More Bitcoin Holders than Gold in America

In America, the number of Bitcoin holders will increase in the future because the young generation is more comfortable investing in Bitcoin than gold. Moreover, gold is the most trusted investment medium for the old generation, but it may not be a suitable investment for the young generation. The young generation gives more importance to any technological thing, so they give more importance to Bitcoin than gold. As a result, if comparative statistics are made between the young generation and the old generation than before, there is an incredible difference. Where the number of investors between 18 and 29 years is 82 percent, that is, the popularity of Bitcoin is observed more among the young generation, and if it remains like this in the future, Americans will be the first choice of the young generation in any country in the world.

A link to the source would help so we can at least read on how the statistics were collected.. right now, we can't confidently say that more Americans own Bitcoin than gold without knowing how the data was gathered. Was it based on a nationwide survey, a specific age group like others have said, or only people who actively invest? Those details matter because they can greatly affect the results.
I'm not saying it's impossible for Bitcoin to have such higher stats.. Bitcoin adoption has grown rapidly over the last few years especially among younger people ad many now see it as a better long term investment than gold. But then, gold has been owned for generations both directly and indirectly through jewelry, coins, bars, and investment products. Think about it, Because of that long history any claim that Bitcoin ownership has surpassed gold ownership should be backed by a reliable source and a clear explanation of the data.

Can't tell if the data is accurate but maybe it was gathered from the number of Americans using some particular well known exchanges can that's the only way they can tell the owns of the Bitcoins are Americans, well I believe real holders won't want to leave their coins in exchanges, I know some people still do but more people are becoming smarter in Bitcoin security wise.
 So we can't call them holders but traders since sensible holders won't make the mistake of leaving their coins in exchanges. And also, you're spot on that gold has been long adopted than Bitcoin, even an average American should have a piece of it in their home no matter how small, which is why I don't trust that there are more Bitcoin holders than Gold in America.

This generational change has been clear for some time. Young adults have been raised with digital assets as the norm. What is interesting is that big companies are going in same direction. Now, BlackRock Bitcoin ETF is beating their gold ETF in money coming in.If both regular investor and big company money moves in the same direction, it is not a trend, it is a permanent move. While gold will not go anywhere, the "safe place" story is certainly being told these days, and not by one investment alone.

The younger generation are more inclined to digital asset and on top of the list of digital assets is Bitcoin investment so it shouldn't be a surprise to anybody that Bitcoin has attained the status of digital gold because gold remains a top asset for investment. The adoption of Bitcoin is increasing massively and the average young person would rather invest in Bitcoin where they have a total custody of their asset that is if they're holding through a none custodial wallet. For those that wants to hold through third parties we have top institutions that are catering for their needs and that is why I'm not surprised that there are more Bitcoin holders than gold in America. You are correct on that one. Younger generations are more interested in "fancy" investments rather than "traditional" ones in general. Not to mention acquiring bitcoin and storing it is somewhat easier than gold. They also don't need that much capital to enter.

However, I still don't take such statistics seriously. Their research tactics are usually flawed and very biased which makes their results unreliable. For example over the past years since gold has been soaring hard (from $1600 to $5000), the interest to invest in it has skyrocketed; that's a fact that contradicts the findings shown in this chart.

Honestly I also agree with you that the statistics may not be accurate enough because this does not justify the statistics they are given by what is already on ground, both have been granting on eminent increase when it comes to investment profitability, the only aspect I see bitcoin is over gold is the fact that it remains a decentralized digital asset while good is being centralized, I think there was a time as well I saw a chat from some old members of this forum, stating how bitcoin has been more profitable than gold over the years and I guess this is when good hasn't attained to this far and likewise bitcoin.

In Nigeria for instance our SEC reported over 96 billion dollars in total cryptocurrency transactions by early this year, though we do not have the exact figures regarding how much is being stored or invested in bitcoin. Such volume of transactions when compared with the country’s currency is such a huge amount of money to be counted.

The world is going digital, that's for sure. But I wouldn't be so certain about moving away from gold.

Sure it's a hustle to deal with physical gold these days, but I see very bright future for tokenised gold, of course that's assuming overall thesis for investing in gold is still there. I personally would do that.

Exactly, the fact that many can easily go into bitcoin without much stress is one of the interesting thing about bitcoin. Still many believe they need to start with a specific amount (that’s why some will belike bitcoin is too expensive), not knowing that they can literally start with any amount , that’s another thing making bitcoin adoption to move with this rate (many don’t understand how it works ). So they picture as something complex , but with time Bitcoin will definitely get more adoption.

Bitcoin has definitely become a 100% better asset than gold at present. Although gold is still far ahead of Bitcoin in terms of price, but if we analyze an average price of the past, we will see that Bitcoin is far ahead of gold. There are several reasons why this young generation is attracted to Bitcoin. For example, Bitcoin is very easy to buy and can be purchased with very little money. The limited supply of Bitcoin and the Bitcoin network are so strong that it is not possible to hack it. If you buy Bitcoin at the present time and hold it for a long time, then there is a possibility of making a good amount of profit.

But if we consider gold, we will see that it is impossible to say exactly how much gold is in supply, it requires a lot of money to buy, there are many difficulties in transferring gold from one place to another, etc.

Really a good massage. I believe that there are still many users in the crypto space who do not learn the importance of this: "Not your keys, not your coins". Because there are many like many people/newbie to hold their major funds on exchanges for a long time, being confident. But they are not aware of the risk they are taking by holding their major funds on any centalized platforms or exchanges.

Yes, there are many problems in transferring gold, if you look closely, you will see that the government taxes a lot of taxes when transferring gold. But my favorite investment list always has Bitcoin, because Bitcoin can be easily transacted through the network and it doesn't have to be transferred to anyone. I think your are right op, majority of their youth in America are into bitcoin investment and cryptocurrencies and they prefer storing their funds in bitcoin than gold, despite they know that bitcoin is a decentralized currency that is not control by the government and they have confidence on bitcoin than gold investment and other investment, as it stand now America is growing bitcoin users that will make bitcoin legal tender in the country in the future because that is the only thing that will make other wealthy people to start investing and storing funds in bitcoin to hope for huge income in the future.

I haven't read much insight into this, but since you've created this topic, I've learned that more and more people are adopting BTC in America, and I'm happy to see that number growing. I also think it's not just in America, but in other countries, too. In my area, more and more people are adopting BTC because they see that BTC consistently creates new ATHs and consistently delivers results for those who hold BTC long-term.

It seems like young people are now more comfortable and prefer investing in BTC over gold, as gold has the potential for smaller returns, while BTC has the potential for larger returns. Bitcoin has more space in the future as comparison to present because technology will be advance and people will be more mature as comparison to that day  . Bitcoin was not accepted by people at the start when it came in the market and those people regret when they saw the people who invested and they were rich people in a few time . Let's be fair. Owning gold and BTC is not overly complicated, and there are different way to access both. For some people unfamiliar with the internet and technology, buying physical gold is much simpler than setting up a wallet and buying BTC.

Similarly, both have their own strength and weakness. Its not like one asset is better than the other in every aspect. BTC has the advantage in portability and storage capacity, while gold has a long history, doesn't depend on the internet and is widely recognized as a global store of value.

So instead of debating which type is better, I think we should consider the advantages of each and choose the one that best suits our need.

Talking about the responsibilities of holding Bitcoin is simpler since you have to purchase it and then figure out how to keep it safe because it is a tangible item. You will then be able to purchase and retain Bitcoin. Since it's not physical, no one even knows that you have Bitcoin, thus, you don't really need to worry. That there is a significant demographic component. Younger investors are obviously more at ease with digital assets, and Bitcoin is more at ease than physical gold. I believe that Bitcoin isn't going to replace gold completely, however Many investors still favor gold as a secure and conservative investment. Whereas those willing to tolerate more volatility may prefer Bitcoin for its potential for higher returns. I think Bitcoin adoption will continue to rise as the wealth goes to younger generations, but I don't think Bitcoin will completely take the place of money.

G you said this 100 % right instead of buying gold its easy for people to buy Bitcoin the reason is that Bitcoin is buy for 5$ to 10$ but on the other hand to buy gold we need very much money we need high security and banks locker to save the gold on the other hand to save Bitcoin we only a seed phrase of 12 words when the price of gold increase the minning companies take out  gold from the Mines and on the other side the supply of Bitcoin is locked at 21 Million which cannot be increase .
