Why do so many people prefer starting a business over getting a degree? Because a successful business can bring much higher income, while a job after a degree usually has a fixed salary. A degree takes about 4 years and costs a lot. A business can start with small capital and might grow 4 times in those same 4 years. Plus, many graduates still struggle to find good jobs.
•Do you think a degree is important to run a business, or can skills and experience replace it? •What would you choose: start a small business without a degree, or get a degree first and then start a business?
The standard believe is that people go into business because they want to be their own boss. A degree usually leads to a job where someone else is in charge of your time and money but business gives you a shot at building something for yourself. That does not mean a degree is useless. It can teach you things and open doors. But it is not the only path. Some people with just skills and experience do better than those with certificates and that’s a fact.

Degrees are only useful if you do something that can't be done without. For example doctors and lawyers can't operate without a degree. Also a big bunch of the richest/most successful people don't hold degrees; they just manage those who do.
This assumption is not entirely true but not entirely wrong because I think it depends on how someone can put themselves with the privilege they have. Not all rich people have a title that's right because Bill Gates he does not have any title but success to become rich but apart from the effort he did it also comes from the encouragement of parents who have great privilege so that even though Bill Gates does not have a title but he gets the privilege of the family above average. So in this case if there is privilege even though we do not have a degree even though we will still benefit even though there is hard work in it but by having privilege as external support this will make it easier to walk but this will not relate to people in the lower middle class so that in this case success or wealth will not be obtained if we do not For people born with privilege a degree will not be a big deal to them but for people born in poor circles a degree will be considered as a stepping stone so that they can get into slightly higher connections to achieve success or wealth that has yet to be gained.

This situation is generally related to people's expectations. The length of time it takes to obtain a diploma and the job opportunities after graduation are some of the biggest factors influencing people's decisions. In both cases, individuals make their own choices, and we cannot say that either is right or wrong. Experience is an important element in a business. A diploma is also important among the foundations that make up a business. So, what is decisive here is people's choices. It is not correct to say that diplomas are useless. Nor can we say that starting a business without a diploma is wrong. People want to take advantage of the opportunities that come their way. These opportunities sometimes come with a diploma, and sometimes with experience.

In addition to personal effort, the type of opportunities and support a person has is also important for success. However, opportunities do not always ensure success. Again, success is not impossible just because there are no opportunities. One's own skills, interest, hard work and determination are required to utilize opportunities. Even if there are opportunities, how far one can go by utilizing those opportunities also depends on the ability and determination of the individual. In the case of a person from a lower-middle class or poor family, many obstacles may have to be overcome to reach the same level. Someone from a rich family can take good opportunities in many fields in addition to a degree due to family wealth, business connections or financial security. Education and skills of someone from an underprivileged family are one of the main means of filling that gap. Success requires effort, not possibility. A degree is not equally important for everyone. Its value and necessity may vary from person to person depending on financial and social status.

Another thing is that not every one is good at academics, everyone knows their ability to read and understand so for most people they wouldn’t bother enrolling for a degree since they probably can’t read and write, they prefer going into business because that’s where they are only good at. In most countries, the mindset of its citizens is that if they get a degree, they’ll be able to get a job through their degree and for sure that’s just the way it’s meant to be In a working economy . once you’re qualified for a particular job and fulfill all necessary academic requirements for the job then you’re ought to be gainfully employed. Now most of this citizens suffers to gain employment due to lack of industries, Ministries or companies suitable for their degree or qualifications, the government of this country’s put in little or no effort in building this system to enable qualified citizens gain employment with their degrees and as a result of this majority of the citizens no longer believe in obtaining a degree, they thought of the years, and all the money they will probably have to spent acquiring the degree they will have used it to start building a business, and what is the guarantee that they will get a job after years of studying for a degree as that has been their major reason for deciding to get a degree, that’s their mentality which is the major reason why they prefer business over getting a degree.

A degree can provide us with certain knowledge in a particular field, which we can later use to pursue a well-paid job or start our own business. But what formal education definitely cannot provide us with, or is unlikely to provide us with, is the experience we gain from actually running our own business. I believe that this experience is essential, because it makes it easier to get started and helps us make fewer mistakes.
Experience is the practical experience and lessons you build up through the process of working. Experience is something that cannot necessarily be bought or simply learned from other. So formal education cannot provide you with that. Although education cannot give you experience, it can provide you with knowledge and a solid foundation. That can make it much easier to gain practical experience later on. You will make fewer mistake if you already have experience before starting a business. But if you have both knowledge and experience, you can make better decision and shorten the path to success.

If I'd known 20 years ago that my country would end up like this, I wouldn't have taken school so seriously. Deep down I probably saw it coming but maybe I just didn't want to accept it.
Education gives you a lot but when it comes to making money, the time you invest in education doesn't always transform into higher income. There are also many geographic and political factors involved. Simply being well educated or highly skilled isn't enough to make good money. At the same time, starting a business is no guarantee of success either. We live in a time when earning an honest living and succeeding through your own efforts has become much harder.
Sincerely, it's a good thing you got education, because even in the growing World of business and technological innovations, education still stands it's ground and is making enough wave and bringing impacts. You know for sure how important it is to you, and even how educated people become very much relevant to there society at large. Our only regret is for the fact that we aren't making enough money from it as i or we initially thought when we were kids that once you get out of school with degrees, off you go to the office and make enough money. Somehow now, it's just the opposite. It's turns out that we have to push for making money ourselves, differently from what we thought, but at least, we have a background for this move, which is education. Apparently, education is good, and business is also good. Education gives you wisdom, while business gives you money. And sometimes, the combination of these two qualities sets you apart to do money exploits. It turns out that it was never a wast after all.

Many people begin by pursuing education to master skills they have not yet acquired; while this is a positive approach, it requires years of study. In contrast, those without higher education often choose to run their own businesses, seeking faster results and the autonomy to make their own decisions. Indeed, a successful business venture can rapidly strengthen your financial position.

Yes, but everyone has the right to choose or do whatever they feel is right and suitable for them. You are right though, as both education and skill are very important in life, but everyone has their own priorities in life, what might be your priority may not be someone else's. So, some people may prefer pursuing a degree first and vice versa but one should carefully consider their decision before taking a step, so as to avoid making unnecessary mistakes that they will later regret.

I have seen people who have studied up to class 10, and after that they quit their studies and start business, they start business from a young age. Basically their goal is to become a businessman, so they do not waste any more time and start doing business. But this can also be due to their financial crisis, that is, maybe their family does not have the financial means to send them to study, so maybe they also quit their studies and start doing business, but they can also be successful at some point, this is real. But I think people should continue their studies, at least as far as they can afford, but if someone wants to stay away from studies despite their financial means, then they are definitely making a mistake. But after all, every person has a specific goal, and everyone keeps trying until they reach that goal, and this path is different for everyone.

It’s true that education is indeed valuable, but we need to understand that success doesn’t just follow one path. There are people who left school due to one challenge or the other, like financial problems, while some people deliberately chose the business path early and somehow managed to become successful through consistency and experience. Everyone has their own path to success, it must not be education, irrespective of the fact that education is good and provides knowledge and more opportunities.

I find it difficult to understand what you are trying to say. If I understand you correctly, your argument is that people do not always get formal education to work at a job or build a career but to gain knowledge. My question to you is what do you suppose they do with that knowledge they have acquired after graduation? What @GeorgeJohn said is true but is because of the lack of coherence in some of his statement that's why you couldn't completely understand his point but however I agree with him because not everybody that's going to university today has a purpose to build a career from their study because if you have already gotten a career that has made you a millionaire before enrolling on the formal education I don't think you would depend on it after graduating, so actually the only purpose they will have for it is knowing that they have completed their education and will no longer be seen as someone who isn't a degree holder. In essence your argument is based on the possibility that, some people get to attend or go through school or formal education because, they just want the validation of other persons or the society, is that it? Because I find that to hold little or no weight at all.
I hear majority of entrepreneurs are school drop outs with stats to prove it. What’s there to note is that, these drop outs realized way too early that, they weren’t getting no where with getting a livelihood off a career path and decided to try entrepreneurship. We still have graduates that later became entrepreneurs and those that just jumped into entrepreneurship without any formal education. All these categories of persons do exist but, going through for al education is always about earning. Means to utilize the knowledge you acquire. Formal education teaches you how to be versatile and knowledge learnt is only useful when applied otherwise, what’s the use of just knowing and never applying. Should you ever apply what you’ve learnt, either as a trade or use it in the coordination or a trade that brings you income, that’s you earning of a formal education. I’ll hope to hear you tell me otherwise.

Everyone has their own path to success, it must not be education, irrespective of the fact that education is good and provides knowledge and more opportunities. The work done by an educated person is more likely to be sustainable because he is educated in formal education and is using it in his working life. In business and any other profession, an educated person can make innovative and prudent decisions, but it may not be possible for a less educated person to do so because he has a limitation in education and his thinking is not very broad. Literally, an educated person mixes modern thinking with reality and tries to perfect most of the business decisions and succeeds. A less educated person works tirelessly only by utilizing his experience and I value this experience the most. Many people cannot achieve formal education/higher education due to financial constraints. In such a real situation, some talented people continue their efforts and succeed because they develop their talent through hard work. By gaining experience, they reach a level that is not possible for many educated people to reach that position.
