But I also know my limits. The success rate is very low, so I have to be honest with myself if I really have a shot or not. If not, then maybe it’s better to just gamble for fun instead of spending too much time analyzing, since that might not really increase my chances anyway.

I can remember three brothers in my town who are into gambling since their school days and they are still in the slums today because they won no life changing money. I think to myself that if they get a job and depen on their salaries maybe their lives will be different?

Gambling is scary to me because of these life lessons from the hood, when something is based on probability it could destroy your life if you have nothing else going on in your life that's bringing in money.

Depending on gambling to survive doesn't sound appropriate since it's a game that is highly luck dependent but nevertheless there are people out there who still takes this risk and trust gambling enough to be a source of income for and to them. Just like you mate, it does beat my imagination how some people can accept to take such risk and will be so true to it that anytime you speak about it to them, they begin to sell you hopes and dreams of how they believe they one day will win a live changing amount and will have a better live than that which they do at the moment, they never think, what if this never happens? What then will be their fat, meanwhile they would have been gainfully employed if they had chosen to go get a job, that way they would find better direction and pattern to their living but they have so much faith in that which they are doing already.

Gambling is a risky game you dont know if you will ever win a game or not because at the end of the day house always the edge and only small portion of the player only wins the game so if you wanted to sustain this kind of living you have a good source of income already this game requires a time and money and if you just have time but you dont have a source of money you are just right there visiting the casino for nothing. Cant blame other people having a good time to get entertain by the casino but at the end of the day they are the one earning money from these kind of player instead of focusing on themselves how to make a step into their life they get focus on just on getting fun only.

Gambling doesn't work for most people and for whoever it works out you will see that they don't gamble emotionally and if they do they follow proper risk management. If you say that they depend on gambling for survival because they feel convinced, then we may be forced to ask the question, what was their conviction to choose gambling as a means of generating income, because as much as we can see, gambling has no positive results on their personal life since they are going to end up losing anyway.

There is nothing that can convince someone to choose gambling as a means of survival, since one can easily see the results of that choice in those who have become addicted and indebted via excessive gambling.

You would be surprised that if they had a job their gambling dependency would get even worse, there are people with good jobs that still gamble using all that they earn hoping that they would win big but they end up losing what they have. I mean there are a lot of people like that, depending everything on gambling thinking that they are going to get rich if they keep on playing something like that, I know a lot of people who keep on putting money a lot on lottery thinking that soon he is going to win the lottery at some point not realizing that he is burning a huge amount of money, I mean if you save everything of that money put it on a savings account that probably have 8% annual interest you will be suprise how big it is going to be with the compound interest like for example for 5 years or 10 years, Yes it is boring to wait but it is a much realistic approach or a a much safer bet.

Yep. I see gambling as an opportunity to win something big, without expecting to hit it every day.

I have some spare funds every month, I gamble with, and while most of the time I end up losing it pretty quickly, there are days when I run that into something significant and withdraw to buy something useful or just save the money.

But I'd never suggest that anyone dedicate their life to gambling because it's just not worth it. Take it as a fun activity and withdraw when you win big and exit once you lose the spare money.

There are many gamblers who depend solely on gambling for their livelihood. Most are somewhat wealthy families. They don't have any skills to earn money. They destroy their wealth to gamble. And hope that some day miracle will happen and they will win big amount of money. Most of the time they go bankrupt.

If those you say are from the rich still depend on gambling as their livelihood, surely they have other businesses as their main business to support their work in gambling.

I personally feel that gambling should always invest one's hard earned money. Gambling with parents' money or borrowed money is most foolish. As a result we lose interest in working and we become lazy. We must have a source of income, and still we can invest money in gambling to test our luck.

Don't be too over-the-top in allocating money for gambling, you should enjoy your hard work and invest it elsewhere,

But the thing is, a gambler can devote his life to probability theory and achieve nothing, wasting a lot of time that could have been used to achieve something great in another field. But the point is that we don't know where we can reach great heights, and it's necessary to take risks and try different things. If I were younger, I probably would have tried to take more risks, but today I no longer want to try various tests of probability theory, especially studying it. I'd rather devote myself to other things.
