The gambling addiction intensifies when the person is gambling everywhere, at any time, in any situation or condition of his body and mind. Then gambling ceased to be business or pleasure, but was just a compulsive need that was very difficult to contain. Not even pain, danger or death can stop the man.

In this young man’s case, the fact that he continues to be online and betting with his life shows that he may have misplaced a few priorities. Gambling has become a need more urgent than personal safety. This isn’t a question of “happiness-seekers in distress,” but instead the brain becoming sensitized to the excitement of gambling as a means of avoiding or evading for consolation.

This is called extreme gambling addiction where all reason and self preservation is abandoned and person is driven to keep gambling.

Two things might the caused of been in life support and gamble...It maybe that the reason why is interested to gamble may not be as a result of gambling addiction

But trying his luck if he will win and clear his treatment bills, because lacks of financial support can lead a man to so many things, as i said before, maybe gambling might his source of hope to clear his debt from hospital...

But it's laughable that someone will gamble to the extent of been in sick bed for medical treatment...doing that seems like putting your life in more danger, because losing in gambling might caused "high blood pressure" [BP]

Op I believe this is not an image but a video. So i would like you to share link to the video if you have it in your possession. Because taking a screenshot on video and posting it here doesn't prove that this person on Life support is actually gambling. Maybe he might be going through his phone to check something else and not actually gambling as your claimed. But you can still clear the air by providing Link to the video for more clear view of what the dude on that image is actually doing.

But if the dude is actually gambling that is to say  he is deeply addicted to gambling and he can't do a day without gambling even on a life sport That is very bad. Note I am  not condemning the dude, just that the habit of not doing a day without gambling even on life support does not really sit well with me. Come on this dude is on life support for crying out loud, and what he should be thinking right now is how to recover and get the f*** out of this life support of a thing and not gambling.

This image does not represent anything except that the guy is spending his free time on gambling.  We do not know the gambling history of the patient.  We do not know how much he is betting nor how long he plays in a day.  It would be unfair to him if we label him a gambling addict because we caught a glimpse of him playing or betting while he is in the hospital.

We may have differences in interpreting the image, but I think this kind of scenario needs a deeper detail to level the person a gambling addict.

He might be a gambling addict by just basing on the image but you're right, that he might not really be into it.

First of all, the workers at the hospital are to be blamed for this because they know someone on life support needs a lot of rest but they still allowed him to hold his mobile phone which was supposed to be taken and kept safely for his own good. Well, anything that keeps him happy. some critical conditions requires a little bit of fun and relaxation to ease the condition.

You can't just conclude from this picture by blaming the workers.  If you work around a hospital environment, you will see it differently. There are patients that is even out of the doctor's control. An adult that can speak has every right to himself. So doing otherwise could still land you as a worker in another kind of problem.This is addiction; addiction makes one see above every other thing, but just their addiction. He is gambling in this situation because he's trying to fulfil his urge to gamble. That's why it's advisable you watch yourself even while gambling for fun, because some of these gamblers started with fun and entertainment but ended as addicts.

Looking at the photo, one can assume anything. He may or may not be on an online gambling site. For the sake of the discussion, lets say he is actually on an online gambling site. Just cause he's on the site doesn't necessarily mean he's a gaming addict. Looking at the photo, he's not exactly in a critical state as most people relying on oxygen to breathe are.
Also, I can somewhat understand how it must be for him. It can get excessively boring when you're admitted in a hospital as you lay on your bed all day long with little to no interaction from anyone. I wouldn't assume this is a case of gambling addiction just from looking at th photo alone.

There are some things that are hard to believe but have to be believed. If a person is truly on live support, then he is definitely seriously ill but looking at his condition, it seems that he has recovered from his illness, but he has not been able to come back from his old addiction. Even from the hospital, he is trying to make a profit from gambling. When someone bets in this condition, I think it is definitely his addiction. Because if there is no addiction, people will not do such things at least in a place like a hospital. If he was healthy, then he could definitely return home and there he could manage his gambling but that did not happen.

When you still insist to do something even if you're not in a favorable condition, that is not just looking for fun, but that's already deep addiction that you want to gamble no matter what you're going through or no matter where you currently at.

The guardian or watcher of this patient should not allow this, but even the patient alone, at his age, he's already responsible enough on what's wrong or right to do when you're admitted in a hospital.

It's simply the highest level of gambling addiction, such addicts will play games no matter what happens and if out of no where internet shuts down then such people will get badly stressed. We all know that gambling for long hours will lead to serious level of gambling addiction but we can't do anything as it's someone's own choice to either gamble for long hours or gamble with responsibility.

It could be both, addiction or simply doing what you like regardless of what you are doing and where you are or what condition you are in. There are a lot of people in the world who are always in their zone, doing what they like to do despite the situation or the condition of themselves, they don't care where they are or who they are with, they will be doing what they like to do, and this seems like a case like that to me, or I could be wrong, and the guy must be highly addicted to gambling that he can't let go of it even when he is not very well and getting treatment.

We could also think of one more scenario here. We know that a lot of people believe that gambling can make them money and they gamble specifically for that purpose. So, maybe, just maybe, he is thinking that he needs money for his treatment or anything and he thinks that he can make some money from gambling because for it he won't need to go anywhere or do anything since he can access the casino or the sportsbook right from where he is. This mindset is wrong, because you usually lose more when you gamble under pressure, but unfortunately, a lot of gamblers have this mindset.

Jesus Christ! This is the height of it, Common this is the very first time I'm seeing someone on a life support system and still gambling not minding his health status and I believe it might have been due to his gambling habits that has led him into such situations, it's very funny how someone under this condition would still be gambling it baffles me and if not for the pictorial evidence and someone told me I would believe it, look at such audacity.

If this picture I saw is true then the nurses taking care of him is not actually doing their job because how could they allow their patient who is on life support get access to his mobile phone and be gambling, that's very unethical from on the part of the nurses. It's only someone who's an addict that can still gamble under such conditions, it's really crazy and looks as if his life doesn't matter to him, I can only okay his actions if he is well and healthy but not with a life support.

Some people found gambling as a game but didn't realize that they're losing a lot of money to it. If they really want some quick dopamine, there are bunch of games out there that's free and at the same time, very thrilling. This level of addiction in gambling is very concerning, prioritizing it over your health is insane.

I think I agree with it, this is the final phase of addiction, like doing gambling than resting in critical situation. Imagine you're rolling and risking your money to it instead of spending your whole money for your medications. Idk what's on their head, it's a complete waste of money and time.

Gambling addiction can actually lead to something like this though , but can’t tell if this is actually addiction. But there are chances of it being an addiction, or someone trying to make use of a certain opportunity, especially this champion league period. But still gambling addiction can even make one do worse , and sometime make some crazy decisions like some starving themselves just to gamble .

I don’t know maybe it was addiction that made him to be in that condition which he is, maybe he was gambling and lost huge amount and from the tension that was how he got to the life support system which he is.

That’s just addiction, and why did people around him even allow the guy to gamble, with his condition they should have stopped him or maybe they don’t just value him because if they do, they would have stopped him from gambling. If you are in a life support, I don’t even know how you going to be thinking about gambling, you don’t have other things to think about.

Gambling addiction is no longer news. The rate is increasing daily and the media is not making it any less helpful. It’s everywhere on social media it is easy to see a gambling addict than a campaign against irresponsible gambling or a campaign informing people where they can get help. Well I guess it is because these types of campaigns are not funded or sponsored so people have to take out of their personal money to do it which is not sustainable. Whatever the case may be gambling addiction is still on the increase be a friend and talk to someone about responsible gambling and if you see someone struggling with gambling addiction but they refuse to admit, your best bet is to send them resources hoping that one day it will be useful to them.

Are we not being quick to judge? What if he is busy trying to gamble out profits to sort out his medical bills?  

All we got is a picture, nothing more, we can't prove if he is gambling consistently or not, even if he does that one time, it doesn't make him an addict.

Behaviors need to be rampant before considering it to be partly an addiction, he may be trying to pass out some time, not to focus on his situation, which may be the kind of entertainment he needed at the moment.

When you're in oxygen, then there's something wrong with your health, and your condition is either bad or worse, your doctor will advise you to just take a rest so you can recuperate.
Gambling will disrupt this rest, and your condition will get even worse because gambling is stressful. Yeah, I agree, this is the height of addiction, when you are taking for granted your health just to gamble, then something is wrong in how you gamble, and this is an emergency case.

I don't want to conclude my assumption, it could be because the guy is bored and don't want to be idel, like it's not easy to be on oxygen, it's like life is getting away from you and the only way to be out of it is to do things they love the most, in his own condition might be gambling and betting his favorite game and as well as killing time. This will help him not to think much about the that bothers him, imagine you are dying and you want to be happy not to think about it.

Last I fact check, been under oxygen is very costly, it's expensive and not for poor person and his condition now might even limit people from reaching out to him. There is nothing he can do now on that bet than to gamble and make some time to be happy. I'm trying to see if the guy is a chronic gambler but his condition is making me to think he is doing that because he want to do it for fun, even his guardians will not let him be useless while on sick bed.

That is a clear example of a person that sees gambling as a source of income because it is very possible that he has medical bills to and he is thinking he could be lucky in this to win something from gambling that he could use in paying medical bills. The people who often do not accept the reality that gambling is not a source of income are those that are looking for a way out of poverty, a move into the next financial level, not the people who are already financially comfortable. A financially comfortable person will not gamble in this sort of situation because they value their health, and are not ready to die and leave the little money they have made so far in their life.
