Fixing the world cup isn't going to be easy, it might even be more profitable to just leave it to play out than to try and fix it, maybe some matches but not all of them, what's more likely to happen is manipulation where they can try to manipulate the outcome of the match through maybe a biased referee as a lot of people said Argentina allegedly did during the world cup but beyond that there is is no way clear way to fix the matches, not without risking being found out.
I don't know what to say about what happened in this last world cup because it has made me believe that there's nothing human is involved in that will be done with maximum sincerity especially, if the person in charge isn't God fearing and allows things to play out naturally.

It's a shame that FIFA was in support of a particular country which shouldn't be so, because as human you will definitely be attached to that country emotionally and that can make you favor them over the rest. I was really happy that Argentina didn't win the world cup to put FIFA to shame.
It not about what we know (or in this case what we think/assume) but about what we can prove, there might have been certain things that happened that made it look like FIFA was biased in the favour of one particular country but right now nothing can be proved and frankly it won't really matter much anymore, at the very least Argentina didn't win so if truly FIFA was bending the rules to make them win it still didn't work out for them.

The outcome of all these "surprising events":

UEFA Is Looking for a Replacement for Infantino Following the High-Profile FIFA Scandal
According to The Telegraph, European soccer officials are discussing a candidate who could challenge Gianni Infantino in the 2027 FIFA presidential election.
Among the possible contenders are CONCACAF President Victor Montagliani and AFC President Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa. European candidates are not being considered at this time.
Dissatisfaction with Infantino has intensified following his plan to sell a stake in FIFA’s commercial arm to private investors. UEFA has called the project non-transparent and stated that the organization’s leadership has lost the trust of a significant portion of the soccer community.
With so much controversy going on with Infantino FIFA should be more aware now with the proposal for a change of President but this also won't look easy enough to do.

Infantino is still strong with the one association voting system that FIFA is still doing so this will make Infantino strong because he is prepared with FIFA Forward which always leads to small countries.

In addition, it cannot be denied although we have to put aside politics but here the FIFA president now has a pretty good closeness with some superpowers so this can also make it easier for him to be comfortable with his position.
Some names such as Nasser Al Khelaifi who has been pushed to challenge Infantino don't seem interested in doing so because he is satisfied as the current owner of the club rather than trying to compete for the FIFA presidency.

WE end up with a vicious cycle where corruption has the right to defend itself and retain this power and the right to engage in corruption as long as they vote for themselves! And if that doesn’t work, then influential politicians and heads of state will step in. "Nothing personal - it’s strictly business"… The world, especially at the level of international organizations, has simply become a feeding trough for a pack of corrupt officials, who are also backed by the "powers that be".

The feeling is mutual. Now, CONCACAF and the Asian part seem to have given UEFA their approval and are against FIFA. It's supposedly being said, according to some unofficial news I saw, that Infantino is already asking Trump for help to see if he can intervene to protect him and prevent his removal as president. But apparently, Trump hasn't given it the necessary importance. It seems that their plan to privatize sectors of football has fallen through. There have always been corruption scandals at FIFA, but this time it's worse with Infantino.

Oh you think that FIFA actually wanted Argentina to win huh? If that was it then I know that even Spain wouldn't have win Argentina. The real reason why Spain win Argentina was because of that red card that Enzo got because he got very rough.  If FIFA really favoured Argentina, then what stopped FIFA from making sure their favorite argentina win the finals. FiFA would have paid the referee so that he will not give the red card to Enzo, so that the match enters penalty.

As far as I know Argentina wasn't favoured, those dude are good and they play a fair and good game all through the tournament.

Any mistake you think the referee do to favour argentina could even be a human error, that can happen also to other club. Guys like you are just annoyed for no reason with argentina because they make it to the finals and your favourite club didn't make it

The way this World Cup played out a lot of people felt their concerns about Argentina were justified. There were too many calls that went their way soft foul calls, key decisions that seemed to favor them and opponents getting punished for similar challenges that Messi and his teammates got away with. It wasn't just one game either. Match after match, the pattern was hard to ignore. Even neutral fans started noticing. You can't blame people for questioning the integrity of the competition when the officiating keeps steering one direction.

Al-Khelaifi does not require the title. He is with Ceferin right now, who is deciding whether or not European clubs boycott the next Club World Cup. If that happens? All of Infantino's commercial worth disappears.

I have been seeing Montagliani's name everywhere. Canadian, who is running CONCACAF, is essentially co-running the 2026 World Cup delivery at the moment. He is not European so Africa does not automatically reject him. He is not from the Gulf so the Western press does not go after him. And CONCACAF already came out unanimously against FFE so his anti-Infantino credentials are locked in without him even having to say anything publicly yet.

It is too early, of course. Nomination deadline is not until November.

From Argentina's first match, the favoritism was evident. What they did to Egypt was blatant; they scored perfectly good goals and then eliminated them from Egypt. It's unjustifiable. Just because they're the FIFA president's favorite doesn't mean they should be favored, because that leads to match-fixing, and that becomes an absolute corruption. It makes no sense. Personally, I placed few bets; it's difficult like this.

Besides situation between Egypt and Argentine, where there more examples of scam and favoritism (that really had impact on teams stance in table) in World Cup? I am not talking about situation like giving a free kick where it wasnt needed, which did not have any effect on game at all. Or ignoring some faults, that were not crucial. What if scheme was not to make Argentina win in game against Egypt, but to blackmail Egypt? Just a crazy idea "demand Egypt to pay, but if they dont, intimidate they will lose an important game".

I didn't notice much favoritism against Egypt but that of Spain was pronounced, at some point it became even more irritating. The case of Egypt I won't blame the referee or FIFA but rather Egypt who allowed such humiliating comeback after taking the lead until the 79' where the became sluggish in their defense. Where the whole world stood against their unfair play was against Spain where they almost rigged it in favour of Argentina but everything changed in the 106'.

Of course, that match seemed unreal when Argentina scored a goal after a goal at the end. I couldn't believe it was possible, but then I thought, a lot can happen in football, and the world of football has seen such comebacks for a long time. Still, today I'm almost certain it was a FIFA-free game. Argentina got lucky, and Egypt was a bit nervous and couldn't fully control themselves at the right moment. Still, Argentina looked very weak against Spain in the final. If Messi had won the championship, I'd have believed in a FIFA conspiracy, but for now, I don't see the point.

That stuff you are pointing at belongs to the class of personal bias rather than policy, even if it was hidden by FIFA itself. Argentina is definitely a notable entity in their field, but not one worth a reputation risk. There are more powerful influencers there Spain is one of them. I don't think there was any scam involved in this Cup. Probably some minor flaws existed, but definitely no scamming.

Maybe that was the plan, for Argentina to beat everyone but ultimately lose the final, and that would make you question whether it was a conspiracy or not. I don't really believe in conspiracies, especially at such a high profile tournament, but Argentina had a lot of similar wins. They'd concede early goals, then score a few late goals and win. In my opinion, it looked too similar, and that's what seemed strange.

Nevertheless, referees can, of course (in some cases), favor Argentina and Messi over other teams and players. However, in my opinion, this has nothing to do with corruption. It's simply a consequence of psychological pressure. Referees are human too. They know that Argentina is a former world champion, and Messi is an idol for millions. Therefore, they are afraid of incurring the wrath of the South American team's fans.

Don't you think that helping Messi or any team is an unsportsmanlike act? Because I can't help a player or team in a sport just because they're liked by the person in charge at FIFA, or because they have a business deal. That's why sports should be as pure and honest as possible, starting with the referees. If the referees favor a particular team, it's because there's corruption; you can't disguise that with pretty words.
Is there a thing like a single person making decision all by himself without the insight of others in the football world? the referee does not work alone and can not even depend on his decision alone, he has to work with linemen and the VAR as aids that helps validates his decision. same is the case with the FIFA president. he does not make decision on his own and having preference for a single player can not make him stand against other official that has to jointly ascend to everything before it even gets to the public domain. there might be some discrepancies that we are not even seeing but not in the manner most persons are taking it as though the FIFA president has the monopoly of power to manipulating things to favor Messi.
