What do you think of these punishments?
FIFA's sanction on the players and officials of the Argentine national team is justifiable. Leandro Paredes grabbing Eric Garcia's throat is violent and could have led to severe injury. Nahuel Molina's punishment is okay because he punched a player without any form of provocation. This should serve as a teterant to other players and fans to control theselves even in the face of any form of provocation.

The Argentinian Football Association (AFA) has said they would appeal these sanctions and are willing to take their appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) if needed. I guess that those involved might end up getting a reduced punishment after these appeals.

--somehow the Argentine midfield didn't work that day and it affected their game play coupled with the red card that Enzo Fernandez got, so please i see no reason why we should be attacking the Argentina team, is it easy to be a former defending champion and still perform so well as to getting to the final, i think what Argentina deserves is applause rather than criticism.

I don't think it's fair to say that most people don't appreciate Messi. Messi is one of the best players in the history of world football and even if he has a slightly impulsive character, that doesn't mean he is a player that people don't appreciate. And i can also say that of all the matches Argentina has played, the one against England is the only one they really deserved, because they faced an England team incapable of reacting.

The Argentinians should accept the sanctions and apologize themselves for the embarrassment and aggressions caused on the finals of last world cup. It was all caused by the fact they didn't accept losing, they didn't accept the fact Spain displayed a much superior performance on the field. That was a shame, and to be frank, the sanctions against them were quite soft. I believe it's not the kind of sanction which will prevent Argentinians from repeating the same behavior in future situations.

As you can see, they still think to be right on their stance.

Every country or team has the right to appeal, an appeal doesn’t necessarily mean a country is angry on that thing rather they see a possibility of removing that negative mark. Though i dont support whatever bad Argentina did, im not even Argentinian to support them but it is only messi that is making me be Argentina’s side. The sanctions are totally correct and are necessary for fair and cotrolled environment in sports, i would advise every Argentine to take this a lesson and not repeat it

This were not the Allegations, I don't remember anybody calling England a small team after their defeat to Argentina, the allegations after the England match was that the player celebrated with a banner that has political stuffs and that is against FIFA rules, so they were supposed to be investigated and punished but the were not.

It seems that Messi's Argentina was favored a bit by FIFA and the referee, they say so but we are not sure, certainly in some matches they had some help, but it happens in almost all strong teams. They should have been investigated and punished if they committed crimes but that didn't happen, politics should stay out of the game of football, they have nothing to do with it.
If you tried to know better, you would know that FIFA opened an investigation against Argentina on July 29 because the players displayed a political banner that read "Las Malvinas son Argentinas" after the semi-final win over England. Although the investigation and punishment were delayed, FIFA fined Argentina $321,000 and ordered the attendance at Argentina's next match to be halved.

Actually when it comes to talking about the last World Cup, which is now in the past, I have no respect for the FIFA authorities. Everyone has seen how the Argentine team was dragged to the final. They had to play with easy opponents from the group stage and they were overcoming it very easily. When they faced a difficult opponent the FIFA authorities showed their shameless favoritism and took them forward.

The Spanish players did not allow them to create that opportunity and blocked every entrance to grace. The Argentine team was a bet in the World Cup and that team had to reach the final at any cost. It was such a thing for the highest football authorities in the world and they were able to do it.

Let's say that obviously it is something that no one can and will ever know. We can't do anything but watch and create our own thoughts and ideas on the matter; i also think that Argentina somehow controlled these matches that, in my opinion, they shouldn't have won, especially the one against Egypt, but it still remains a personal thought.
I agree with you, while watching Argentina and Egypt, I was almost sure that Egypt would win the match because they performed much better than Argentina for most of the game. But Egypt could not maintain their performance in the end and at one point they got frustrated which resulted in Egypt losing very easily to Argentina. It is true that Egypt lost the match to Argentina, but I could not accept this naturally, this is completely my own opinion. In the end, Argentina won the match but it created confusion in the minds of the general people.

Spain drew with Cape Verde but Argentina won with them . Considering this alone, we cannot say that Argentina is a stronger team than Spain. Maybe Spain played better in some matches and Argentina played better in some. Both of them reached the finals after overcoming fairly difficult teams. All the teams that played in the World Cup are quite strong. So there is no need to think that Argentina reached the finals by playing against easy teams. Argentina could not take any advantage against Spain. That is why they were forced to lose. In Argentina's matches, they are maintaining their balance performance. That means they try to perform the same way for the entire 90 minutes. As a result, they do not put much pressure in the beginning, which is why they have to take goals in most of the matches. But later on, they made a comeback. But in the Spain match, all this changed. Maybe in the future, both Argentina and Spain will be considered very strong teams. I will look forward to the World Cup to enjoy watching the excited matches of these strong teams.

Spain and Argentina are two strong teams, they have many champions. It's true that in some matches they don't do well.
Honestly, i was able to watch this World Cup and get some ideas on who could be the next team to win the European Championship.

It is not like they don’t like his personality or game play, most people appreciate him and fan him, even those that always criticize him still know deep down that he is a spectacular player, their only issue is that they feel that most of his achievements in football were out of favor of which personally am kicking against, Messi has been exceptional good right from onset and i feel he actually earned every respect, trophies and achievements that he have gotten, there haven’t been any favoritism to me from FIFA to him, the thing is once you are good people must criticize and say a lot of things about you, most referees overlook some things in some matches but it is not everything that fans should feel is favoritism simply because it didn’t favor their team or favor the player they fan, you also brought England into this, i will say it over and over again, currently in world football there is no small team, those teams that Argentina played during the World Cup like Egypt etc that we feel we’re not strong would have shockingly removed even Spain if they had encountered them, Argentina fought and came back from goals down from different matches during this just concluded World Cup so their is no way we can say that it was only the win against England that they deserved, you can’t predict football, who would have imagined that Hull city would beat Man U today in EPL 2:0, that is football for you, it was never Argentina’s fault that they played the teams they played, it was not also their fault that they came back from goals down to win against Egypt etc, Messi is getting closer to retirement, i feel what he deserves now should be applause for his exceptional performance over the years rather than regular criticism.

I saw the news today on x.com(Twitter) and I must say the punishments are more than deserved. Argentine displace very unsporting behaviors that were completely ruining the tournament.
What I actually expected to happen was the judgement to have been passed a few hours after the tournament.
The sanction is very good, although given everything the Argentinians did to promote the Falklands/Malvinas issue, the rudeness, and the indecent fights they instigated, the punishments should be much harsher. Children see these examples, and it's to be expected that the little ones will imitate them when they play football, because they want to do everything like them.

The harshest sanction is for Paredes, but he was like a fighting rooster; you touch him and he fights. What a bad example of a player.

What do you think of these punishments?

Those who disagree with the punishment must be supporters of Argentina. Because for someone who can think rationally, the actions of the Argentine national team in the World Cup yesterday cannot be justified. They engaged in politically charged actions, racist behavior, and were quite arrogant in several matches, which made many people quite fed up with their conduct. This punishment is fair and they deserve it. Spanish players also received punishments, so FIFA's punishment should have been more appropriate.

I think it's really good decision by France football because I was already against such kind of unethical moral character like in final Argentina players got really aggressive and pushing the Spanish players even the beat them too. This absolutely unethical behavior by the Argentinian players. It's a football and here this kind of behavior are not acceptable. Football is nasm unity and love and when someone cross the limit then probably he need punishment.....

I know Argentinian players was but frustrated on performance but still it's football and here only respect is try criteria.  Paredes got 10 matches ban with 90k plenty, Molina got 7 match ban with 90k fine and the rest got 1 match ban like Gavi and Almada as well as with 30k fine. I hope after this players will never be able to do such behavior.

They were the defending champions and should have behaved themselves. They won France in the last World Cup, and the French players didn't act unruly. Messi, as captain, did nothing to stop these players from misbehaving. I watched one video where I saw the Argentine captain doing nothing even when he saw players acting violently. Messi is highly respected in the team, and I believe his intervention would have reduced tension. He even led the disgraceful behaviour of backing the Spanish team as they lifted and celebrated with the Cup. FIFA should create rules in the future that place some responsibility on the team captain.

And i can also say that of all the matches Argentina has played, the one against England is the only one they really deserved, because they faced an England team incapable of reacting.
Of course Messi is a talented player. The football world looks up to him with respect. He is spreading his talent all over the world and his performance is getting better and better as he gets older. If there are any living legends in the world, then Cristiano Ronaldo of Portugal and Lionel Messi of Argentina will be at the top of the list.

The second highest scorer in the world is now Lionel Messi with 921+ goals which is a very rare achievement. Cristiano Ronaldo is on the list of the highest scorers with 976+. Both of them are getting older but they are still scoring goals.

Messi has played well in almost every match of this World Cup and he had a chance to win the Golden Boot. However, he did not score against the big teams because the opposing teams practiced him a lot and learned the techniques to stop him, so he did not score the expected goals.

Very true. Messi and  Ronaldo are really good and when you are mentioning legends or the greatest players of all time, you must need to call their names because of their unique abilities and perseverance to make food use of their talents to inspire younger generations to perform well regardless of the league they find themselves. They are both good and I love both of them and I am not saying anyone is better than the other but a lot of arguments have been going on especially during the world cup about who is the best, but we need to know that these are two different people and have differences but both of them are unique, we should appreciate their efforts and passion for the game especially for the fact that they are still playing well despite being old rather than comparing them and trying to see which is the best and which is not.

For the younger generation, they need to know how well to manage themselves, we can hear from Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi how they are able to manage social media pressures and how they still remained humble despite their achievements and they played for passion and not just for money or fame. you can literally see the passion in them  and how well they played to see that the team they are playing for do well in their era. But this is one of the reasons why younger generations don't do well in a long time because, most play for fame and money especially when people start noticing their talents and potentials which is very sad because there are several talents that have died even while the player is still playing and has not retired but he is not making that impact again. Everything is just my opinion though, younger generations need to play for passion and not be carried away by money, fame and pressure.
