposely call you a gambler when they want to make you feel bad and their idea making you to admit that you are a gambler. Not everybody that would be cool when they are called a gambler and I don't see anything wrong with that name if you are truly a gambler.

I love it when people refer to my investing as gambling. It doesn’t offend me as much as shows their ignorance. I’m always like… Investing might be gambling for you because you have no idea what you’re doing and randomly pick names based on feelings. I do research.

That is what you so why would you take as an insulted or another way round. Though some person's can be very sarcastic and tend to be sarcastic about it and even annoying.  In such cases you should know how to handle such people or even look for a way to answer them.so that it doesn't necessarily lead to anger or an an insulted as you have called it.

Even when we don't know someone's name does not give us the audacity of calling to same person a gambler, it does not benefit to an extent especially on the professional settings call someone by what they may not want to be identified with, except we already know that calling them by the name Gambler will not cause any trouble or displeasure from them and such could only be turned to closest friend or gambling acquaintances.

For me, it’s completely indifferent. I don’t really care about people’s opinions of me. That’s something I have absolutely no control over, so I just don’t care at all. I also think it comes with age. The more mature we become, the less we worry about what others think. So you can call me whatever you want. What really matters is who I truly am, and that’s enough for me.

I don’t seeing it anything of someone call me a gambler in as far as is not insult i for have problem with that and even though people insult me about the gambling I don’t really care will not even listen to what their saying about me talk less of face them. Because for example now where I’m earning money even though the winning is not guaranteed nobody will try to convince me about what I’m doing, and then adapt with he or she opinions which is wrong.
