I was a victim of a martingale, that so-called doubling up, will regain what you've lost. I even bragged about it until I found out, through my own experience, that it wouldn't work and would make you lose more, even if you had a huge bankroll.
The first win is good if you are aware of these traps; if you're not, you'll have false confidence you will regret later.

I guess all of us who discovered this strategy that we thought of in the first place to be a good one would made us realize that it's not going to work for everybody. The doubling up looks good until it goes to the point that we have to lose so big and will doubt if we'll recover it. And for the beginners, there's the beginner's luck that they're believing will happen to them. It's a true myth IMHO because when a beginner wins, that's when they become more confident and would like to test more of their luck if that's going to work for them still after winning a of couple bets.

What I think is that Early wins help to build a trust system, and this trust is either positive or negative. When there is a huge win it create positive mindset of not letting go quickly. But where the negative mindset start is when you lose too much as a beginner. It makes you think the next bet will recover your

Gambling is indeed similar. People who think they can get rich from gambling, they can't shake that idea off from their heads somehow. If they won a few rounds, it becomes even worse for them. Whenever they lose a bet, they think it is temporary.

One way that could take is, when you try to get rich so much through gambling and it doesn’t work, you can reinvent your motives towards the industry and you would be fine.

However, when you make big wins, it indeed pins on you the idea that you can win often and gambling can be profitable but, it’s never enough to trap you. Yeah, i agree with you even i will use my very self as example to that the very first time i won a little big amount, after the win i took gambling so serious thinking i could make more money of gambling. Then i was taking some bad risk staking with big amount because the money was there, before i could realised myself the money which i won was taking back. This experience made me to know that gambling isn't what someone should hope on, the main thing there's when someone win money is gonna be fun but when you lose its turned to disappointment, at times i do reason how some called gambling as having fun.

You have learnt your lesson the hard way, and you are seeing gambling for what it is now, so you won't want to make such a mistake again in time to come. The winning was not really the problem, but you saw yourself as if you knew it all and had a good strategy, and your greed convinced you to be staking high so that the winning would also be high, but the result was always quite the opposite. For me, even though I'm yet to get the big win I seek, I think it would be a completely different path. I have a plan for when I make a big win like that and that's to put that big win into a safe low risk investment vehicle and if I still want to continue gambling, instead of giving back my big win in parts, I would likely gamble along with the interests earned from the big win figure. It's easy to get greedy after a win like that and try to double it or increase it further but personally, this is the plan I would take. I have been taking lessons on discipline lately and it would help shape my future decisions.

It is good you already have a plan, with that alone, it puts you ahead of a lot of gamblers out there.

Its like I heard this analogy over times already. But in all of those discussion, Id say you are right. First big win ending up a trap for most since they wanna win again and do it over and over again, until that first win becomes a loss now and instead of increasing those wins they are accumulating losses which they don't wanna admit cause of addiction.

Definitely, that is what it does because it makes you feels that you can keep on winning bigger forgetting that it is only by luck that you will win which does not happen often,  the trap most times leads to one chasing his wins and ends up become an addict, it also gives you that impression that winning is always easier.

I will say the early win is more like a beginners luck in gambling. If you fall for the early win, you’re most likely going to have that mentality and every time you feel like stopping, the thought of the early win keeps ringing in your mind that when you try again, you can win it this time around. The prolonged indecision of stopping then turns into a long term loss for the gambler. No matter how you try or wanna play smartly at the market, the odds are against you. Better to risk what you can afford to lose and stop chasing after your losses.

The first win in life can trap a person or it can not trap him because a person who takes gambling as entertainment and participates will always use it as entertainment, he will never expect a big win, he will not have such a big greed in his mind. When I started gambling, I won the first time but my main intention was not to make money but to participate in gambling as entertainment, which is why I have been using gambling as entertainment until now.

It is both, from personal experience we know that it helps us to be courageous to gamble more and that sets our confidence when our first tries wins. But as we proceed and continue, we understand that gambling isn't like this at all times. There will be good times but more with bad times and if you're already decided to gamble and that win you've been leaning on and creates the reason why you continue, there's a need to reflect on that when you've been losing so much money. The possibility that someone on our back trying to say that it's part of gambling is true but, these little or small talks that pushes us to gamble gives us the credit to take more risk even if we're already drowning from so much losses.

The same could be said about consistent winnings on short run when the gambler is a beginner. It's not necessary to win a big prize, but if you keep winning consecutively for several days or weeks, the feeling of being invencible is the same as when hitting a jackpot. It's dangerous on the same intensity, because it feels like nothing can prevent the gambler from overcoming loss streaks.

On that moment of the gambler's journey, gambling looks a real money making method for every daily needs. Do you need some bucks to pay for a meal? Then place few small bets and you have money to pay for that. Do you need to pay a bill? Then gambling is the answer.

If you check correctly I think similar thread has been discussed countless times, but I think it's still necessary for us even though some gamblers normally forget about it I think it will definitely help gamblers that are ready to accept any outcome without thinking of beating the game.

Honestly, this is a very high trap that the casino normally set for gamblers so we shouldn't take it personal as if we can be on the same winning streak because it doesn't always last longer time we should be able to control ourselves and know that gambling depends on luck.

So i feel like you might know a bit about it too or u have some connection as well . Jokes apart i really liked your observation.  And just to be clear i am not really into it anymore . I want to share something in my mind and i think many people will relate to it. So many peoples think losing is what traps gamblers. But i think sometimes it is the opposite.

It is the first big win.

Let me Explain . When someone wins big early it creates a strong belief in their mind. They start thinking i can do this again because it feels easy and  real. That moment stays with them. And after that every time they play they are not just playing the game  they are chasing that first feeling again and again . Even when they lose they does not see it as a warning. They see it as I just need one more good run.

People do often get sucked in because of the high they get from their first go on something. It might not just be winning, but a combination of factors like being out with friends, maybe drinking, creating great memories, these things all combine to train your mind into wanting the experience again. You associate casino gaming with all those other things, even if the next time you don't actually have your friends or all the other fun parts. Once you have formed a habit, going back to it 4-5 it becomes increasingly difficult to break and as you pour money into it the emotional bond gets even stronger. It depends on mindset, there are people that can't be trapped by early win because they already understand the nature of gambling. However, it is not everyone that have self control when it comes to gambling and also they don't see gambling as a game of luck but rather they believe there winning is based on there skills or experience. There are people that also believe that they will always get lucky to win this people can easily be trapped by first win with the believe that they will always be lucky at all times.
