I usually don't gamble when I'm hanging out with my friends, we just chill, smoke and talk about random things. Sometimes, I notice my friend gambling while we're chatting or smoking. I'm a bit worried when he lose and then blame others because he weren't focused at gambling while we were talking.

Personally, it depends on my daily gambling budget, when my daily budget runs out I stop immediately and I don't do other tasks when I'm gambling. Multitasking is not my specialty, but if drinking coffee helps increase my focus, I'll do that before gambling.

Yup, I just make sure I'm focused when I gamble and I don't want to blame anything if I lose because I wasn't paying enough attention. Gambling already takes up some of my time, and I don't want to ruin that time by doing other things.

It also depends on what you're sharing your time with and the kind of game you are playing. There are games such as chess and card games that need your full attention and not divided attention. Even some games you will ordinarily say does not need your full attention, in some circumstances it will require your attention based on the money you are staking or how tight the competition is.

Gambling is an enjoyable process but it is can also become a disappointing process if you take it for granted as your money will suffer the outcome of your inactions, so it is better for you to pay more attention to the game than being distracted with things that will not have any financial implications on you.

If not for the fact that many gamblers want to become rich overnight in gambling it is just a way to have fun and entertainment so there's nothing wrong with those things because already gambling is nothing but a personal decision.

That you are gambling doesn't mean that you can't do all those stuffs you made mentioned, for your friends it is a clear indication that their gambling money is different from the money they are using to either drink or smoke, if drinking and smoking is part of what they do for fun there is nothing wrong doing it even while gambling, I guess you are thinking about gambling too to much, if you are not a smoker or someone who doesn't drinks then is fine but if you do those things there is nothing wrong doing them and at the same time gambling too.

Smoking should not be seen as doing other activities, it is part of the gambling vibes and many people will never gamble without getting high. If you smoke and drink while gambling, this is to take your mind and make you less emotional even when you are losing bets. It depends on their body usage of other things with yours, they are excited to smoke while doing things, everything makes sense to them when doing that, they could be more concentrated on gambling while smoking, if they aren't complaining about their focus while doing other things, then they are cool with it.

I like to pop in my earbuds and listen to music when playing poker, it helps me stay calm while waiting for the idiots to quit timebanking every single card and slowing the tourney way down. Really think they need a 5 second clock to make decisions so tourneys aren't so long and drawn out.

I agree, more smoking and drinking will lead to problems. They are problems as soon as they are started and also the reason why they are started but coupled with gambling they lead to a long term prescription of despair. The people who are gambling regularly will have some sort of side addictions as well. These two being the common ones.

Some people run music in the background, nothing bad and better than consuming something, even food, you end up taking it more in quantity and poor in quality when you are doing something else.
