The height of gambling addiction or something else?

For me it is a gambling addiction, we couldn't say that the patient is just bored from being hospitalized since, he is placing bet not playing for entertainment.
This just shows that he couldn't afford to miss placing bet no matter where and what situation he is in.

I know the extent to which we can show passion for gambling without being restricted no matter the condition we are into, this is just to show how fervent we are being committed to gambling or any other thing we are doing, but not in some situation that does not even warrant us to be found gambling, except we are in the best position to manage to do so with ease and not on any form of this comfort.

Who shot this picture deserves some awards, although this is social media era and alot of interpretations could be given to this image, but from what we can see, the man look stable and calm, which means he is responding to treatment.
But another silent question is, what kept him in that condition, betting could be the reason too, so despite being stable if he continues with such activities, he will slide back to his condition again when taken off oxygen.

I’m not sure betting kept him in that condition because if it actually did, people attending to him in that hospital will make sure he stays away from his phone for the main time. At the same time, it might be that he is even bored and decide to do some gambling if there are on going games just for fun and to feel relaxed.

I don't see any problems in a person on medical support to be betting meanwhile. To be on medical support can be quite boring, as you have nothing to do all day long. Maybe he is just trying to kill some time and to entertain himself meanwhile. He has just to be careful to not let emotions go wild, otherwise, it may be prejudicing for his medical treatment, especially regards his breath, since he is receiving oxygen.

This addiction no longer has control, he should be taken to a rehab after now for proper medication, if someone in this kind of situation can still be gambling, then there is nothing left in life for him.

How will he regain his health, what about the psychological effect of losing  his game on the sick bed or will he be winning all his game will it not affect his treatment, except gambling is on sick bed is the only solution to his recovery in the hospital, then you are right if not, he has to be taken to the rehabilitation center.

We first need to understand the exact state that the patient is before we can conclude that this is due to addiction. If his situation is kinda critical to the extent that even the doctors would advise him not to be in possession of his phone, then I’ll agree that this could actually be as a result of addiction. But if the patient is simply just bored and attempted to do what he usually just does to cheer himself up, then there’s actually no way to say for sure that this was as a result of addiction.

No, I don't see it that way, been seen on the hospital bed placing bets shows a sign of responsibility, this patient is trying harder to comply to the bills at hand and to safe himself off any embarrassment from the hospital Representatives.

No matter how addicted a gamble may be, it won't be allowed by the doctors to try such behavior on the bed, instead the permission may have been given to continue to do so.

Well if there are all signs of gambling addiction on a person, then whey we need to know the exact state of his mind? He could have been in relapse and so going back again could trigger something and then he falls again to addiction. That's why it is still very dangerous that once we thought that someone is out of danger of gambling addiction, then he will be ok. The families will have to monitor as well and make sure that everything is ok and not that there could be no alarms or triggers that will make him go back to gambling and who knows, fall again despite what he has undergone before.

Actually its not just that right for the nurse or any staff that would be that getting into someones business even if they are on an oxygen. What other things that they would be doing? not unless if there are some positions of your body or wants for you to have that total rest or what but if there are no such instructions or recommendations in regards on someones health then i dont see any issues with this. Its not right that they would be  that trying out to restrict him about playing gambling just because it doesnt look right? People are really just that wanting or do like to get involved into someones business. It isnt just that limited to gambling but also into those typical situations on which there are indeed people who do love to get dive in on someones activity or whatever that they are dealing on with, as long there's something that would be able to say then they would be doing it.

If you are a family member then you would be showing up some concern on which its normal but if you are trying out to bother someone specially on this state then it would be that somewhat shameful.

We are just giving our opinions as we all know that most of us are gamblers here and can relate to that story.

But if doctor finds him playing gambling, doctor may gives another diagnosis to him. Doctor may suggests him to visits psychology to have the right medication.

It could be worst for him if doctor finds him gambling instead of resting his body. And maybe recommend to seek a psychologist to check him with regards to his gambling addiction if he has. It's just that we're concern about his health first before he should be gambling in such conditions.

Looking at this young man here, I would say his health condition is not critical and that is the main reason  why he is gambling while on the sick bed. However, I sense out a sign of addiction because their is time for everything. As a responsible gambler, you don't gamble all the time even when you are strong enough, how much more someone on the sick bed. Whatever somebody is doing, their should be some level of control, and that is where the discipline is, and when once you don't have full control of what you are doing and you can do it even when it is not necessary, addiction is attached to it.

This is really funny terming it responsibility, have you thought of what will have to him if he end up losing. This will worsen his health. The worst time to gamble is when you are in need of money because you will end up putting all your hopes in gambling. The chances of making mistakes will be high because then you may not be seeing things the way they ought to be. our decision will greatly be influenced by our situation especially when we are seriously in need of money placing all our hope , that we are going to win the money through gambling.
