Mastercoin dropped the ball. It was never a v popular coin, it relied on new tech to derive it's value.

What new tech is coming?

Have you try find from counterparty thread if someone is interested doing this? Counterparty have make already everything and more what mastercoin never have promise to do and they have make also (long time ago) most what mastercoin still talking?

That is big secret, they don't tell secrets like that to community, they wait first buy all own coins with low price. This is way how they can have another millions money to waste in 2015 and make second round of devs rich after first devs have move to pension.

Now, they can control the spin-factor at their own blog, claiming all the wonderful things that will fall from the sky if only people will just "hang in there" for a bit longer, making sure that JR can live in comfort while spinning his wheels.

Perhaps. But Sidechains are something different. They don't have to be publicly audit able by anyone outside of the network, unlike mastercoin, they are only (if I understand right) secured using bitcoin, but the chain themselves can be elsewhere. That's a pretty big difference to what mastercoin is doing, which is universally available to anyone looking at the blockchain.

Additionally- I think you can still expect a price bounce in the future when bitcoin 2.0 projects really start to come online. Counterparty is winning at the moment with Overstock, but who's to say someone won't want to build a competitive platform and go with Mastercoin? For example. Not to mention there have been a few media mentions in the past couple week of Mastercoin- for example RealCoin is rebranding as Tether and they are using mastercoin. That project could be even only a moderate success and will give a big boost to Mastercoin.

So while I am highly critical of mastercoin at the moment, they still have a chance to turn the boat around. Chance being the operative word of course.

Counterparty answer for sidechains is interested when thinking how fast mastercoin project have so far go forward. Can anyone even believe mastercoin team is that who solve sidechains problem.

I have learned alot over the past year with Mastercoin. JR your idea was brilliant. Despite the non-stop criticism your idea really was embraced by the Bitcoin community. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery after all.

I learned the importance of what happens when a whale controls too much of that monetary token. I learned what happens to a project when the inspirational leader doesn't have the time or skills to move the project forward and relies on others. I learned what happens to a project when it has a bad name. I learned what happens to a project when it shuts out it's community voices. I learned what happens to a project when there are too many cooks in the kitchen. But mostly I think I learned what happens when one fails to realize some profit when you are up, you get a bag when you're are down.

I don't want to harp on the bad things that have happened over the last year. I want to be happy that you made your money last jan when you finally decided to come on board full time and dumped large portions of shares at once causing the price to crash. I'm sure you have finally diversified out of your extremely large position. Cause why would investment money want to come back with your wife holding an insanely large amount of tokens?

I am extremely happy that the name is changing from MASTER to..... anything else. The word Master reminds me of, I don't know, slavery. Omni sounds real slick btw.

Bravo to whoever turned Robby and his development ideas down last December. Without that decision Counterparty might not be breaking new ground. I'd point to my analysis of who is the mysterious Counterparty developers on the original forum (Hint: I was right) but that forum and all the posts got destroyed. So of course lock this thread as well, who needs public support, even if it is constructive criticism.

Truly I am glad that yall finally, finally got some consensus on the protocol. Not sure why that cost about a mil but hey its only funny money right?


If there is anyone out there still reading these public comments then I hope you realize what a gem AT could possible be for MasterOmniProtocol. Just imagine if this thread had been locked a few weeks earlier, were would CIYAM post?
