You don't need to corrupt an entire team. I imagine that corrupting a goalkeeper would probably have the biggest effect, or maybe a player from the defense who intentionally receives a red card by committing a stupid foul. A referee has to wait for the right moment and if that moment doesn't come around for him to take action, what is he going to do? It could either end in such an obviously stupid decision that the whole world will see it or he can't do anything in the first place. It is not the throw in, it is not many other things because there is VAR and all the world watching him.

What was really corrupt was the blatant action taken by Infantino and Trump. There isn't much more you can do to be called corrupt. That's not the way football events should be viewed in my opinion. There should be complete fairness making all parties in the event feel equally and to not have any reason to think that one team or another is favoured or giving special dispositions over them. Argentina can win the World Cup for the second and people wouldn't have anything to say against them when they feel it's all fair but when people think it isn't but with internal officiating support then the honour wouldn't be there as it would when it all feels worthy and deserving.
