Who in the world thought it would be good for 'community' to devise a bizarre draconian process for deciding who gets 'let in' and who gets 'rejected'. This causes a lot of discontent and drives many people away from the coin. It is weird. I understand the people who are very upset and may be acting out in this thread. I am not part of this, as I am a new member and would never qualify, but I still feel compelled to get involved. You guys should be ashamed of yourselfs. This is not what a good 'community' looks like.
No matter what selection process you use, there will always be angry people There is a new copycat of comm, who is doing some giveaway based on your facebook usage, seriously how fair is that ? (It isn't fair because I can't get in... I could start some drama or feud... but the good thing is I just don't care, I can't get in well too bad but there are other coins. ) Other example, solo mining mining against kgw, most of the time I just don't get anything... this is so unfair... There are always a "good" reason to get mad at something. they should just ask you for a screen of your name + wallet, should be enough for anti-cheating

Hello
Is it still possible to be part of this community without buying in?
Yes of course...everyone welcome, but if you want coin, you will need to buy on exchanges.. Get involved, contribute something: there will be other forms of giveaway in future as well.

I believe the main purpose of PoS is to use the open wallets to maintain the network. With minting possible from paperwallets, there would be a risk that the network could die. I would not myself support that, unless someone can show me what the benefit would be.
There are proposals to solve this problem. In the Peercoin (PPC) community we have discussed some, but none has been implemented so far. The trick would be that you have two wallets, a hot wallet and a cold wallet, and that you prove cryptographically the ownership of both of them so you can mint with the coin-age of both wallets combined when only one of them is online. That means: You can only mint with the coin-age of the "cold wallet" when you have the "hot wallet" open. But there is no need that he "hot wallet" would have any coins in it. So the incentive to let the client open and mint is not affected, but the private keys of the wallet containing most of the coins can be held offline. wouldn't be there a risk to have non existing coin minting (or coin which have been removed from the cold storage to some other place continuing minting ) ? or hack like that ? If it's well implemented, no. As data for both wallets are stored in the blockchain, the PoS algorithm can check at any time that the coins are there. If you move coins from the cold wallet, you will set coin-age also for the "minting" wallet to zero again. There is another proposal that the coins are virtually "transferred" from cold to hot wallet, you can search it at this forum by the name "cold-locked transaction". So they form part of the balance of hot wallet but can be moved only with the consent of the "cold-wallet" owner. It would not be a "quick fix", that's true. But it would be a real game-changer, because it makes true cold-storage possible. Imagine you have COMM worth 100.000 USD in your wallet. If not in cold storage, they would be at risk. The "mintonly" unlock, for example, can be tricked with a keylogger. With a "cold-locked minting" solution you can contribute with such large wallets to the security of the coin using PoS.

@adriano i pmed you again.
it was not working if sync from scratch you need to put a check if the block height is above 28700 (last activity on that wallet was 286xx) then do his check so to avoid crashes because of the valid transactions of that wallet that wallet sent a lot distributions, so has many valid transactions before.
The code I proposed will probably need to be moved to CTxMemPool::accept which is responsible only for new transactions being accepted into the mempool, not the ones already in blocks... I can do it later tonight if nobody do it before me, during the day I can't focus on this as I have a full-time job. Time to someone step in :-) And since some haters are talking too much in the forum, I decided to state the following disclaimer: Disclaimer: I am not COMM's developer neither have I idealized it... My work here is completly volunteer work and only because I think COMM have a lot to add to the community, despite the haters.Keep up the good work and forget all the haters and trolls!

well, there are 283 username in the list so, there will be 217 more stakeholders for second round dont panic guys
To be honest, I have a bit panic as I am not on the list. That's not true that 217stakes left for second round as many of us (1st round stakeholders) will loss the right to gain 2nd distribution, maybe due to some reason. Those stakes will be put in the bounties pool, from the dev's post, with my understanding. I hope the dev may spend a bit more time on review the 1st round stakeholders who are rejected in the 2nd round. It seems I'm also not on the 2nd round list. I'm keeping voting always. The fact makes me sad. But be patient plz. It's only a raw list. The dev may update and more people will be in. Its sad to see some inactive members in it I am starting to wonder about this coin. I am not on the list and I have been very active. Don't give up! keep Voting!!! GOGOGO! my girl~ keep voting!!! 19392~19397

Our voting focus is the best. Imagine we have almost won against other far older coins which have tried to be added for weeks or months now.
We are around 470 original people and some other supporters who bought.
If each of the 470 votes every hour today we could have have 28200 votes in 12 hours.
Lets beat that target and show some real community spirit.
For ME ...IT is much more fun to watch COMM in mintpal Voting System ...Actually it is better than to watch an Oscar movie. Keep Voting ...let the spirit move even faster COMM

Hello, Community!
I tried to get at least 1 share, but I could not get a single coin. If the developer would give me at least 1 share, I donate 250k to Community projects!
I ask those who received 2 shares, share with me. I promise to actively participate in all actions of the Community!
My wallet is in my signature. Thanks in advance!
P.S. I am not a cheater, so I do not know reasons for my disqualification...

I'm sorry that you didn't receive the stake but if you just read the first page you'll know because you are disqualified. Better if you use to do it before to ask coins Anyway, welcome into the community

Someone sent me 10K of COMM yesterday for my dice site, thanks so much ! I think that was me. You're welcome. Thanks ! By the way, I don't think it's fair that some people get the 1M COMM twice... No distribution is perfect.

That's interesting. Is there more information about this? Then the code would have "only" been ported from NXT to the COMM/PPC codebase. Well, devs, if you are interested in my proposal ( see here), I have created a new wallet for the "bounty account" (see my signature). Will not move the coins for other things than development bounties, as I said. I also would fund porting of coin control (if not already done).

It is not so easy to transfer code to other coins I think
