I agree with you that the next generation footballers will break Messi record and create a new record for themselves just like when Messi hasn't achiever all these trophies, Pele was the greatest but Messi and Ronaldo came and take over from Pele. So both of you guys are wrong. Messi was turned 39 years old as per june 24. Nevertheless, in term of goal scoring Messi is still topping the chart as a player with most of goals in WC history. He may add more in the upcoming games.

I use to say that Messi is overhyped but if we actually check the record he has a high number of goals go look compared to Ronaldo, even though it is just a slight difference Messi is still at the the top. Ronaldo has been on everyone's story since Portugal's last game and seems to be the trending player but at the end of the day we just have to wait until the end of the world cup to conclude.

Messi has fantastic club (especially with Barcelona) and national team achievements behind him and it is unlikely that anyone will surpass him in the near future.
It is true that Ronaldo won one European Championship title with Portugal, but Messi won both the South American Championship and the World Championship with Argentina.
With Barcelona, ​​he won more trophies than Ronaldo and he also won more personal recognitions such as the award for the best footballer in the world.

Some of the diehard Ronaldo and Messi fans are not looking at the brighter side of the future as football continues to advance with more and more skillful players making it into the pitch that's how we would have another generation of footballers that would do exceptionally great by creating and breaking records of previous great players before them. In football anything is possible and that includes records breaking.

Lionel Messi has shown to the world once again for the outmost time and being the only player to have participated in the FIFA world cup 6th times, at thirty-eight (38) years he has once again showed why he should be considered as the Greatest player of all-time (GOAT) with an outstanding performance of 9.4 rating, 80 minutes played, 3 goals scored and 5 shots against Algeria before walking off the pitch with the Man of the Match (MOTM) award once again.

Such a great thing indeed. He is a very incredible player. I have seen videos of him and interactions with other fans and I wish that he wasn't so full of himself and actually had a heart to at least like just acknowledge fans and interact with them like some of the other players do but hey that has nothing to do with the sport. He is an amazing player no doubt and I also agree there is probably never going to be another player like him as good as he is for a long long time.
