You guys should chill with the Man city and Arsenal UCL winning chatter. I like arsenal and sometimes city because they made me money from time to time last season but both of those teams have their own issues which I think will hinder them.

  • Man City is undergoing a huge transition. Losing Pep was not a job and they would need sometime to adjust to the new tactics, coaching style, etc and all of that is going to time. It might be fast results like we had with Arrne slot in his debut season at Liverpool. I don't think Enzo is that guy.
  • Arsenal plays more defense than offense forgetting that teams that win are teams that outscore their opponents.

But how many coaches have managed to take a team that was outside the top 5 and, in 6 months, take that team to the top 3 in the Premier League? And look, the Premier League has very strong teams, and Manchester United played against title contenders and did very well, which showed that he is a very skilled coach when it comes to managing Manchester United. I highly doubt any coach would be able to achieve what he did in 6 months. Now imagine if he had arrived in the first game of the first round? He would probably be fighting for the title. We'll see how he does next season.
Carrick has evolved Manchester United differently than the last two managers who handled the club, he may not have done this over a long period, but for the shortest of time he has been the manager, we can assume that Manchester United do have a future to compete for next season title race.

Let's observe his coaching from the start of the the season, and were it will end, he has potential of finishing top four.

I don't want to give Carrick a huge accolade yet as he literally came to the Man United squad at the point where alot of managers had already played alot of there cards and plus some of this top managers where triple tasking there teams in the Champions League, PL and also the domestic cup whereas the Man United squad where solely focus on the PL. I think this next season is the time for him to prove his worth.
I agree with you,  in as much as we are not disputing that Carrick has been a good coach since he arrived Old Trafford,  we also need to understand  that last season is not same as this season, and so we may have to wait for this season  to start before further expressing satisfaction with Carricks performance. This season is going  to be even more tight with fixtures for the team than last season,  and that is going to test them on different levels.

Then let us know which team in your opinion didn't have any issues last season? Cheesy

This was exactly the reason why Arsenal had a chance to win the Premier League, it was because every single team in the league didn't play an outstanding season. They all struggled although at times had a few good weeks, but none of the teams was excellent throughout the whole season.

Arsenal and Manchester City may be a bit of surprise teams next season, but so is Manchester United and Liverpool in my opinion. Nobody can tell whether Liverpool will find back to old strength and whether Manchester United now finally has made it back to the top and will consolidate there or whether they will crash so hard that they will end up fighting relegation again.

Then there is Tottenham, I have no clue what will happen to them. Good players if you go one by one, but as a team they couldn't get anything done last season.

The Premier League is full of unknowns and maybe that makes the season be one that is more exciting than others. It was a strong dominance by Guardiola and Klopp for a long time. It is time to shuffle the cards again. Arsenal was the first team to grab a title in a while, maybe another surprise is going to happen.

I don't think it's as bad as you think.  The transition is still there but Enzo and Pep have a similar style of play because looking at what Enzo is doing in his coaching scheme it's a lot of adapting from Pep's scheme during their time working together so even though the transition and chemistry will be rebuilt but Enzo knows what he has to do with the Manchester City squad now and the players won't lose their soul with the new scheme because Enzo's scheme is not much different from what Pep did.

On the other hand Manchester City is also not a new club for Enzo as he has been here before so he knows what he has to do when he becomes the coach next season so assumptions about new coaching styles and tactics can be minimized for this.  Manchester City still looks quite strong to me even with a new coach but looking at the current conditions they should still be one of the favorites including in the Champions League.

Yes you're right, losing Pep Guardiola might make the league tougher for Manchester City next season, although Enzo Maresca want to follow Pep Guardiola coaching footsteps, but in my opinion it will be a very big challenge to match Pep Guardiola pattern. Enzo Maresca is luck to have a team full of talented players, i believe he can win trophies if he manage them well. Arsenal played a wonderful games this season but I'm concerned with their defensive tactics because i don't think that will work on their favour next season.

Arsenal achieved great success in their defensive system this year. They didn't concede a goal against many teams. They reached the Champions League final conceding very few goals. Of course, Arsenal's success is no coincidence; it's the result of long-term hard work. I expect similarly strong defensive performance from Arsenal next year. However, they also need to acquire important players for their attack to score more goals. They need to improve further in this.

I agree with your submission about Manchester City. They now have a new coach who despite initially serving as Pep Guardiola's assistant I think will need time to fully adapt so I'm not expecting them to go all the way to win the UEFA Champions League next season.
But on the Arsenal side, I think they'll be s very strong contender for the UEFA Champions League title next season. All they need to do is sign few quality attacking players and improve the attack, adding to what they have already in defence, they'll win trophies.

There may well be some truth to what you’re saying, as both teams are indeed facing the issues you mentioned. However, I am fully confident that both teams will successfully overcome these challenges. Regarding Manchester City's performance in the upcoming season, I don't think much will change; the players will undoubtedly continue to play according to the style Pep instilled in them. Even though they have a new manager now, the playing style Pep established at the club is deeply ingrained.

So, assuming my assessment is correct, Manchester City should be just fine. As for Arsenal,, I don't think their issues are particularly complex. They simply need to shift their strategy from a defensive approach to a more attacking one—something that should be easy for Arteta to implement. They might also need to sign a new forward to fully execute that plan. To me, it really seems that straightforward. Looking ahead to the Champions League, I am certain Arsenal will once again be a formidable team, so there is no need for us to worry right now.

Arsenal deservedly won the English Premier League title and played in the Champions League final, but many things helped them in that.
Manchester City and Liverpool were in a transitional phase last season and did not play at their highest level.
In the Champions League, Arsenal was lucky to avoid their strongest competitors, clubs like Bayern or PSG, before the final.
Arteta became pragmatic last season and focused on the result, through solid defense and less on offense (and beautiful play), and this proved to be a successful strategy.

  • Arsenal plays more defense than offense forgetting that teams that win are teams that outscore their opponents.

Arsenal certainly have many chances to move forward, i don't know about Manchester City honestly, they didn't have a top season and they also changed manager.
I'm very skeptical about his fate next season, maybe I'm wrong and he will have a spectacular season.

Arsenal, as i have said several times, in my humble opinion, are the strongest team in Europe at the moment.
Paris Saint-Germain only won on penalties, but honestly they were taking them.
They are two profoundly different teams, i see Paris Saint-Germain as water, fluid, adaptable.
While i see Arsenal as really rocky, very difficult to scratch.

Manchester United can certainly do a lot of interesting work, Carrick in this case could really aim for the Premier League, he started out as a coach who had not been trusted by anyone, instead he turned everything around and began to play great, high-level football.

sorry if I'm an asshole, but this would have been valid for any other coach, even if he wasn't Pep Guardiola's assistant even if he was the Pope's assistant.
Even a top coach of the moment has to have strategies and schemes studied, it's exactly normal.
I'm not angry with you, I'm angry with the press who makes a drama out of it every time.

Taking away the credit from Arsenal doesn't seem like a very nice or correct thing to me.
He played a very good season and even reached the final, putting Paris Saint-Germain in difficulty.
I don't know if you realized this or were watching the football championship on Mars.

Arsenal did very well last season and that was why they were able to lift the premier league trophy and also reach the champions league final, I totally agree with you that Arsenal needs to get at least 4 attackers because the only problem they were having was on their attack so if they can get very good attacking players then they will be more in form next season and may actually lift the champions league title next season, as for their league title I’m very confident that they will lift it again next season.
I really don’t see Manchester City doing very well next season especially since pep is not in the club again so they can’t actually lift the premier league title next season.

Manchester City must necessarily go through this transition period, this must be done because with a new manager the pace will change and also the style of play, this is necessary to ensure that Manchester City returns to winning ways and competes with the other teams straight away.

Manchester United played brilliantly last season with the help of Carrick. The road to champions league qualification was tough. But Carrick managed to achieve it. If they can continue this consistency next season, they have a  chance to do well in the Champions League as well.
Manchester United are likely to give Carrick full freedom to build and manage the squad. United are quite a rich club. They are also ready to spend huge amounts to buy players. I believe we will see consistent performances from united next season and they will do well  in the champions league as well.
Things only got better for Manchester United when Amorim left the club, Michael Carrick was able to put things together because he was given a conducive environment to operate which was why he was able to qualify the team for the UCL, but right now it's a fresh start and a full time job, not on interim basis any more, this time he would be playing in almost all the competitions and you know what that means, the job may become overwhelming.

Was Amorim wasn't given a conducive environment to operate? Michael Carrick was able to fix the team because he understands Manchester United game pattern since he has been with the coaching team for long and know how to use the players for the rightly. He won his first match and won more matches which catapulted United to third position on the table.
