I have been issued a signature ban recently. I am not here to argue that my ban is right or wrong, instead, I just wanted to know what mistakes I have been making and what things I need to focus on that may improve my writing skills.

Thanks
You post the most generic, short and useless shitposts exclusively to make money. That is what you need to change, basically everything about you. Stop pretending that you don't know what is wrong, that is some childish behavior that you have not grown out of -- thinking that pretending to be innocent will get you sympathy, but it won't with anyone who isn't naive, in fact it will get you even more scrutiny. Compare your post history to mine, and you can easily see what is wrong with your profile. One of my posts is better than half of your posting history combined. Nutildah here is being generous and soft on most of you, perhaps with or without some guidance of theymos -- I would have permanently sig. banned accounts like yours on the first strike. So be grateful, suck it up and don't pretend to be innocent. Unless you are a brain-deranged 70 IQ mongrel, anyone can notice a difference between posting quality between a shitposting account and a high quality account like @d5000.

A person that is here to contribute genuinely will have an inconsistent posting profile that will have variations in style, lenght, quality, place of posting and frequency of posting -- unless they are exclusively interested in one thing, but that does not apply to signature campaign participants in general.

I'm a bit confused about these two records with multiple "applied" and "removed" feedback in front of them:
I asked nutildah to do this sequence on TrustTestUser, for fine-tuning my script.

Quote
Is it that whenever a sigban is removed, it gets marked removed, and then goes back to applied if the user is sigbanned again?
Yes. Just read each line from left to right to see the sequence of events.

Quote
Wouldn't it be better to simply remove the record if a user is not sigbanned anymore to make the list look more sober and clean?
No, I want the list to show who keeps getting new Sigbans:
Over the years, I expect some users to collect multiple Sigbans. This list will only grow longer, I won't remove entries.
If you want a sober and clean list, use BPIP. I didn't really want to reproduce what BPIP did already.

Also, I noticed that in the last record in the screenshot I've provided above, applied is repeated three times before the removed, because logically, if someone's sigban isn't removed, it cannot be applied again
I'm just showing what modlog shows:
Quote
Sigban applied: N/A in topic #0 by member #41380
Sigban applied: N/A in topic #0 by member #41380
Sigban applied: N/A in topic #0 by member #41380

and even if it is applied with a different date or duration, the date should be changed, which is the same in the record.
The date is the Sigban's starting date, based on when I scrape modlog (which doesn't have timestamps). Modlog doesn't show the duration of the Sigban. So in this case, I assume theymos tested changing the duration of the Sigban.

Those two account were obviously created for testing either by Theymos or Nultidah and yes it’s meant to show that but if you check modlog , it’s seperate .. as in Sigban applied and Sigban removed on two separate lines unlike how loyce page displayed it for ease detection of all updates on the particular account.

I do not know some people do not have anything to learn on this forum than posting to make money, yes there are some people that want to earn some money but they should be posting something good. If there is a member on this forum that does not know that are some people that do not wear campaign signature and not making money on this forum, what else will they learn on this forum.

There's a few major issues:

- you aren't getting many merits because your posts don't have much substance behind them; you're repeatedly making the same surface-level conversation
- the majority of your posts are deep in threads that don't (or no longer) encourage genuine discussion
- you're posting in the same few topics over and over again

Simply put, the majority of your posts are unnecessary. If you want your account status to improve, you'll need to radically change the way you post and what you post about. At the very least, you should attempt to write more engaging posts about topics you actually enjoy.

nutildah, are you ok with receiving personal messages of potential accounts to look into? I run into a few from time to time which aren't quite breaking forum rules, but are annoying and in my opinion are posting because of signature campaigns and given quite vague / empty replies. Ultimately you might not agree, but I can send some lists every so often. I'd probably wait until there's at least 20 or so (or 100, now that's saying something!) in the list so I'm not sending constant PMs.

We really need to bring back the "Wall of shame" and restore it to its former glory
Maybe a self-moderated topic where, just like with merit source application, everyone can post once a week 10 examples of why said user that made those posts must take a break?  Cheesy

One thing I'm curious about: do the users that get a sigban also get a message notifying them of this?
Asking cause some have stopped immediately from posting, but I've seen at least one who goes on with his nonsense 3 lines as if nothing happened.

I like how it currently works.  I also kind of like that immediately after pressing the 'Login' button I wondered what are the chances I would have a Personal Message from nutildah.  I generally do not like imposing through fear but I do have a good feeling about the results this one will have.

My prediction is that multi account farmers will fear the day they would receive a message from nutildah and in a string of consequences they will slow down and then finally give up on at least some of the alternative accounts.  They can not focus on writing better posts on 10 different accounts simultaneously.  They also can not afford to lose all income so this is the only way.

The transparency is a bonus too.  We can see who got signature banned, we can usually even see why and the banned have a voice too.  It feels like kids being soft punished by having to face the wall.

-----

nutildah, are you ok with receiving personal messages of potential accounts to look into?
I would go a step further and suggest a Topic particularly for Members to post accounts they find.  Similar to the way the plagiarism mega thread works where nutildah can quickly go through evidence and find the solution faster.

So sigban isn't a permanent ban, User can get their account unbanned by improving their Post quality. I have two scenario in my mind who will get banned.

Scenario 1: A users maximum old post mostly is garbage but over the last month that person improve the quality of post.
Scenario 2: A person who history of making high quality posts but over the past month start posting low quality content.

So in those two scenario who will most likely get a sigban?

I see this is causing quite a stir on the forum. I thought there would just be a few signature bans here and there, but nutildah has come out swinging. I hope he finds a balance. Once he's been given that power and has started the task, there's a little risk he'll end up overdoing it. But if he continues to sig ban users in a reasonable manner, this will clearly be a net positive for the forum.

I think since it's related to Campaigns Payout then most recent posts count's would be ideal to judge a user. A signature campaign always wants to get best output from a user. But if a user we're just good enough to show their enthusiasm for joining a campaign but after joining all their enthusiasm has just done then I think they are not qualified as display sig and get paid by.

Other than this , just spamming the thread with out even reading enough context is also might be biggest reason here. A thread can consist several pages, but to satisfy your needs you shouldn't read all the posts has been made to that section what our JayJuanGee usually do , but you can atleast read what catches you eyes most. But if you think just one reply is the most will do then it would definitely call as spam.

Managers not giving importance to an attempt at cleaning up the B S off Bitcoin Talk actually blurs their own reputation or image.  In fact. At this point it will be interesting because if we get a log of banned signatures we will be able to see which of the managers is going to have the least participants banned. It will outline the best of them very quickly and even help the most serious ones build an even stronger reputation.
Based on the post created by nutildah, the points we raised to the managers have already been accepted. Nutildah has already taken action and many have been signature-banned. The respected managers are seeing this positively and are trying to accept users with quality posts into their campaigns.

We will also see the banned signature list in the future, and it will become easier to identify the best ones. However, a very important and useful initiative has been taken for the forum because of which both the quality and quantity of posts are increasing.

Scenario 2: A person who history of making high quality posts but over the past month start posting low quality content.
Accounts that previously made high-quality posts but have suddenly been posting low-quality content for one month may have several reasons. The account may have changed hands, but a decision can be taken after properly investigating the matter. Because there is definitely a reason why a high-quality poster suddenly started making low-quality posts like this and that is something to look into.

Have some shame and show your face!

As a newbie, you have no idea if there's a lot of spam on the forum or not! You're a veteran member who probably has dozens of alt accounts and now you're presenting arguments because you're probably afraid some of them might get banned.

I know the forum allows alt accounts, but in my opinion, all alt accounts should be identified as belonging to their original author. I know that's impossible if they themselves report it. And for me, that's a big part of the problem - hundreds of unidentified alt accounts.

And as you said compare yours and mine post history, well then why stop on the posts only, let's compare the trust history also. Here is yours  Trusted feedback Tongue

Main Highlights: Abuses the trust system, false feedback, spread false claims and many more.

Of course. All users, including Satoshi, should use their real name, instead of some nickname. Let's go full KYC immediately, that would definitely help.

By the way: your idea wouldn't stop the spam, and would only discourage some good users from posting. For example ertil was neutral tagged as an alt account of stwenhao. And now, both stopped posting. Hunt them all, so they will leave the forum, and move somewhere else, where their anonymity will be more respected.

I was checking those that Nutildah has banned their signature, they have almost the same pattern of posting as they are posting just mostly on the gambling mega thread and posting just on gambling threads that are not new. Almost all their posts are on the gambling board. Some people that got the merit and smerit airdrops are doing this but there are some people that were serious before, get to hero and start the bad posting and because of that getting no merit again.

Why the word "should"? Did Satoshi start the spam here? Leave Satoshi out of this issue, and give me one crypto forum that has KYC? It's not a standard practice; well, this KYC could be the next admin's April 1 task. Grin

Has Theymos repeated April fool prank before? I mean to make April fool and in the later year make the same April fool? I do not think that has happened before.

KYC was the 2019 April fool.
KYC now required

If people are using their real names, what will their altcoins be called? I am talking about those alts of reputable members that are known on the forum.

An account usually starts posting bad posts when it has many alternative accounts. The one you are talking about may have had only one account in the beginning but later his intentions may have changed. Nowadays, in most cases, accounts are seen looking for ways to make money with 2 lines of nonsense. However, I think @nutildah is doing a good job. Now there will be pressure on alternative accounts. Sigban will improve two things in the community. First, it will get rid of bad flower baskets. I even believe that bad posts are made by those who have a mandatory condition to post on many accounts to get paid. Because of Sigban, most of the alt accounts will probably be in trouble now.
