The opening whistle of the Turkish Süper Lig season will blow today—after an 88-day break, the 2026-2027 season kicks off.
Galatasaray will face off against Çorum FK.

With right-sided center-back Sanchez not yet match-fit, Lemina will step in to play in that defensive position for Galatasaray.
Lemina is a versatile player; his skillset allows him to play comfortably in various roles.
We will see today just how much the Çorum forwards manage to challenge him.

I haven't watched the Çorum team play before, but I know they are a newly formed squad. They made quite a few signings after being promoted from the lower league last year.

As for the match itself, I expect Galatasaray to win. I know that Çorum FK’s goalkeeper, Felipe, is a talented player, and I am curious to see how he performs.

If you ask what will be the main talking point after the match...

All qualities that a top team looks for. Vlahovic doesn't have a dribbler, he's not a fast player and he also has many deficiencies in front of goal. I've seen some news like this about Osimhen.

Thankfully we aren't interested in selling him right now. Man, we can't even make transfers this summer. There is only one loan signing and that's it! I'm so mad at Galatasaray for that.

I believe that Vlahovic, out of pride, did not stay at Juve because he had made a request that the club did not accept, because his value was viewed as low by the club. Since the performances of the last two years were questionable, they chose not to focus on such excessive spending as he requested, which in my opinion the club did well, and therefore, in order not to lower his salary, he chose to go and play in Türkiye.

Our league is much easier for Vlahovic so I think he has a good potential for being top scorer of the league this season. He can just score in every way considering he is 1,90 m tall also.    He can do better than Oh about finishing.

Galatasaray seems to be struggling this season. Many high-quality players have transferred to Turkish teams this year, which is a really good thing for our league. However, it's surprising that Galatasaray hasn't made any significant transfers so far.
They seem likely to struggle to meet expectations; perhaps they don't want to spend money this season because they've been champions for so many years. But if Osimhen also leaves, Galatasaray could face serious problems finishing in the top three this season

If manger and coache of a team has put heads together in analyzing that the strength of Galatasaray players are good to go come these seasons, i don't think if there will need of making a transfer when the team looks good with their tactics of playing, so therefore, i will say that Galatasaray players has been playing well in the past seasons and i don't see the reason of not making any significant transfers can really effect the club because any clubs that fail to plan these coming season that all the clubs don't want to take shit from their opponents, will surely suffer it these seasons, so my instinct is telling that Galatasaray has a plan and a reason of not making any move to do transfer.

Vlahovic is really a great transfer.
in my opinion, this is the biggest move Besiktas has made this season. barring any injuries or bad luck, i think a healthy Vlahovic will score at least 20 league goals.

So, for Vlahovic, having gone to a minor league, if he has a team that can play enough for him, he could also do well. Although i am quite convinced that this will not be the case. But never say never. Let's give him the opportunity to see how he will find himself in that championship and i hope he can still score many goals and be able to return to playing in more important championships.

Now i don't know if it could depend on the fact that the Napoli players go to Turkey, but Fenerbahçe have certainly strengthened a lot, with signings like Asensio, Aké in defense, now the arrival of Lukaku. So it is a team that can certainly do very well and can keep its breath down the neck of Galatasaray who i still currently consider the team to beat in Türkiye.

He played in the world cup where he played solid but still i think he needs a lot more time to be used to the team and to the field. I think he is now even fat that he has a few kilos too much and he needs to get that down so he could perform well.

Vlahovic was a good option but i guess he was too expensive and now Besiktas has him and they really paid too much for him,lets see if it will pay of for Besiktas.

But in fact Fenerbahce's game was a bit of a gamble, because betting on a player who has played so little, who has had several injuries in recent periods, is really a risk that is perhaps excessive. That's an interesting stat. I looked at the other players who came here from Napoli. When Goran Pandev arrived in the 2014/15 season, Galatasaray won the championship. Pandev didn't contribute that much though. Burak and Sneijder carried that team.

In the 2022/23 season, Dries Mertens came to Galatasaray from Napoli and Galatasaray won the championship again.

There's also Gökhan İnler. Although Gökhan İnler didn't come directly from Napoli, he arrived in Turkish Super League after becoming known as a Napoli legend and went on to win championships with both Beşiktaş and Başakşehir.

I don't know if Fenerbahçe will win the championship this year with the contributions of Lukaku, but it's certain that if it happens, it will make the Napoli > Türkiye connection even more interesting.

If Fenerbahçe were to win the championship, even with Lukaku's contribution, it would certainly be something incredible, almost magical, we can say. And this will certainly give economic leverage for future signings by Turkey towards Napoli, and consequently Napoli will gain an excellent advantage from it. I don't think it will end with this score. I think Galatasaray will increase the pressure in the second half and find the goal. Çorumspor is currently playing completely defensively. I think the best thing to do against Galatasaray is to close down. If you can create a team that closes down and defends well, you can at least get a draw against big teams. Çorumspor is trying to do that right now. However, Galatasaray has had many opportunities and will continue to have opportunities in the second half, and I think they will know how to win the match.

We are literally 2-1 behind against a much smaller club. This even happened at our home after we got 1-0 ahead. Galatasaray are in a huge mess at the moment, that's crystal clear!

It's getting messy for Galatasaray right now sending they don't find their feet now to score , it will end as a loss for the champions and they will end today by being at the bottom of the league because that's where they are currently as it stands now. Osimhen opened the scoring for the champions but their opponent later equalised minutes later and added more misery for the home team when they scored the second to put the newly promoted side 2 - 1 up, Galatasaray has to put in more efforts of they are to get something out of this game or they will end up losing it in total even after scoring first. This will be a big disappointment because I know lots of people would have tipped Galatasaray to win this match especially the fact that it's against a new team in the league.
