On the contrary, I believe Manchester City were very much on their way to making the premier league a farmers league. I don’t believe City brought competitiveness to the premier league, as far as I’m concerned, Pep assembled an impossible team to beat and did so unfairly. City should be made to face the consequences if found guilty. Besides if they get relegated (which I doubt), they will definitively make it to the league next season.

It is not going to be that easy for them to make it back from the championship because they would not be having the current players they do now due to lots of them transfering to a club in the premier league or in other top leagues around the world. The coach they currently have is already experienced in championship so that would not be a problem for them and I think Manchester city are expecting a possibility of this happening and that is why  they decided to go for a manager like Enzo because no other manager will want to stay with them incase they find themselves in that situation.

I also find this delay unusual, but also without us knowing what happening behide the scenes we should be careful about calling it corruption. Cas involving many charges can take longer due to both sides will have to present evidence and argument also before a decision is being made.

Personally uncertainty is the bigger problem, as the case is still u resolved Manchester City continues to compete and spend heavily. And others are waiting for clarity. Final verdict should be explained clearly and also handle in a way that shows the same rules apply to each and every club no matter what the final verdict is.

There's a lot of politics in this dispute... At the same time, all parties to the conflict are very strong and influential, and therefore, in my opinion, they won't be able to inflict a decisive defeat on each other. The UK also has an interest in a peaceful resolution to this conflict. After all, the UAE is a key investor in the British economy (although the UAE is currently suffering greatly from Iranian attacks, its influence remains significant).

Manchester City is the crown jewel of the Premier League. Such gems are not to be thrown away, especially when significant financial gains are at stake. On the other hand, if Manchester City is completely acquitted, it will create a very bad impression and could even split the Premier League. I can believe that Manchester City will get off with a small fine, but I don't expect any harsh sanctions. 🤷

Isn't it clear? It is showing signs that they are trying to protect a big team and from all indicators, the punishment will be mild; still something that will not be a problem for the club. Manchester City seems unbothered, going about their activities like they have no pending cases. We can just forget that there is a pending case ongoing because it's taking ages. They don't have a choice. At the same time, this strategy works. To be honest, I'd completely forgotten about these charges, and without this thread, I don't know when I would have remembered. It was so long ago, and I hadn't heard anything about it for ages.
The real issue is that they launched that investigation and made it public. As a result, they couldn't just turn a blind eye to the violations, nor could they avoid punishing Man City for them.
Now the League looks ridiculous, but I think it was the best move for them.

Manchester City have been found guilty on almost all of the charges relating to breaches of the Premier League’s financial regulations.

The sanctions have not been decided, with all possibilities remaining on the table, and City are expected to appeal.

City have been found guilty on all but one of the 115 charges, according to sources briefed on the matter who spoke anonymously as they were not authorised to do so publicly. They were first charged in February 2023 following a four-year investigation.

Relegation is not enough. I would prefer a 70-point deduction that will keep them in the Championship league for two seasons. If possible, I want the league trophies to be returned to the rightful owners. Liverpool deserve 2 trophies, followed by Manchester United and Arsenal. Especially Liverpool. Jurgen Klopp was a better manager than Pep Guardiola in that title race. But Manchester City cheated their way into winning it over Jurgen Klopp. Big respect to him.

Tell me Man City have been guilty of many of these charges, now waiting for a decision on the punishment that will fall on him? If city are found guilty, they should be punished immediately without wasting time, so that everyone will rest and the premier league teams will start winning the champions league every season, because Manchester City charges was drawing the league back. However we have to wait for the parties involved to make official statement regarding their punishment. What if at the end of the day the punishment is that city should pay fines. How will you feel?

What I can be sure of here is that this will only extend the duration of the drama but won'tt result in anything let alone sanctions that will be given because the situation is still the same where Manchester City still gives a very big advantage to the federation so that the presence or absence of a continuation of this wont have a significant impact on the result of only prolonging the drama that occurs.

If Manchester City don't benefit any more or maybe the benefit is a little bit the same as clubs that can be said to be small that have been sanctioned like Everton and Nottingham Forrest last season or in this year that happened to Hull City it will look pretty quick but for a big club like Manchester City I doubt even with so many charges they will remain as free as in previous years.

If we look at the recent penalties (Nottingham, Everton), one violation equals a five-point deduction. 114x5 = 570 deduction points, this is the minimum punishment that should be, and we do not take into account recidivism and malicious intent. I think it would be fair to deduct 400 points for that seasons (40 points per season would effectively strip City of the titles they won and return them to proper clubs) and another 170 starting this season. That means guaranteed relegation, plus potential relegation from the Championship the following year.
Is that too much to ask?

Anything less than point deductions and possibly stripping off some of their titles will not be welcome. Let's hope the wait was worth it otherwise the beautiful game of football is already being ruined. I want them to face something similar to what Juventus faced about 2 decades back.
