Gambling could be called an investment if you were constantly making more or less profit from gambling. But instead of making regular profits from gambling, your losses are higher than your profits from gambling. Since the losses are higher in gambling, it is more risky than investing. You have gold and you have been holding it for a long time and you gambled with $100. $100 became zero after a month, but gold gave you profit after a month. In this case, how can we call gambling an investment because gambling is more risky than investing.
Even if you could make consistent profit from gambling (although that is extremely unlikely), it still would not make gambling an investment. Gambling is still gambling, and its nature doesn't change just because you happen to be lucky and get better result than someone else. When you gamble, you don't actually own any underlying asset. You're simply putting money on an uncertain outcome and hoping it goes your way. Meanwhile, investing means you own asset or shares in company. Gambling can never become an investment.

Gambling is an investment, it will be hard to believe, but that's the truth. The sole reason why people gamble is to make money, even if it is very risky betting, we still have to play games because you cannot just tell whether your winning will come from that particular one or not. Those who gamble have chances of making it in life than those who don't gamble at all, and you can attest to what I'm saying if you've won a bet before especially when it's a huge amount of money.
Trading and gambling are almost alike, however, I prefer gambling to trading and I've always gambled because gambling does not need much studying like the way trading does, gamblers win more than traders and I don't think anyone will doubt me on this.

Haha, you're right. The main reason people gamble is to make money. Nobody really gambles just for fun. That's usually just an excuse to hide what they're really after. Those who gamble have chances of making it in life than those who don't gamble at all, and you can attest to what I'm saying if you've won a bet before especially when it's a huge amount of money.
Do you have any evidence to back up that claim? What percentage of gamblers actually win, let alone win a large amount of money? I'd bet less than 0.1% of gamblers are actually able to make money from gambling. Trading and gambling are almost alike, however, I prefer gambling to trading and I've always gambled because gambling does not need much studying like the way trading does, gamblers win more than traders and I don't think anyone will doubt me on this.
I really hope you know what you are doing and what you are talking about. Because most gamblers, especially those who see gambling as a way to make money, don't end up well.

Based on your judgments, I can agree with the statements, but only partially. I think it depends on the player himself whether gambling will become an investment or force him to be a beggar. There are guys in my locale who are absolutely talented at winning contests in sports matches. I also saw cool poker players who were very good at controlling their emotions and minds. They earned a lot.But at the same time, I've seen live examples of uncontrolled gambling and betting. It looked terrible and could not pretend to be an investment, because there the personality was destroyed.

As in how? I don't freaky understand. How can gamble be an investment for cried out loud. These are two different thing all together, moreover there's no way they can even match in the same lane. Gamble will always be what it's and for no other reason than fun or for entertainment purposes, any dude that sees it outside this functions is on his own. While at the other hands, there are also other things we can refer to as investment like venturing into Bitcoin investment, real estate investment, gold mining and so forth. However, referring to gamble as an investment can be very misleading. Because it can make folks that only had in mind to have fun to start thinking from an opposite direction and possibly a way of making money.

There are gamblers in almost every community, but I have serious doubts about whether those you call skilled in controlling their emotions have been able to maintain that attitude in the long term. Among gamblers, I have seen gamblers addicted to poker who are initially very confident and win but gradually become aggressive to win more. Excessive aggressiveness is what turns a gambler into a beggar. I have more stories of failure than success. One of the reasons for this is that they think they are smart and skilled in gambling and show others that they are having great success, but in reality they are losing a lot. I know examples of some living gamblers who are experienced gamblers. They do not show themselves in reality and do not think they are skilled, but they are the ones who return to their destination with a win in the end.

From what you’ve said, I can infer that you might view gambling differently depending on the type of game. If a gambler is skilled at a particular game and has mastered it well while playing, you could view that as an investment in the future. It sounds like something out of a movie, like *The Gambler*. Unfortunately, I haven’t found a solid reason to agree that gambling can be considered a future investment. Gambling is a system designed not for investment with the expectation of profit, but to test how lucky someone is.

But in gambling you don’t have any underlying assets, so gambling can never be a someone’s investment.

Because it can make folks that only had in mind to have fun to start thinking from an opposite direction and possibly a way of making money. Gambling is not an investment because there's no guarantee that you will win any day. After all, you need luck to make that happen. As for investment, you have a higher chance of getting profits if you compare it with gambling. There are many successful people out there who are into different means of investment, and not all of them are gamblers. Investment can make a person rich, but gambling cannot make anyone rich because there's no guarantee of becoming rich through gambling. Most of the jackpot winners had also lost more than that in gambling already, so it's like getting back their losses after a long time. Some people are already addicted to gambling and also useless because they didn't invest the money they wasted on gambling. So I don't really know what he's saying, because I don't understand how gambling is part of investment. What I know is that gambling is for entertainment purposes; that's why only the owners are making profits.

It is impossible for someone to treat gambling like an investment since gambling is so different from investing.. although some people approach investing with a gambler's mindset, gambling still cannot be equated to investing, because you are not placing your money on assets that generate value over the long term.. you are only risking money on an uncertain outcome, one that is more advantageous to the house in the long run.. That said, there are still some people who insist on thinking of gambling as if it were an investment.. it's just exhausting to explain like this to someone who has such misguided thoughts.

People raise capital and invest in small game shops where people go there and place bets, make predictions, buy lottery tickets, play some gambling games etc. People design sites where people gamble or play games and the owners of those sites make their money. Anyone who calls himself a gambler and is not doing any of these that I just mentioned above is just deceiving himself. The earlier he realises and invests in something better and quite predictable, the better for him because he will be saving himself from losing more money. In my country, people invest in gambling by owning physical gambling businesses. Both big and small businesses according to their amount of capital.

Even if you win now, the next round of your losing streak may start, it is not impossible but very possible. And this is why gambling can never be compared to an investment. Those who do this, I will say in one word that they have no real knowledge and are a kind of addict.

Don’t be clear about investing in those who don’t want to understand that gambling is different from investing in general. Gambling is aimed at entertainment and making money just for those who are quite consistent and understand how gambling works. If you want to invest then buy and hold Bitcoin or invest in some other platforms that lack risk. Investment in gambling is only done by bookies or those who have gambling companies and those who work together to build gambling because it is a promising business and investment for the long term if well implemented and promotions that continue to be made. For casino players is an entertainment, profit or not it's just another problem, Tap don't be too swayed to keep playing and become addicts.

Is he right from what you think?
From my point of view, gambling and investing means two things entirely. They do not relate in meaning or in any way because they both have separate functions and importance in our lives. This is because gamble is for entertainment purposes. It is just another means to catch fun when you are bored and when you feel like you need something to entertain yourself with then gambling is a good idea. Another good thing about gambling is that you can make money from it. aside from using it to pass time or to entertain yourself in your bored time, you can make money from it if you're lucky. So gambling is for entertainment and your winning depend on luck but whereas if you invest, you will be sure that your investment will generate you profits. In investment your chances of generating income doesn't depend on luck rather the asset that you invest in is what determine the amount of money you will make. For example, if you invest in bitcoin and hold, your chances that you will make huge profits depend on the amount that you invested coupled with how much bitcoin grow over the years.

In my opinion, the issue isn't whether you win or lose, but the nature of the activity itself. As I said before, even if you win a lot of money from gambling, at the end of the day, you don't actually own anything. On the other hand, a losing investment is still an investment because you still own an asset. The outcome doesn't change what they are. Just like apple and orange can't replace each other or become the same thing just because they're both fruit.

Gambling is an investment, it will be hard to believe, but that's the truth. There is definitely a difference between gambling and trading, if you don't look at trading and gambling from the same perspective. It is true that there is a risk of losing money through trading and gambling and most people trading or gambling to get rich quick but there is no guarantee of making money through gambling, it depends entirely on your luck but making money through trading depends entirely on yourself. When you stay in the market at the right time with specific knowledge and keeping an eye on the market movements and leave the market at the right time without making too much money, you will benefit financially. So I never look at gambling and trading from the same perspective, there is definitely a difference between them.

Both depends on yourself, you need to initiate to bet and/or trade first before you get a luck. It's true that getting rich on gambling is possible even you have small bank roll through luck but the chances are very small. On trading, getting rich quick is not possible especially for smal capitals unlike gambling. But if you have the capital and knowledge it might be possible.

You’re very correct, even if you’re making constant profit from gambling, it doesn’t still make gambling an investment. Just like you have said gambling will always be gambling because of its uncertainty. Investment is totally different from gambling because it’s something valuable, just like shares in company or assets. But in gambling you don’t have any underlying assets, so gambling can never be a someone’s investment.
Besides not having any underlying assets through gambling, a gambler will also never win consistently through it because the bookmaker already knows who wins and who loses. So, in this case, there's a clear difference between gambling and investing, because investment always depends on the price and demand for a particular asset. In gambling, however, people aren't buying a product, but rather buying a service and betting on a specific game created by a particular party.

But if someone does not want to understand the general point, then in that case I have nothing to say, because he is now blinded by his own thoughts, who basically consider gambling as an investment. We definitely need to think realistically, right? How can people think of sure income from gambling and consider gambling as an investment? There is no sure possibility of any result in gambling. We cannot even guess, it depends entirely on luck, and there is no guarantee of any kind of result. But a business or investment is completely different from its type, and to understand this, a realistic mindset is first required.

Most people gets deceived and takes that deception to become their reality possibly because it worked for them consecutively for the first through fifth time and then they take it as their foundation forgetting the reality behind what they are doing. If a person like your friend must have made good wins from his big bets, and that gave him the conviction that gambling is a good source of income, it simply means he will never realise what really gambling is driven by.
Gambling is completely 50/50 chance, an entertainment thing with no assured mind that winning is guaranteed. Trading with patience and the right decisions in the market is what determines whether you'll make profit or not. Both trading and gambling has risk, but the rush behind trading is more calculated and worth taking than that of gambling.
