There are not many traders out in the market that have earned enough profit through trading but we have many cases where people have to bear huge loses in trading. If you have enough capital then it doesn't mean that you can make profit easily in trading unless you learn and develop necessary skills required for trading. If you have huge capital even then don't start trading straight away with that rather start with small money and increase your money with time as you develop confidence in handling trading risk .
Our capital doesn’t determine our success nor trading outcomes, capital only gives more benefits when we have enough like using a bigger lots size and have the ability to open more than a single entry and still not feel scared when In loss. The outcome of our journey lays on our hand as a trader, if we seek much of knowledge in trading and learn some basic skills and techniques aside just the knowledge alone then we might make progress in the journey but when we don’t seek more knowledge then our outcome can easily be predicted.

Trading isn’t just like investment where we can go with just basic knowledge, when we go into trading with basic knowledge then we will see basic profits alone and more of losses.

Your own comment shows a double standard. You once said that capital does not determine results and success in trading, and in the next paragraph you give priority to the size of the capital. The main point is that the size of the capital can be small or large, but success in trading depends on the prudent method you use. Experienced traders follow the method of keeping the market conditions in their favor but beginners do not have that attitude. The high capital of experienced traders can lead to failure of planned and short-term trading strategies because there is risk in trading just like gamblers have the possibility of losing every bet.

This retardation is why trading is directly proportional to gambling or directly likened to gambling and gambling has been a bad advice since time immemorial.
Honestly, having enough capital should mean meeting up enough Bitcoin or more than enough Bitcoin very early it should not necessarily become a temptation into trading that can along the line even affect your hodling capacity as the case may or the way things happens (unforseen circumstances).

Starting with a large capital without sufficient knowledge and skills in trading increases the risk of large losses as well as profits. If a new trader does not know enough about market fluctuations, stop-loss, risk-reward, then a large capital can increase the amount of losses instead of solving his problems. Trading does not become safe just by starting with a small capital. Trading risks still exist. Getting good results for a certain period of time does not mean that the same results will be obtained in the future. Therefore, it may be more important to start small and gain experience than to start trading with a large capital before developing skills.

You say that trading is risky and you still want person to be starting small in trading, what make you think that you wouldn't loose even when you start small. So if you like use large capital to trade or if you like use small capital, losses can still happen, it cannot be avoided. Even those person that have plenty experience in trading still use to loose money anyhow.

This is why it is not a good choice to trade. Or it should be reduced down to the barest minimum. Person can just ongoingly invest for a long time using discretionary income and then quit obsessing over trading. Doing that will help the person to grow their wealth over the years.

They are somewhat related because if you trade and lose, there is no way that your money will return. Therefore, it would be better to understand your analysis so that you have a guide of what you are doing instead of just gambling everything away. If you know what you are doing, we will be able to do important things because, aside from trading, we need to understand how to manage the risk of trading because if you don't, you will lose a lot of money. But the problem people have is that they want to make quick money and it does not work that way. Trading is more complicated and the earlier the better we understand that because trading is a responsibility and we need to take it seriously, to aviod losing so much money.
But when you invest and hold for about 4 to 10 years time, there is no way you wouldn't have something tangible, or something you can build future with. Perhaps, this sound sweet but that's the undiluted truth people failed to acknowledge. Hence, if you must benefit from bitcoin then investing is just the smooth way of achieving it. Short term trading may look good and attractive but it can liquidate your entire finance in a tinkle of an eyes.
I agree with the advice to hold for a long time instead of short-term trading. However, it is not realistic to say that you will get a guaranteed result if you hold for four to ten years. If you want, you can present four years as a market cycle. But the final result will depend on when you bought, how much you saved and whether you have to sell when necessary.

If someone buys Bitcoin with the money they need, they may be forced to sell in an emergency situation even if they have a long-term plan. Therefore, choosing the right money and building an emergency fund may be more important than calculating profits by time.

Bitcoin investment is worth giving a trial, and in as much as I would advise people to invest in it I will also let them know that it is wrong to invest with loan money because Bitcoin investment is not a Short term investment or scheme that you will invest today and start expecting reward in a week or two.
That's what I 'm saying. Say, someone took a loan in Summer this year, when Bitcoin was $60k, bought BTC with the money and cash out at $80k today. Would he be in profit? Yes. But could anyone predict in July that BTC will be $80k+ in September? No. No one could predict that. Bitcoin is unpredictable.

That would be dumb to take a loan to buy bitcoin and it would be dumb to sell out for 33% profit.

There were guys in 2016 who bought at $600 and sold out between $800 and $2k, yet that ended up being pretty dumb.

In bitcoin it has tended to be good to come into it with a relatively long time horizon of 4-10 years or longer rather than fucking around with mediocre profits, and sure many guys might even take 4-10 years or longer to just build up their position, yet maybe when they had spent 4-10 years or longer building their position, then they put themselves in a good position to start to consider to either live off their bitcoin so that they do not have to work or they supplement their other income with their being able to draw from their bitcoin.

In bitcoin investment you have to exercise patient before you could get a better return even though there's no guarantee about the return but one thing I believe is that whoever that held his or her bitcoin for Long probably 5-10 years or more will not regret ever holding Bitcoin for Long term.
Yeah, that for sure. I would even say that holding BTC for 4 years would be most likely enough to make a profit.
(Sometimes I regret talking about Bitcoin as of a thing you can make a profit from. Bitcoin is an amazing form of money first of all. We shouldn't forget about that.)

The timeline for holding bitcoin should probably be 10 years or longer, unless you have age concerns or health concerns that do not allow you to hold 10 years or longer.

you are thinking about short term profits, and you are likely not going to do very well in your bitcoin if you spend 4 years building it up and then you sell all of it.

Does not sound like you have any good plans, and trading bitcoin sounds like a loser move.. and go back to the guys who had been accumulating 4-10 years or longer, the real profits seem to really come after a couple of cycles rather either within cycles or merely after 1 cycle.

But hey.  Do what you like and use bitcoin for mediocre profits and perhaps meaningless strategies to actually advance your wealth status.

By there are ways that guys potentially could profit in shorter periods of time, and that is if they can front load their bitcoin .. but still even guys who had front loaded their bitcoin and put 1- 2 years of their income into bitcoin in less than a whole cycle, they may well still be way better off to wait at least one whole additional cycle before they start to consider ways to start to draw upon their bitcoin account.

This retardation is why trading is directly proportional to gambling or directly likened to gambling and gambling has been a bad advice since time immemorial.

Trading is more complicated and the earlier the better we understand that because trading is a responsibility and we need to take it seriously, to aviod losing so much money.
The problem with trading is that you have to buy it right time it is not ta only  job that create complications. In short time trading you have to buy it at the right time, you also have to decide to sell Bitcoin at the right time. Depending on how quickly you want to take profit, the price of Bitcoin will increase according to expectations. You have to do the same thing again . But it is not possible for Bitcoin to increase according to your expectations in every time . That's when traders have problems. They sell Bitcoin at the wrong time, they can't predict the market.

Any time that a person who believes themselves to be an investor sells bitcoin, they run the risk of both not being able to buy back cheaper, but they also put themselves into a waiting mentality (and practice) rather than a practice of ongoingly buying.

It is not a problem to get into a selling and/or a waiting strategy as long as you have enough or more than enough bitcoin, yet part of the problem is that many guys start to sell (or wait) before they actually have enough or more than enough bitcoin.

Many guys here should be ongoingly focusing on buying bitcoin and not incorporating selling in their tactics, because selling does not help them to accumulate more bitcoin.. It only gambles the potentiality of being able to get more bitcoin based on causing them to go into a waiting rather than ongoing buying strategy.

So it is difficult to make a profit by trading Bitcoin to get rich in the short term and most of the time people lose. But it is possible to make a profit from trading. But it is like gambling, if the market price increases according to your expectations and time, then you will make a profit. But this same event will not happen every time . So you will not be able to make a profit consistently . And if you cannot make  profit, then you will have to face loss. So there is no need to create unnecessary mental pressure. I think it is more convenient to do DCA regularly with  long term mindset.

These are good points SPIDERMAN008.  The profits from trading (or selling) or doing better based on including selling into the tactic rather than ongoingly buying is a form of gambling, since it may or may not end up happening, and personally, I got into investing in bitcoin based on wanting to ongoingly take actions to make things happen (which is ongoingly adding to the bitcoin stash until getting enough) rather than gambling upon whether or not the bitcoin stash may or may not end up going up.

One more thing that selling causes, even for guys who believe that they are making a killing in dollar profits, is that they end up selling way too much bitcoin too soon.. and then they say, "fuck"  the price did not end up coming back down.. and they spent so much time waiting and they end up with way the hell less bitcoin than what they had or could have had with the same amount of capital.. and maybe they also end up losing that capital or spending a bunch of time spinning their wheels and ending up with almost the same amount of bitcoin and capital yet they spent hours and hours and hours stressing themselves out looking at the price and trying to make up for their various earlier losses... which may or may not end up working out for them.

1) Self-Custody is a right.  Resist being labelled as: "non-custodial" or "un-hosted."  2) ESG, KYC & AML are attack-vectors on Bitcoin to be avoided or minimized.  3) How much alt (shit)coin diversification is necessary? if you are into Bitcoin, then 0%......if you cannot control your gambling, then perhaps limit your alt(shit)coin exposure to less than 10% of your bitcoin size...Put BTC here: bc1q49wt0ddnj07wzzp6z7affw9ven7fztyhevqu9k

In contrast, the idea of taking loan is a risky move not when it specifically for investment. You are right this is totally a dumb idea because I don’t know how some people do reason from their own end, like there are aware of what investment is and bitcoin being a volatile currency should have given them more reason for being risky but they intend to take a loan and invest into something which profits isn’t guaranteed. what the hell is wrong with some people

And the idea of selling our holdings at the range of 1-4 years isn’t an investment anymore, it technically a trading approach and that trading mindset. They came for short term gains from bitcoin and they also come along with high risk on their back. Just imagine what would have happen when they ended in reds with the loan taken what a dumb idea.
Investment should be done by our discretionary income and as for bitcoin, to make a good investment it is the long term and that is 4-10 years of holding or probably more and anything below that year is technically trading.

It doesn't make any sense to take out a loan to buy Bitcoin if the goal is to own it for the long haul and it doesn't make sense to sell all of the Bitcoin one has if they made 33% because that's just a normal profit.

Profit and wealth go hand in hand. I think the focus during the accumulation should be on continual buy in not to look to make small or moderate profits. The time it takes to build a strong Bitcoin portfolio or to hold can vary from 4 to 10 years or even more, depending on factors like income surplus funds consistency and the investment strategy's aggressiveness.

However if you sell Bitcoin just because you've made some money, then they will start to become scarce and if you start to buy them back, it will get much harder.

Investors who borrow money to invest are truly foolish. After all, investing is inherently risky; by borrowing, they are simply adding another layer of risk to an already risky venture. Why take out a loan to invest in Bitcoin—or anything else—when such investments can be funded through discretionary income? Yes, borrowing might be justified if it creates a specific opportunity to purchase a larger amount of Bitcoin at a low price.

However, borrowing simply to maintain a regular investment routine is truly unwise. An investor who can fund their investments from discretionary income should never resort to borrowing. I do not consider investing with borrowed money to be a rational approach. To those who could invest using even a small portion of their regular income, I would advise investing in smaller amounts rather than ever taking on debt.

If you have enough capital then it doesn't mean that you can make profit easily in trading unless you learn and develop necessary skills required for trading.
Even as that, it still doesn't guarantee anything since there is more higher chance of losing significantly on the long run. However, trading is like throwing dice with your hard earned money and you risk losing it at your very eyes. I don't subscribe to it, investing is just better.

Quote
If you have huge capital even then don't start trading straight away with that rather start with small money and increase your money with time as you develop confidence in handling trading risk .
Why I don't like going closer or freaking around trading even if I have huge capital is that it can get someone stucked. I know discipline also play a huge role but you can never tell when you'll get carried away and before you know it you're drained. Thus, investing especially in a long term plan is just the way forward and the perfect way of maintaining our peace and offcurse that is what bitcoin understands perfectly.

Bitcoin investment is not a get rich quick scheme which you are sure of making many times profit on your investment on a short timeframe so if you don't plan to take profit for many years there is actually no need to borrow and buy Bitcoin. There is no need to put yourself under pressure because you want to buy dip or aggressively, if you don't have a reserve funds for it you should just concentrate on using your regular discretionary funds to do DCA.

Don't compare your Bitcoin accumulation with that of whales, many of them can afford to buy as much Bitcoin as they want without taking any loans for it, it shouldn't matter if they will make far more profit than you when Bitcoin perhaps reaches $1,000,000, you should focus on what you are capable to accumulate. Bitcoin is not running to anywhere so instead of borrowing to buy you can work smarter to increase your income so you will have enough discretionary funds to accumulate more.

Your point is really vital because if someone is trying to buy more bitcoin that doesn't suit their financial situation they may be putting themselves into financial pressures. Borrowing money to accumulate more bitcoin may seems to be a good idea especially when the price is going up, however this money must be paid back regardless of the market conditions or how the market may turn out.
It is not a good thing to compare oneself with another investor, our investment should be tailored to our financial situation and not based on how much others are using or how much bitcoin they have.  People should buy bitcoin with an amount they can afford and also have an emergency funds incase of an unexpected expenses.

A further point which is often ignored is how investments influence an individual's attitude during a falling market. This is not just about the yield but the pressure which a person might experience if the markets were to turn.

An example would be a person who invests more than they can afford and then begins to monitor their investment obsessively and react emotionally to market movements because they do not want to lose money that they need. This can turn the long-term perspective into a short-term concern.

That's why I believe a sustainable investment strategy should be based on a person's actual financial ability to save, rather than a specific amount of Bitcoin. There is no one size fits all amount for every investor. Perhaps a smaller position that can be sustained for years is more effective than a larger one that brings financial stress.

Honestly borrowing money to buy Bitcoin is probably the biggest mistake in the Bitcoin market. People believe that during the bull market they will be able to quickly repay the debt due to profit made but in case the market makes a 30 to 40 percent correction, they are compelled to sell everything for pennies in order to avoid losses, Also comparing your portfolio with whales is nothing but foolishness. Their backup and risk taking ability is completely different from that of ordinary investors. So yeah the most peaceful way to live in Bitcoin is when people make DCA in small portions from the excess of their regular income, It is much more effective to increase your income by focusing on your main work or business than to run blindly after coins. This does not create any mental stress or panic even during the biggest market decline.

The problem is not  how much someone invests, but whether the money used  in investing is money truly available for long term investment. If someone invests using the money he may need later, a market drop can easily create panic and can  force them to sell off their bitcoin stash.

Personally, I believe it is better to invest using  only available amount of discretionary income an investor have and continue consistently than to invest aggressively using  non discretionary and struggle financially later.  what matters most being able to invest and hold for the long term growth than just investing aggressively with the hope of making quick profit.

Fundamentally, trading should be done only when you have the basic knowledge to trade, because cryptocurrency market is not like every other market that have less risks that any newbies can survive in, crypto is high visibility assets and only expects can make good trading decisions, so not about how much capital you hold that determined your profits, but the level of your experience, knowledge and skills is what gives you that trading success you expect, so newbies should focus on investments in Bitcoin instead of to involve in high risk activity like trading.

There is nothing wrong if an investor decides to take loan to buy Bitcoin. As long as he’s not doing it with the intention to trade it later for short term profit and use part of it to repay, because that would be a very dumb move and am 100% against that. If he simply just wants to buy more to add to his portfolio size and continue holding, then that’s fine. He must also have reliable ways to repay the loan, but it must be outside his bitcoin investment. It could be from business or other income source.

As long as they can afford it and have income from other sources, it's clearly not a problem. Borrowing money is like credit, and it must be paid back on time every month to avoid further problems. However, I've seen a small number of people fail to make timely repayments, even though they have other businesses they can rely on to cover the loan. This is still considered wrong by some. However, for those who can afford such payments, it's clearly not a bad option, as their goal is to increase the amount of Bitcoin in their personal wallet. So it still depends on each person's abilities because not everyone can have the same thing.

Small investors can profit but depends on two things; the amount of money used and the duration of time they can hold their Bitcoin investment, that's how long that you're willing to hodl because we can't put in money into Bitcoin today and tomorrow expect to see profit, Bitcoin isn't magic money assets, but it rewards those that has patient holding it. Generally, Bitcoin rewards you over time, and that's one well-proven method to be profitable as a small investor.

Yeah, Bitcoin is not a magic wonders, it requires consistency in accumulation of Bitcoin by always putting in that amount to increase the deposit as much as possible and patience to wait for even a decade+ without thinking of withdrawing. Putting in money this month and expecting profit next month or even months is gambling about Bitcoin which means expecting it to be magical. Consistency, patience and decipline to avoid the temptation of withdrawing (all of which is holding on to the proven history of long-term holding being the best) is the magic wonders of investors in Bitcoin investment.

However, investing in Bitcoin requires a long-term plan and patience. Every investor should make a plan so that they hold Bitcoins for a period of 5 to 10 years and continue to deposit more to grow their funds. It is better if every investor does not sell their deposited Bitcoins but holds them for a long time and follows the DCA strategy every month or week. In terms of investment, it is most profitable if they can hold them patiently while maintaining their discipline. Those who invest in Bitcoin should follow a plan that gives a lot of returns on their money over time. Accordingly, if B is employed in Bitcoin, it will definitely provide financial freedom in the future and will give several times more profit than the amount invested.

When you use the word “definitely”, you’re making it sound more like there’s a guarantee of making profit In bitcoin whereas profit is not guaranteed In bitcoin as you can also lose your investment in the long run during a heavy market crash. Bitcoin is highly unpredictable due to its high price volatility and at such even though bitcoin have the potential of generating profit let’s not also forget that it also have the potential of making you lose your investment during extreme market downturns. Invest according to your level of risk tolerance, treat bitcoin more like a high risk  speculative asset and don’t be too profit minded so you don’t end up getting disappointed after you might have invested with more than what you can afford to lose.
